Wednesday August 17 2016 at 1.17 and 1.21. The 11.00 Glasgow to Plymouth (20.43) train and then, from the other side, the 10.00 London to Aberdeen (17.04) train. This is less than half a mile north of Longhirst LC and probably should be called Longhirst North. 9 more trains a day use this crossing though which just shows what nonsense the usage figures are. Just a few more vehicles than trains use this crossing. About 500 adults live in Longhirst, Northumberland. It has a website which mentions its pillar box but not its 2 level crossings.
