One thing about Video SEO, yeah its somehow hard to rank at the beginning, but still, in my opinion, the key in video SEO, is to find the right search keywords and terms, if you find some keywords with low search volume and low difficulty, you may break through the KZbin SEO algorithm, and maybe long-tail keywords will help here. anyway, it requires some consistency :) Thanks Nico for sharing this

Very true! I don’t know if you saw this one already - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXXIdaacncx8hZI - which includes many different techniques like the long-tail technique that I always recommend to people. These techniques in combination with the last one - doing research before everything else - makes it very possible for tiny channels. However, we both have practiced doing keyword research quite a lot already. For people who are new to this it is really not that easy in practice. Well, I hope I don’t discourage people in the way I phrase it in the video. 😬

I know launching a second channel is more of a niche topic than launching a first channel, but do you have any resources or suggestions about second channels? My existing channel mainly focuses on real estate while the new channel will be about Bitcoin, so on my new channel I was thinking of creating "sequels" to my existing videos such as "real estate vs Bitcoin - which is a better investment?" and linking to them via end screen as a way of bridging the two audiences. Any other tips will be much appreciated (other than use Morningfame, which I of course will use 😉)

Awesome, enjoy the new journey Jett! Yes, that is an excellent idea. As long as both channels have an overlapping audience, you can make use of that like you explain. It’s really in its core about the right audience for the channel and since you already have viewers who are likely to be interested in your new channel as well, make use of that. Otherwise you really start as a new channel. Of course, get creative with the videos where you send people from one channel to the other. Your real estate vs bitcoin idea could be two videos with the one pro real estate on the real estate channel and the one pro bitcoin on the bitcoin channel. And ideally anyone who finds one of them also watches the other one. Fingers crossed!

About your explanation around 8:30 onwards. When you choose very successful videos in the channel page of successful similar creators they will obviously be copied by many others. What’s the point of choosing the topic when so many other creators will make videos about it? When you are new, do you have any chance? Maybe because your video is newer it could have a chance? Otherwise it seems really hard to think that covering the biggest topics would help a small creator. Clearly when you use different keywords around a big topic it could make you rank, but then there wouldn’t be almost any search volume anyway, at least to those specific words. Just give us an insight about this mindset.

Very interesting question pal! Overall your point is very valid in many cases if you stick closely to the exact video topic. The reason is why I recommended it like this that identifying good video topics is something a new youtuber is still learning for the first time. So for them ‘inventing’ their own video topics is risky. You have to have more experience once you are able to come up with video ideas that you know will be enjoyed by many viewers. So the best thing - as long as you are not very skilled in this regard - is to copy video topics from other channels that have proven to work well like I recommend in this video. With that you can basically not do anything wrong. And then this is just a starting point for your research. The KZbin SEO tutorial that I linked here is one where you enter the link of a video from a big channel and then you continue to the #2 Keywords tab of Morningfame’s keyword tool where you get a big choice of related search terms. I hope with this small youtubers have a good start to make it work for them. :)

Indeed! In the beginning the challenge oftentimes is to find a way to easily create videos. Something like a standardized step by step process how you personally can create videos. How you research your video topics, plan the script, how to record everything, edit everything, ... In all the steps there usually are parts that create a lot of work and maybe you can simplify things so that you can produce decent quality with less work. This is a highly individual process which takes time to figure out but I bet over time it’ll get easier for you. :)

Thanks! Indeed, there is the so-called “tag stuffing” which is not allowed by KZbin. You do this when you basically copy and paste your tags into the description. However, including keywords in the description as part of human readably sentences is something that is even recommended by KZbin that we should do it. So it depends on how you do it. You could but that is a really bad idea. It will actually make your channel grow slower if you did. The problem is that bought subscribers are no real people who watch your videos. The subscriber count alone does not grow your channel. It’s the people who watch your videos that count. So always focus on attracting real fans for your videos. :)
