Thank you, Keven, for using the terms “strumming hand” and “fretting hand” throughout. It makes things much, much less confusing for me, a lefty player. And thanks for rolling and thumb wrap techniques. I didn’t know them. Cheers!

Same here, Hiroko. Lefty, sometimes feeling left alone... but not with Master K.

Thank you! I thought this would be beyond me, too difficult, but got the hang of the little sequence because your teaching is so clear, and you calmly inspire confidence which is half the battle.😊

Lol I figured this out with the strumming hand, but I didn’t know you could do it with your fret hand! Awesome! Super helpful for us beginners out there ❤

Hi Kevin. I ve been practicing uke for 6 monthes now with the help of your videos. Thank you for all your work. I ve made a huge improvement but i really really feel that i lack proper knowledge on how to play fundamentals: scales, arpeggios and technique exercises. Especially arrpeggios and technique. May be you could do some videos on that topics? I think that lot of people ask same questions. I have searched the web looking for some kind of course on that topic but could not find anything usefull. But that stuff is the basis of any musical knowledge i think.

Kevin, thank you so much for this lesson. I have watched this video when I subscribed to your channel, It was several months ago, I don't remember exact date, but I had no purpose. Today I tried to play a riff with muting, so I decided to rewatch your video today, but it's pretty hard for me, especially using my thumb, when 99, 9 % of times I don't use it, he is in the middle of the neck. But I will try. In a riff I need to mute A and E strings, but C string must be rung , G string must be opened. I love how you talk about Bb. Love, appreciate, admire you so so much.

That is tough for me! Lol I usually have a death grip on the strings so decompressing them blows my mind. 😉

I used to have death grip too... then I figured at that the intonation problems I was having with my uke were mostly due to this high pressure I was giving to the strings. I started to lower the pressure, testing in many ways and then, better intonation, less stress on my fingers and hand and forearm... and actually made easier this tutorial for me.

@@CoYoTdeLiMa I have a death grip as well and my thumb hurts when I play specific chords, not necessarily barre chords, because of all the pressure that I apply on my fingers.

Just bought my first uke. And just found this channel. I am a guitar player, so the uke is coming a bit easier for me. But this channel has been really helpful. Keven, curious what type of uke you have. Is that a long neck concert or a tenor? And what maker?
