Well, it is not quite as bleak, as it might appear. Sweden is investing in production of the CV90 in Ukraine. The CV90 is great sales success on the military market. Ukraine has been donated some of them - along with other infantry combat vehicles. That is a smart move, as battletested weapon is in high demand at the moment. Similalarly: The Danish seem to be investing in production of the 2S22 Bohdana artillery system, which is about to undercut the price of artillery systems. If that is so, there seems to be the backing of about the strongest economy in the EU - the Danish.

I've been studying their remarkable innovation in defense ewuipment, particularly drones. In Soviet times Ukraine played a key role in defense production, Their innocations in autonomous and semi autonomous sir, sea and land drones will make them Europe's largest defense supplier in this area.They have sunk a third if the Russian Black Sea Fleet and chased the rest of it to port in Russia since the war began.The US and NATO are studying and learning. Ukraine is able to export grain now that the control the Black Sea without a traditional navy.They are building their own missile systems, too, so they can attack bases deep in Russia without US restrictions. It's a remarkable story.

Ukraine already paid for far more than she is getting from the west, in 1994. What are 1700 nuclear warheads plus strategic delivery systems worth? The west wanted to disarm Ukraine “for the sake of European peace and stability” but now drip feeds Ukraine support and makes us beg for crumbs of obsolete equipment. The west owes Ukraine more than it will ever pay for Ukrainian blood.

Your bond chart only goes down to 10. And the bonds never even hit that '10' line. So how can you claim they were ever at 5? Please clarify. Thank you.
@paulrosa6173Ай бұрын
Wouldn't bond holders want repayment in terms of percent of tax receipts to the central government? Claiming GDP is a valid measure of government income sounds very wrong. The government doesn't collect "GDP". It collects taxes. How could a government possibly collect GDP? That only measures the total of all transfers of money between all the parties or persons who use it. That is not really a taxable number. Taxes are only applied to certain transactions as defined by the country's laws. . What is very suspicious about the bondholder claims is if tax receipts fall but GDP rises the government could find itself being forced to keep taxes very high. And what will happen when foreign aid slows? The bond holders will be determining what is appropriate taxation for Ukraine. And what does that say about the role of the legislature of Ukraine? If businesses are receiving all sorts of tax breaks the burden of taxation will fall heaviest on the employees and small businesses. Companies like Blackrock will be receiving rebuilding aid (possibly even as grants) from the Ukrainian government, the IMF and World Bank and will probably enjoy tax credits too? I know full well the Ukrainians may think they are fighting for their own country but they really should look again. Everyone knows Ukraine will be up to it's eyeballs in debt and bond holders will want payback and probably won't want to continue making new loans. The same could happen to Russia as all sorts of foreign investors try to feed on their bones if or when Putin's government collapses? Uncharitable may not describe the situation. Vampiric might be better?
@alxp-zd1zjАй бұрын
can you talk about the U.K.? What do you think of the following, do not treat all foreigners the same, treat them the way we are treated in their country. So if we have to do a lot of paperwork there and we can not do it ourselves because we are foreign, then they can not sign here either, and also need a solicitor to sign it for them. If their country does not give out social welfare, then we should not give them any either. If we can not own a house in their country then they can not buy one here. Etc.
@renalshomlmes338Ай бұрын
To a point good idea, but do you really want to stoop to their level?
@alxp-zd1zjАй бұрын
@@renalshomlmes338 It would be within reason. So if your child could be married out in their country then no,. Not a value of your country. If our gays can be tossed off a roof there, same NO not going to happen here. But we would have a strong stance against this and heavy punishment to deter them to do that sort of thing here. By the way the opposition withdrew in the U.K. so it is officially no democracy and sliding down to a terror state.
