Man that’s gotta be the coolest setup I’ve ever seen for a bug out vehicle I wish I had that kind of money, but besides that his design and ideas are just amazing. Awesome video I hope to one day make a bug out trailer at very least like a mini camper with tons of storage and off grid but this is a life long project because finances won’t allow me to do that and build up my house how I want it to be this was just amazing man helped me get some ideas for my dream builds

If you're among the last people alive in a WROL, you will have a incredible Rig with comforts of home. More realistically you just prepped the sweetest set up for the strongest gang of marauders to take from you at gun point.
@billybob27348 жыл бұрын
You're rig, sweet as it is makes you a target first, you will never successfully "Bug out" in that. Great off the grid rule of law camper though.
@animalmansurvivor14528 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching this! Your comments make total sense to me. Please remember though that not every bug out scenario would be total WROL. Although some scenarios seem to be more probable than others with the way the world is going at the moment, some bug out situations may be people just escaping a regional natural disaster, or a riot in their city, etc. For those scenarios, this rig would be awesome. You just drive it out of state to where things are more normal, and when things at home calm down, you come back home.
@danielgreen3258 жыл бұрын
Just because things go bad doesn't mean it's a Mad Max scenario. Even if 1000 armed people take the rig...... he has something to trade for his life. Anyway, it can't hurt.
@pendejo64668 жыл бұрын
Who says he'll be alone? His rig would help him make friends and create alliances. Not only is he well-equipped, he also possesses the mechanical and technical knowledge to build it, which makes him a very valuable person to have on your team.
@daveunderwood64987 жыл бұрын
Do you really think that a guy, that smart, is going to spend 9 years building something like that and not think of defense, especially if he has a family? Lol. If it was mine, there would be an onboard gun safe. Fully stocked and ready to use. Those poor marauders wouldn't know what hit them. I'm positive he has thought the same thing. He's just not going to tell anybody. Don't blame him.

This is a beautiful, custom motorhome for traveling the USA as we now know it, but forget the bugout vehicle idea. Look at any hurricane evacuation -- I evacuated for Wilma in 2005. Read "One Second After". The roads will be choked with dead cars, and this truck would be a big fat target for the bands of marauders. You can't refuel when there is no power, and the pumps are dry.

brilliant video. Eric does outstanding work. Whats his background? Military?
@animalmansurvivor14528 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Actually I'm not totally sure about his background....I think a lot of what he can do is self taught from years of tinkering. I'm not sure what else on top of that. We met at a campground and instantly knew we "spoke each other's language", so I asked if I could film his creation and he was thrilled. We were kinda trying to balance "play time" with "family time" that weekend, so we didn't get to talk all that much about other things. Thank you for watching this, we had tons (literally) of fun filming it!

do you have to have a cdl to drive that rig
@animalmansurvivor14528 жыл бұрын
No, I don't think so.
@robfromaz19778 жыл бұрын
I would say yes. That truck is rated for over 26,000 GVW and has air brakes. You would need a CDL to drive it.
@animalmansurvivor14528 жыл бұрын
The rig is not mine, I just shot the video for Eric (the man that built it) so the bottom line is I honestly don't know. It would not surprise me at all if he made major changes to things like brakes, since I know how handy he is with things like that. He built almost everything himself from scratch from plans that he drew up himself. I believe he told me he began this project by stripping away almost everything except the engine and parts of the chassis. A lot can be done with 9 years and tons of determination.
@robfromaz19778 жыл бұрын
It's definitely a cool truck and well put together. Being a truck driver years ago, I know that it would be almost impossible to modify the brake system to get away from air. Plus the brake release buttons are still on the dash as can be seen from the video. Either way thanks for sharing this video.

the new li ion batteries from tesla are 5200 amp hours and are the size of one of your deep cycle batteries. look into it
@animalmansurvivor14528 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I have researched them a bit, and I think they are great but too expensive right now. In about ten years or so, I think they may be more "main stream" which will drive the price way down. At that point they may become worth it. Just my humble opinion.
@graffskater2Rogue8 жыл бұрын
thank ya for the response! i was wondering how much was your battery bank? i picked up a tesla battery off of ebay for 1k (you have to use a li ion charger) and i am about to start testing it to see how it functions. li ion batteries dropped in price by 35% this past year so hopefully these new options will become cheaper and cheaper.
@animalmansurvivor14528 жыл бұрын
Are you asking about the battery bank in the rig in the video? That belongs to Eric (the man that built it) and I have no idea how much he spent on the batteries. I know he got them new and there are 24 agm batteries in there! My personal battery bank in my home currently has 3 group 29 deep cycle marine batteries from walmart. The way that I use them, even a small bank like that goes a long way though!
@incognito84488 жыл бұрын
jeep wrangler with a three inch lift running propane{which doesn't go bad after three months of setting in a tank}a pup tent some cookware ,fishing gear a few weapons .22 rifle for small game and less noise a .30-30 for the hungry bear and a .243 for the 800 yard deer shot.A few first aid items and a rand mcnally road map.Gas and Diesel will be a dead commodity in a short time but there are billions of propane tanks to be had!Number one rule will be "GET AWAY' setting on a trail with a monster sized military vehicle broke down and out of fuel will draw unwanted attention.

I'm not trying to say the rig is bad but, it's not a bug out vehicle, a bug out vehicle gets from A to B and mabey C safely and quickly with relatively no problems like people trying to steal from you because you have an eye magnet. It's a really good camper though!
