Ukraine braces to launch counter-attack against Russia in east to take back Donbas - BBC News

Government forces in Ukraine are trying to seize the initiative from Russian troops before the arrival of winter, with a counter-offensive is already under way in the south.
Ukrainians are now preparing to expand this tactic in the east to take back land lost in Donbas and around Kharkiv in the north.
Correspondent Quentin Sommerville and camera-journalist Darren Conway were given exclusive access to a unit of Ukrainian troops.

I felt so awful for the Ukrainian soldier at the end. I can only imagine his pain and not being able to be knocked out so you don’t feel it…kind of like coming out of major surgery and your anesthesia wears off, the sharpest pains I’ve had, but these men and civilians losing limbs, shrapnel wounds everywhere is a whole different kind of Hell on earth. I'm pretty sure neither side is innocent, so instead we should wish both countries' citizens prosperity or something. When the Soviet Union fell apart, many people who identified as proud Russians found themselves suddenly belonging to a different country.
