the legend delivered, thanks! I only ever adjust undistort K1 and K2 and the x/y offsets of the 2 cameras where as if one camera is at 0.25 the other is -0.25 while still applying everything you showcased here and it worked out great for me. Is there a magic button like with 3D 360 you showcased in your previous video?

​@@hughhou I just checked through my .vrenv files and sorry I was indeed have used undistort, but undistort a at 0.002 and undistort b at 0.001. Other values set are focal length at 10, my testing irl taking on/off the headset made 9.85 or so the ideal value and i round up just to have some leeway for weird warping on the edges and circle mask at 66. However all other values are at default or 0, so I never use pitch roll or yaw, since it always distorted something on vr180. I set Offset X and Offset Y individually for each clip, if camera 1 has an offset x on (minus) -1.527 then on camera 2 it would be (plus) +1.527, same with offset y. It is a bit of a pain to do it like this, but the results were most ideal. All the offset does is move the circle around precisely so the reason i think this works out so great is that if we assume the vr lens is perfectly attached and both lenses are 100% even then the x and y offset would be 0 as well, but even with how tight canons mount is, this can never be the case, so as its slightly rotated you too would need to equally move the right circle counter to the left one with the offsets. All that said I do assume this based on the actual lens being rotated ever so slightly when in a bag, not the tripod it stands on, even though i use the bubbler you recommend btw. If you like to see it yourself, check my channel trailer or better the netherlands rural tour video (this one is stationary). You may know this method, but the way you can see if stereo is good on any vr video if to close your left eye and open/close the menu repeatedly on most vr video players. To make it switch between 2d and 3d. That way you can easily identify how close objects move sideways and less ideal whether any object moves up and down. I hope this helps somehow, there seems to be quite a lot of ambiguity still with vr video, perhaps i should make a video on this method after all.

Super ! thanks a lot ! I wonder if it's possible to refine the stereo in davinci with the KartaVR tool. With Davinci/Karta and following your tutorial, I always have to choose between foreground or background vertical disparity. Would love to see a better/more advanced method to work with canon vr180 directly in Davinci and get a better stereo. Avoiding mistika and intermediate files would be perfect ! thanks

am I understanding right that during the "tilt to calibrate lef/right" frame, you're warping one lens image to match the other lens image?

5D won't work - only R5 or R5C - most of the time - go with the cheaper version of R5 unless you need RAW and 60fps in 8K

Hey Hugh! What program do you recommend I use to download 180 and 360 3D videos from KZbin? I'm looking for something that can download in the highest quality/least compression possible (better then compressed MKV or MP4 formats that 4Kvideodownloader uses). Also I need a way to crop and edit the downloaded footage but KZbin processes 180/360 video into it's own Equi-Angular (rather than the more standard equirectangular format). >>> GOAL: To download 4K and 8K 180 and 360 3D KZbin videos and crop to a 48:9 format and AI upscale (Topaz AI?) to 8K or even 12K 3D 48:9 videos (8192 X 1536 or up to 11520 X 4320) so they play at the highest quality on a 180 degree curved 48:9 ratio 12K passive 3D projector screen. (Looking to download educational documentaries to display in a school XR lab)

There is a 32-bit render option in Misitika. I am not familiar with Nuke so I don't really know.

Where can we find a video, shot with two or more 360VR cameras, where a visitor can teleport between the cameras to view an event from different angles? Example, set up 3 or 4 or 5 360 VR cameras. Connect to the stream with our HMD VR headset. See the event from a camera. Look around in 3d VR space and see another camera option. Click that to teleport to THAT other camera. Look around from there, and click to teleport to ANOTHER vr360 camera. Why is NO one doing this? Yes, I understand the Unity need to script it. However there is NO content anywhere that i can find that demonstrates this all wired up..... Seems obvious wanted....
