Carved Joiners Mallet Made From Oak Pallet Wood. A Mallet Out Of Pallet.

How I made a carved joiners mallet out of a piece of scrap oak pallet wood.
I've wanted a heavier wooden mallet for a while now, and this project was a great way to practice some Mjolnir-inspired carving..
I thought the endless Celtic knot was rather fitting for a piece of recycling.

I read that you've been doing this for 30+ years, it certainly shows in the quality of your craftsmanship.. you do magnificent work, you're very talented. I also like how you improvise during a project, I do that myself.. using the clamp and ruler to create an ark made me smile.😊 I see that you're a bit of a poet as well. Well, I've been all through the videos on your site, absolutely addicted to them. My dad was a joiner, served his time at Vickers Armstong (as it was then) at Barrow-in-Furness, Lancashire (as it was then) He would have spent hour after hour of pure enjoyment watching them over and over as I do. I'm originally from Cumberland, yes also as it was then. Now been living in Canada for nearly 50 years. Looking forward to the next video anxiously. Take care and all the best.

Neat trick with the rule & clamp! Gonna pinch that one! You need a slitting gauge to do those border cuts, much easier and more accurate than using the knife.

I'm not at the end of the video yet. You're just starting to skech out the design on the handle. But I'm excited to see if you burn the wood to seal it and make the carvings pop. So cool. You should teach a class. You'd make nice money doing it too. Videos are a great source of ideas to try but hands on with explanations on why or why not, priceless.
