Air-launched IR, semi-active, and active AA missile can't be launched at a target unless that target is specifically locked onto by the pilot, who must then authorize release of the weapon after locking. Indeed. If the missile would have been a 'success' than that should have been interpreted as an act of war against a NATO member. Russia’s annual military budget for 2023 is $84bn. Ukrainians have destroyed 2 Russian s400 systems in Crimea plus 2 big Russian landing ships plus a submarine plus other radar and electronic warfare systems plus large transport aircraft plus probably 100 tanks and hundreds of pieces of Russia artillery just in the past couple months. I cannot even keep track any more. This kit probably costed between $5bn to $8bn all together. If Ukraine gets f16s, grippens with meteor missiles, atacms, and GLSDBs in addition to all their current capabilities, Russia simply won’t be able to afford to occupy Ukrainian territory and build enough systems to replace their losses beyond 2024. The air defense on both sides are being hammered. Nevertheless the Russians are learning a lot about NATO systems while adapting to the changes in Ukraine strategies. Russia is definitely learning about the maximum range of US and NATO weapons. NATO is going to be ineffective whenever they do get involved. For the UK they are just lucky at this point. Because if Dimitri was the leader of Russia yeah we already know what would had happened already. This is why I tell people that Putin is trying to perfectly prepare Russia for a real war and all out combat in multiple theaters . So Kim is for that preparation. I'm sure Russia is going to take a lot of weapon systems offline and replace them with various north Korean systems and new Russian weapon platforms to let the new weapons be tested in combat. But yeah the thing about Russia running out of ammunition again is a favorite western media talking point . Last year Russia ran out of everything according to the same media and what happened in March this year. Russia lit up western Ukraine and hammered bakhmut.

Ive been trying to figure out why after over 18 months the Russian's haven't won Air Superiority. Perhaps I have my answer. or Maybe the Brits are just damn good pilots. and a little lucky.

short range AA missiles can't be jammed because they don't rely on radar for guidance, they are heat guided meaning they can only be disrupted by flares, aka, other heat signatures coming from the aircraft to hopefully redirect or confuse the guidance system. It also doesn't give the other plane any type of lock on warning since again, its not radar guided...

The other pilot flew in the other Sukhoi. So probably not. But it's clear that that pilot was not amused by the incident. 1. he could have been blown out of the sky himself by some escorting Typhoons 2. he could have been scared for that incident being the cause of WWIII. IMO, in both cases, that Russian pilot is totally right! It's not a simulation game. It's real life. If a NATO plane is blown into pieces by the Russians/Chinese/North Koreans/any other unfriendly country than that could certainly trigger WWIII. Pilots, soldiers and navy personelll on both sides should tread very cautiously. Because n accident can happen and the world could get into a real turmoil.
@lihue4 Жыл бұрын
Fox 1 missiles such as the older R-27 mean the pilot must maintain a constant lock throughout, and can release the missile lock up until impact. Fox 2 are your heat-seeking or infrared and your Fox 3s are your active homing radar or the ones that go “pit bull”.
