I believe the P16 is the clear winner for me for three main reasons: Performance: The P16 offers superior performance, which is crucial for my needs. Price: The price difference of $500 or more is significant and cannot be ignored. Weight: Even a small difference in weight makes a big impact when I'm traveling. This is why I currently use a 14-inch MacBook Pro instead of the 16-inch model. Whether I'm traveling by train, ferry, or airplane, I always manage to find a power outlet near my seat, so I don't have to rely on the battery. Additionally, I prefer physical buttons and a trackpad with clear edges, which the P16 provides. This makes it a no-brainer for me if I decide to use a Windows laptop. However, this is a big 'if,' especially considering that Microsoft tracks even keystrokes. I don't have a compelling reason to use Windows in my environment, whether for personal or office use.

Great video! The company that I work for has always supplied dell XPS as part of their offering. However, the biggest flaw I've found on this PC is the "aluminum” / overheating issue. All works well (like any other PC) once out of the box. After a few weeks of heavy use, then the heating issue arise. It seems to be a common issue on this model.

I get the Asus for price but I have always been an AMD fanboy. By the way, having more abundance in ram helps even if ram doesn't bottleneck. The operating system both proactively and passively caches data into RAM, on longer compute sessions, and if you stand by, ram going unused winds up populated with most likely data you typically use. Typically, on my 32 GB box, 12 gigs are in use, 19 gigs shows in resource monitor as cache data, this happens overtime computing, but gets reset on a restart, does not get reset on standby. In essence excess ram acts as a ram disc, there's no performance hit using excess ram as data cache. I'm on my phone so I can't check, if memory serves, the Intel soldered ram is probably faster than the Asus? I personally go for more RAM over fast ram. Another also, I believe AMD is providing software that allows users to change power drawer percentages, not positive about that, v I think I saw that on another creator's tube

Exactly the review and comparsion I was looking for. Thank You! I'm looking for a 16" OLED touch. Leaning for the DELL XPS with Intel and 90Hz Display. Regarding Keyboard and Ports I am not sure if I will like the new Dell. Would take Asus if it would offer Intel configuration but with AMD I am a little shy because I have some old SW where I don't know if they might cause problems with AMD. Other than that, I really like the new ProArt P16. I am upgrading from a Surface book 2 15" which I had for 7 years and still love it. But beattey is end of life and changing nearly impossible or super expensive with risk of damage. That all the new notebooks now have easy acces to for battery exchange is a hughe step forward.
@piwypd0Ай бұрын
also you forgot battery, if asus is slower while unplugged it should be more efficient and more battery lasting right?

Thank for your test . Effectively the real configuration is 4070 2+2 to ssd 64 go ram . I don t understand why it s difficult to have real test in context . Maybe with amateur and pro on davinci resolve because it s the editing software. Also ableton protools cubase . To see his power and fluidity in real context . The step 2 is also to compare with macbookm3 pro m3 max and the best pc with same same graphic card because 4090 hit the 4070 . For creators it is the ultimate test . Also to see what is happen just on battery . What we could do and how many long time . Because there is theory and real project and workflow . Thanks for your work

In your review on the previous version of the ProArt P16 ( the one with the Intel ) you stated when powered off and charging it would get very very hot, and of course the fans would kick on immediately when powered up. Did you notice that on this 2024 model? Thanks for your reviews btw.

I'm really considering the P16 at the moment, could you tell me how wobbly the screen is when using the pen? Since the main purpose is digital painting, it's one of the more important factor for me as well. I also considered the PX13, but I need the extra SSD slot to run Linux (I want complete separation and no dual boot). Thanks in advance!
@PromikesАй бұрын
You can use VMware for Linux, no need in different ssd. And by the way wobbling is horrible even without pen. But I am considering p16 too...
@chrysanthcrestАй бұрын
@@Promikes Yea I know. I tried both VM and WSL and just didn't like splitting resources for both host and the VM (I know, Ubuntu doesn't require much), but it is indeed the better option than conventional dual boot. I still prefer having separate SSD in cases like complete OS reinstall, etc. I was thinking about 3D printing a fitted dock or something just to keep the screen from wobbling if I did get the P16.

Thanks for this comparison. I need a computer and have narrowed it down to these two. I would choose the ProArt over the XPS for these 2024 models. I'm wondering what will come out in 2025. I'm going to wait and see. Either better machines, or get the 2024 models a little cheaper.

The Asus is a clear winner for me. I need to buy a new heavy spec laptop for work but I read online about the Asus screen randomly going black for a second. Anyone knows if this really is an issue or just a few people with the issue? I Don't feel like spending around 3K on a laptop and having to deal with problems like that from day one. If it is a common problem I would stick to a Dell even though it is slower

Excuse me, but what the hell does 13:43 mean? How can ASUS don't run benchmark which is basically a render scene? But you've claimed that the software works... So the render wasn't working? F12 did nothing? Or render has stopped? Or WTF was going on with ASUS there? I am really confused 😵💫 I mean missed render option is kinda huge problem for 3D software

It's funny how the word "Trackpad" has taken over "Touchpad". The original word is "Touchpad" and covers all "pads". "Trackpad" is originally the brand name of Apple's product/tech.

Are there any tech youtubers capable of making content about build quality? Talk in detail about hardware quality. Because with more than 13 years of experience using technology devices. Specifications for me are not a prerequisite anymore (manufacturers often use parameters to attract customers), the quality of the product is what I care about. I'm willing to spend more money to buy a lenovo t14s or x1 than spend less money to buy a product from asus - I'm considering the aspect that I can afford it and I want the product to be worth the money, I don't want to be guided by the manufacturer's marketing nonsense.

The only thing that I don't like with the new Dell 16-inch?...is that "invisible" track-pad.....some folks aren't gifted with mnemonic memory..and can't figure out the "edges" etc I need the physical track-pad to be there..and to function normally...this is why I had to switch to the Lenovo X1 Carbon and the ThinkPad T-490.....I don't need fancy gimmicks and silly fads...I need a laptop that's always "at the ready" to get some programming and development done. You know how hard it is to code when you're "fishing" for the edge of a trackpad?...(for those of us that prefer edge scrolling as opposed to two or three finger!) Nah...I'll have to pass for now...but I love Dell as a company...been with them since the early 90's.....hopefully?...Dell will return to the "XPS" format that put them on the map..and will get back to making LAPTOPS that put FORM and FUNCTIONALITY back to the top of the list..and leave the gimmick-y stuff for their other lines / series!
