Ukraine invasion fears grow as Russian troops mass on border - BBC News

Russia has for weeks been massing troops and tanks on the Ukrainian border. Ukraine has said it fears an invasion and along with Poland and Lithuania is calling for more western sanctions against Russia.
A joint statement by the countries accuses Russia of aggression and urges NATO to take action.
Russia denies that it is preparing an invasion and in turn accuses the West of threatening Russia’s security through NATO expansion.

He doesn’t care how he does it, he just needs to convince his people that Ukraine is threatening Russian sovereignty so that they’ll accept an invasion. Imo it’s not gonna work, Russians are too anti-war at this point to invade a sovereign nation for land that Russia doesn’t even have a proper claim to. There are already other Baltic countries that are members of NATO so why can’t Ukraine join to? You don’t ever see NATO massing such a large number of troops on Russia’s border and for so long. It’s Russia who is being aggressive, not Ukraine, not NATO. You don’t see foreign soldiers on Russian territory being funded by Ukraine or NATO, unlike Russia which is supporting the conflict in Eastern Ukraine. Russia needs to leave Ukraine alone. People in Britain have no idea what it feels like to live in Ukraine. If there is a major conflict, Ukraine will be the first battleground. Britain has a big moat. That does a huge amount for the sense of national security - something the British should be grateful for, not arrogant about. They already got Finland with good relationships with EU and Turkey which joined NATO, now as well from the south. They feel the threat, even though NATO is exclusivelly a mutual defence treat, not an offensive one. They did ask the Russians if they wanted to join NATO a while back, Russia said no, apparently countries like Russia create coalitions, not join one (this was their words, you can check out any source by searching), but they didn't exclude the possibility of joining in the future. The problem with these countries is also lack of communication between them, and the lack of effort to deepen their relationships.
