Then why did Ukraine reject all the peace agreements that allowed Ukraine to be independent because it stopped Ukraine from occupying Finstan which Zelinky didn’t like. Putin already announced that there are no more negotiations available with the current ukrainian goverenment. How Ukraine is going to exchange territories with Russia, if most of the territories are now constitutional boundaries of Russia and if Russia will simply not talk about anything anymore?

@@benitocarbone2123 '.. constitutional boundaries of Russia..' To Russia, maybe, but not to Ukraine or the rest of the World. Those borders are not internationally recognised. To end wars, there has to be negotiation, or an outright take over of that country. Russia could never take the whole of the Ukraine, it's far too large and Russia doesn't have the resources to do that. All that remains, is that Ukraine push Putin and Russia in other ways. Eventually, in time, Putin will have to come to the negotiation table and talk with Ukraine and this is where wars are resolved, lands are handed (negotiated) back. Doesn't matter what Putin says now, or what borders are according to Russia.

Why would Putin exchange villages for cities? Ukraine caught Russia off guard, captured 77 (?) villages, but the moment of surprise is lost. Now Russia is digging in... Will Ukraine capture a city of Kursk? Very unlikely. We have 153,000 villages, losing 100 villages doesn't mean anything. It rather gives additional motivation to Russians to defend the land.

This isn't even ironically. They really do. The retreating conscripts who were captured by Ukrainians moving into Kursk were fired upon by their own soldiers, by Chechen blocking troops. That's why they turned back, running toward the Ukranians to surrender. It was better to surrender than to be shot for retreating.

And the conscript POWs are interviewed by Ukrainian soldiers while in captivity where they tell of their experience. Ukrainians have been doing these recorded POW interviews since the beginning of the war.
