Hi AY- thank you for your continued support and views. I find myself drawn to the finishing touches more and more. I think this is where a painting can realy gain a lot in quality. Its a low key venture at prresent, but I've opened an etsy shop and hope to offer print on demand for my paintings. Still getting to grips with it. Have a great day. 😎

This is a beautiful and serene painting with very soothing colors. I can imagine seeing fish jumping out of the water and hearing birds chirping in the woods as the water rushes by and splashes over the little waterfall. I will be adding this beauty to my list of 'paintings to do that are inspired by Paul, the master artist'. 🤩🥰

Good morning, Paul☕️ Wonderful adaptation! The reflection in the water is on point! Very beautiful and such a fresh vibe going with Spring. Love the views from the field trip- especially now it be hooves us all to enjoy the warm weather and a new growth. Yesterday, we took a trip to Cypress Falls Park to see a waterfall. I got a big kick seeing this in my notifications! I will share with a couple of beauties. Hope you’re having a great start to the week. 💖

Another great painting, love the way you fixed the rock on the right. Thanks for sharing and teaching us!
@PaulRansonArt Жыл бұрын
Hi Linda - thank you and yes, the rock on the right just didn't work for me. I like to live with things for a while incase they come good. This often happens as the painting progresses. Its a top tip: don't judge a painting until you've had a chance to add a few more elements. Then you can dislike the bit you've just painted and will probably forgotten the other things that bothered you. 😂 - New video breaks out today at 6.00pm UK time 🥰

This tutorial answered sooo many questions for me, thank you! I’m going to buy some acrylics this week. Hopefully I can make a lovely birch now. This painting of yours is so serene. I think you did a beautiful job! I love the idea of going on field trips for inspiration. I’ve actually been noticing things in nature in a new way. The area you were is so pretty. Have you been to Cornwall? So very picturesque. I have memories from my only visit to the UK back in 85. I loved the countryside the best. Congratulations on your beautiful painting! ✨👍🏼🎨🖌️😄✨

Hey Stephanie - I just drop a message on your last comment ☺We're blessed to be living on the South Downs an area of outstanding natural beauty. for sure. I'm excited to hear your're getting your painters eyes. Once you start looking at the world around you as an artist nothing will ever be the same again in so many positive ways. You'll see new colors and textures. New ideas for future paintings. Go hug a tree and say 'hi' to a frog. Its all a bit mad so embrace the future and go paint a delightful birch tree 😍 - phew sugar rush from my first cuppa of the day hahahah. Cornwall is a ways off but definitly a future trip for us. - Have a great day 🥰

I would like to see something tuff - a Rossie version of a Cezanne landscape. That would show how adaptable the Ross technique may or may not be.
@PaulRansonArt7 ай бұрын
Now thats a challenge - more for me than for Bob's technique! I've used the wet on wet technique for many different scenes and paintings over the years. I've no doubt it can be adapted to Cezanne's style too. But by me? Maybe a job for a better artist - Paul 😃😎

No I haven't - but I bet they would look amazing. I've seen photographs of them before but not in the flesh as were in too cool a climate for them to grow. I'll add the idea to my list of future painting ideas. Maybe as an alternative to typical brown trunk tree - Have a great weekend - Paul 😃😎

Subscribed! Awesome tips! You are very good teacher 👍 How can I make liquid clear?
@PaulRansonArt Жыл бұрын
Its not easy to make an exact substitute. But, I have used a very very thin coat of linseed oil as a substitute. Its a lot thinner but still enables blending on the canvas 😃😃😎😎 p.s. dry clean the brush you use for the linseed oil before you go into color. If not you'll make a really big wet mud pie!

Incredible painting as always. :) I would like to have just one question. Are all acrylic paints suitable for underpainting or do you need to have some specific ones? Thank you!
@PaulRansonArt Жыл бұрын
Great question. Any acrylic paint should work just fine. The better quality ones have richer colours but its not too important for this technique.😃
@vickimarsh23858 ай бұрын
I have switched to only water mixable oils, so do you have tutorials on these?
@PaulRansonArt8 ай бұрын
Hi Vicki - I haven't done any dedicated tutorials for the use of water mixable oils but I have used them for my own paintings. Water mixable oil paint is still an oil paint so works just the same as regular oils. The missing ingredients are Liquid White and Clear for wet on wet technique I often demonstrate. So for Liquid Clear, I use Water Mixable Linseed oil applied very thinly (it's quite a bit more liquid than BR Liquid Clear. For Liquid white I just scrub a little Tintanium White into the Linseed oil. The results are so far very nice. So I think you should be able to repeat any of my tutorials with water-mixable oils. Maybe I'll do one or two later on as I think it's a growing trend. Hope that helps Vicki - Paul 😃😃😍😍😎😎

Hi there - ok so the colours used are these - Colors Used: Acrylic - Sap Green, Pale Yellow ( any yellow with some white ) White & Black Bob Ross Oils: Bob Ross Liquid Clear, Titanium White, Ph. Blue, Black, Vad dyke Brown, Dk Sienna, Sap Green, Ph. Green, Cad. Yellow, Indian Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Red. If you loo at my palette and freeze the image you can see the colours marked. I usually give an indication when mixing as well so you should be able to follow along - hope this helps

@@PaulRansonArt thanks so much, what color do you mix to highlight the trees. And grass. Thank you for your time and help
@PaulRansonArt11 ай бұрын
the background trees were highlighted with mixtures of Sap Green and Cad Yellow with a little white to keep them light and distant. I added a little Indian Yellow to make the slightly more orange /trees. I varied the mixtures using a little more sap green and a darken underpainting for the foreground tree. All the colour mixes are shown in the video so you should be able to see it as I painted - hope this helps @@undefined-t4r
