**CORRECTION: We DO have public transportation to the airport via the GoTriangle bus system. I misspoke** What's your experience been at RDU? Let me know in the comments below! WE do have public transit to the airport with the Go Triangle Bus 100 that will take you from the Go triangle transit center in Morrisville/Durham to the airport then to downtown Raleigh and NC State Univ and you can connect to the other routes from the transit center. I disagree with the wait times. In the summer we have had long lines and it took way more than 15 minutes. I would advertise that it is quick and easy. This time of the year yes, but during peaks travel times its been documented that it can take much longer. everyone should follow the 2 hour rule for domestic and 3 hours rule for International check in times.

@@AvDave yes, I completely misspoke about public transit. I got caught up with the light rail topic and forgot to mention the bus line. Unfortunately I can’t edit the video now but will add it to my pinned comment. And absolutely everyone’s mileage may vary on wait times. Can I ask if you have TSA pre check and waited longer than 15 minutes? I’m always through in 5-10 mins, but I try to avoid peak days and times for travel.

Really concerned that a Raleigh area real estate agent doesn't know that there is public transit that goes directly to the airport. GoTriangle has busses that can get you the airport from as far away as Holly Springs and Mebane and connections covers the cities of Raleigh, Durham, Cary, and Chapel Hill.

I appreciate you watching, and as I've addressed in other comments, I completely misspoke here. I had the light rail fresh on my mind when writing this, and I errantly left out the bus system, which was completely unintentional. I have added a correction chapter to the video, updated the subtitles with the correction, added a correction note into the description and to my pinned comment, and I've addressed the mistake in my response to any comment that mentions it. While I'm going to make mistakes from time to time, I hope my nearly 100 hours of video content otherwise demonstrate my breadth of knowledge about the area.

There's an airport bus that runs from downtown Raleigh. I've taken it a few times. It was inexpensive and quick.

Thank you for highlighting this. I got so caught up with the light rail that I misspoke about no public transit!

Great topic, Matt! I fly through RDU regularly and I agree with your observations about how easy and nice it is (I only have experience with American and United so Terminal 2). I'm curious about the new Breeze direct flights to San Diego - the planes look pretty nice but the flights are only offered several days a week and haven't synced up with my travel needs at this point. When I do make the move and want to fly back to San Diego for personal reasons, I'm definitely going to be trying out Breeze if they keep their insanely low-cost options ($89 one way back of bus!) but are able to maintain a sane and calm travel experience.

The last time I flew out on a Monday morning, I was worried that there'd be long lines at security and screening due to the AM rush. I was pleasantly surprised because TSA had sniffing dogs in use the move folks along more quickly. We didn't have to take our shoes off or take anything out of our bags as a result. The dogs made the screen process faster and I was still able to completely move through security for my early AM flight in rapid fashion.

eh, glad it has fans but - no Priority Pass lounges - much less direct flights than CLT, having the route on a map don't mean u can fly it. Lot of them are at impractical times and/or stupid prices. Sometimes they're like once a week. - few restaurants open late at night it's just barely bigger than a small town airport lol
