I’m a little late to the party, but I’ll carry a lightweight knife around town and I have a heavy fixed blade in my car in case I ever get stranded somewhere. I had a concerned look on my face when you batoned with the Bugout, but I was amazed how well it held up. I don’t have a Bugout, but now I’m considering one. I typically carry a Spartan Enyo fixed blade in my front pocket. It’s really light even with the sheath. Excellent video!

Carry one of each, heavy one for bigger tasks and of soft stuff so the blade stays sharp. Light weight knife as a beater for anything and something you don't care if it gets a bit dull, because you used it to pull staples.

I have the Para 3 and the Delica I’d love to give that CRJB Pyrite a try. I’ve always been a lighter knife is the better edc because a knife is only good if you have it with you. If you always have a heavy knife in your pocket it can get tiresome and you may leave it home. That being said I’d love to mix it up and carry a heavier knife now and again.
@terrygreen6088 Жыл бұрын
i use to to carry lightweight then i wanted a fixed blade but it was to big for consealed carrie so in the end i got myself a coldsteel sr1 lite (wich is basically a fixed plade u can fold ) and god it is a beast you cant really destroy it with normal use/abuse but it wil destroy everythin you unleash it on love to have something that can deal with every problem i might run in to and more i never go light again

I prefer lightweight slicey folders tbh because they do the jobs I use folders for which is slicing stuff (food, cleaning small game, opening parcels, craftwork) easily with minimal hand fatigue and a fine tip gives me precision and control. For heavier tasks and even whittling, notching, carving I switch to my belt knife and for even heavier tasks I have dedicated choppers (if you see me trying to chop stuff with a short fixed blade having a blade length of less than 7 inches much less a folder, well I've been kidnapped and this is a cry for help 🙃) Trying to do it all with a folder means the design can't really excel at any specific task. Just my two cents.
