When my father was in junior college he made a cedar chest about 4 ft long, 2 ft deep and 20 in high. It is a treasured possession of mine that I store quilts in. When my grandfather died he gave up woodworking to run the family farm but would occasionally make small things. He would have disappeared into your workshop and never come out again.

I have stacks of sewing projects lined up and my excuse is always that I need my stuff organized first. Now that I'm learning carpentry, maybe I should make one of these. One of the first things I made when I had an interest in woodworking, was a tool rack for my small apartment where I would have all my tools at hand when I needed them and then I made a tool box in carpentry class. So no excuses for delaying any woodworking projects. 😉

Loving the gleam that the Briwax gives to everything - you can really see it in the fold out montages, the light glints nicely off of all the wood. And really enjoyed the use of the two tones for the handles/cantilevers against the dark-stained body. Lovely project once again!

Currently my shuttles and bobbins and all the other bits and bobs are in a cardboard shoe box that doesn't close properly, and I lose my hemstitching needle every time I want it, and the beeswax is never where I expect it to be.... Und so weiter! This would sit next to my weaving bench and I'd have everything to hand. It's so much better than the standard cantilevered boxes because of the drawers underneath.
