As always, sweet video, the rest of the buggers can sit on it, you make great videos and have amazing content. Hema does an amazing job but I can't remember the update times of there maps, so sometimes they are well behind the curve when it comes to active roads, that being said still use Hema maps, but also use Google Earth, sometimes they all combine to give me a great bit of knowledge to the roads.

Amazing time lapse and aerial shots mate, shame about the land owner hey, what a grumpy old bugger. Can he not stick a "no through road" sign at the start of the bloody road?. Any way, onwards mate. Cheers Moose. p.s. some nasty buggers in these comments hey, shocking considering all the bloody effort you put in.

I went through there in May. All station owners were extremely nice and helpful... but you have to call ahead, maybe offer to bring some supplies. Hope Hema have fixed their map... my maps show all that area as 'no public access'.
@gus75873 жыл бұрын
This is the Coober Pedy Tourism Association. Just a note to all regarding this particular underground location. It is on a private mining lease, and is NOT accessible to the public. It is also within the Precious Stones Field, and no one should access the Fields without the appropriate mining permit. Please respect our miners, and our industry, and refraining from entering the fields on your own.

Great series 👍. Mate that happens all the time on the east coast! Re Hema roads that go through private property!......It'd be worth doing a video on in terms of what to do. I've done some research and as long as it's a Gazetted road you have every right to travel on it, not camp, just travel through. It's hard when you have a Cocky (Farmer) with a shotgun saying ya not coming through though!😡. It's honestly a real problem that Hema should address!

What do y'all in the desert like to wear on your feet? Hiking boots just aren't cutting it for me. The suede/mesh isn't tough enough for the various prickly things I encounter. Thinking full leather might be the way to go but I'm concerned about the heat.

Nah mate, since I updated my software it’s seemed to stop or less frequently. New CPU soon so hopefully that will end all this red screen
@thang556 жыл бұрын
Adobe software makes little use of the CPU during rendering. The red flashes are a sign of an issue with the disk subsystem. Might want to try writing to a different disk you're reading from during render.

Been a great series and I really enjoy each video but getting tired of the night footage. You can’t see much of the track and nothing of the country you’re travelling through. And then footage around camp at night, can’t see much there either. No idea what the area looks like or how you’ve set up camp until morning but by then you’ve often already broken camp! Looking forward to seeing Goog’s track, hopefully in daylight.

I wonder how Hema could’ve gotten that wrong. Maybe the station owner was in a good mood the day Hema wanted to gain access to his property and therefor Hema declared the property open for all. 4x4 Earth is a good one for a fair few tracks being shown on there which are questionable whether you’re actually allowed to be on.
@fowletm19926 жыл бұрын
Brett B2 Hema don't drive nearly as many tracks as they make out Ally are taken straight off old survey maps and Google earth Especially in West aus Iv driven places were the whole track has been a full kilometre off the route we're on They have also marked all the roads on our own farm as public tracks Even marked tractor wheel tracks in our paddocks as tracks Lol
@cliffbooth70756 жыл бұрын
Haha that’s insane. So I guess when they upgrade the GPS units to supersede the previous they just have new farm and tractor tracks included huh? Wow! They don’t mention that in their full page adds in the fourby magazines.
@fowletm19926 жыл бұрын
Brett B2 They want you to think they have driven every track in and and personally mapped it Of course it's not viable But I wasn't very impressed with their west aus coverage Which is where I live after purchasing a new hx1 Offern it's better to screen shot off Google earth and and work off that Cool to track your tracks and see how far you have gone And they offern have a good coverage of the gravel roads and the like
@al3112726 жыл бұрын
We have a similar issue with HEMA maps around Barrington Tops in NSW. HEMA still shows roads that have been closed to vehicles for years in the National Parks. Hopefully these maps can be updated soon.
@HoldFastCC6 жыл бұрын
The amount of hours ive spent driving down tracks in outback W.A. to be greeted with a locked gate or the track is blocked/ no longer a track anymore is mind blowing. These tracks are clearly marked in hema and state they are there and they are fully open and accessible. Hema only map the tourist hot spots.

Feel your pain mate with the Hema map problem I had the same problem over Christmas when I was south east of Adelaide. The map shows the track but when I got further down it had been shut down as a tourist mob had privatised the road and shut it down. I think Hema need to redo South Australia

Your private road shit is becoming more and more common across Australia. I even know farmers who have put fences (no gate or grate) across tracks. However, in nearly all cases they have no legal right to refuse you access. Don't blame map makers...
