Thanks for this wonderful video! As a type 2 diabetic I went keto a few months ago and it was the best thing I ever did for my health. My blood sugar soon dropped to almost normal, after being high for years, with no help from my doctor I might add.

Congratulations!! My hubby was diagnosed with type two diabetes and I discovered keto as a lifestyle and have been showing him the way through the meals I’ve been making for him. He’s lost 60lbs and his doctor has been extremely happy with his progress but I wholeheartedly agree doctors don’t have the knowledge to provide information on keto lifestyle unless it’s Dr. Jason Fung who is one of the leading doctors on keto and intermittent fasting and he had been challenging the “establishment” for sometime on what true healthful eating is.

@@christyb7590 even some dietitians say oh you shouldn’t restrict the carbs that much. I asked why and she said because you can’t just eat bacon and eggs all the time. I said we don’t in fact we have bread and rolls and all kinds of things including ice cream! She said oh well then how do you restrict the carbs, i said by making everything from scratch. She said but do you figure out how many carbs are actually in the homemade bread with the flour etc., I said as a matter of fact I do but there isn’t any flour in my bread or rolls or any of my baking. She looked puzzled and I said I make bread using egg whites and egg white powder she said that was a new one for her and wanted to know what was in the egg white powder. I felt like rolling my eyes. My husband was saying to her yes, I have pizza with crust and hamburgers with buns and sandwiches with bread and meat, in fact if you didn’t know better you would think I was following the s.a.d. But it’s extremely low carb, moderate protein and moderate fat. But it’s the good fats, avocado oil, organic coconut oil. Everything we eat is made from scratch. My wife makes the most incredible desserts and we even have waffles made with eggs and cream cheese.

I've been doing IF since Dec 1, 2020 and lost 35 lbs...but since the 1st of the 2022 year I'd say the numbers didn't move and my body seem to be in a constant state of inflammation...so started watching some Carnivore KZbin's and decided to make a change just recently as of July 10, 2022 started doing more of a Carnivore diet and zero carbs...I've certainly noticed a change, don't feel every ache and pain like before and the arthritis I had in my thumbs is gone...I have more energy and slept better...and the numbers started moving, lost 3lbs!!!...I love watching your videos and you have the best friendly, humorous, loving attitude...thanks so much for sharing all these great recipes and tips...have a joyful, relaxing and safe weekend!!!!!!

I was very thankful when I was able to find some pork rinds at a reasonable price at my local fruit and veg shop. I don't usually go down that particular aisle but I was looking for pepitas/pumpkin seeds and found them, but not the pepitas. It is so nice to have something crunchy to munch on. Usually as a side to my tossed salad and meat dish.

I am currently reading the induction section of a book titled “Dr. Atkins’ New Diet Revolution”. It was published in 2002. One of the rules of induction is that nuts and seeds are not allowed. On page 133 of the book there is an example menu of an induction breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The sample induction dinner is 9 oz of broiled salmon, kale topped with garlic, lemon and sesame seeds. Question: Why are sesame seeds included in the sample dinner if nuts and seeds are not allowed during induction?

Looks delicious.!!!! When having friends over for dinner, if you absolutely find yourself in a situation when you have to serve some type of vegetable to your guests as a side dish to their steaks, I suggest "wilted lettuce " - iceberg lettuce with warm bacon grease as a dressing topped with a dollop of Miracle Whip with bacon bits liberally sprinkled (real bacon - not Bacos, which are derived from soy). Traditionally, I buy my beef at the State Fair on the hoof - usually about a half ton of Angus. Last year I got away with paying $4.00 a pound live weight The cost to have the animal slaughtered is $200 for a whole, payable directly to the rancher or farmer. who's selling some of his stock at the fair The cost to have the meat aged, cut, wrapped and frozen so it's ready to take home is $1.40 per pound hanging weight. Before the cow goes to slaughter, I usually have someone take my picture posing and smiling while standing next to the heifer. Years and years of these photos are proudly framed and hanging on the basement wall above my double deep freezer which sits right next to my "grinding station." which includes a vintage hand crank Weston model I bought on eBay

I grind dehydrated minced garlic and onion on everything! I also grind my black pepper and (Redmond) salt. I use a cool grinder that has a quick-change pod for each. I also put "Italian seasoning" and nutritional yeast on most of my steamed vegetables. Yum! Sous vide meats are convenient as hell. I "finish" them with a weed torch, and prep them with the above spice mixture plus liquid smoke and usually some spicy pepper such as crushed red pepper or ground dehydrated minced Serrano or Hatch green peppers.

I see a lot of arguments about the number of carbs to be ingested. I agree with the presenter that it depends on your goals and desire to succeed in a timely framework. If I was trying to lose lots of weight, I would strive to contain my carbs to 20 and no more than 30g. Same as trying to conquer a metabolic condition like pre or full diabetes. Also, do you want to achieve these goals fast or give yourself some time to slowly achieve them? In my case, weight was not a problem, but regardless, I was prediabetic. It took me 6 months and a low-carb moderate protein and slightly high-fat diet to achieve my goal. I also did intermittent fasting from 16-18/8 with two meals a day and increased my activity level. There is no such a thing as complete 0 carbs, but you can get close enough; how close is up to you? Right now, I am trying to gain back a couple of pounds and my carbs are set to 40-50, and I want them to be like that for the rest of my life to stave off the ghost of diabetes. I never track what I eat; I just know the foods and what to eliminate/avoid. If I had to track my carbs, cal, etc. I would have failed. I will continue to do IF and activities along with it. Some people can tolerate more carbs than others, but most humans are having problems with them for several evident reasons. That's a theme for another argument. So measure your goals, apply your solution and work hard to achieve them; adjust a bit as you seem feasible. Salute!

Hello 🙂I understand the logic of zero carbs... But in practice, it's not that straight. I'm an old lady by now, and I've tried it all. I've found that avoiding carbs is good, but be kind with it. Be kind with yourself and accept that you have a physical body. 30% of carbs is perfectly reasonable. You really don't need to cut every single carb out of your life. Take it from someone who survived an eating disorder. Carbs keep you alive. 🏵️🌸🌺
@davidfence6939
@davidfence6939 2 жыл бұрын
take from those of us who most 100+ pounds. it's not 30% it's 20-30g if you're looking to lose weight or reverse health conditions. if you're doing well you can experiment and find what your own body's carb limits are. For some active, athletic people over 125g of carbs a day is no problem. For others 50g is pushing it.

So is it possible to do the most nutritious carnivore on a budget? I'm a type 1 diabetic who's been doing keto but I can't afford grass-fed meats and butters and avocado oil. But why can't I have the least inflammatory meats as well? It's just not fair that we have to pay more to eat essentially less, i.e. diet food.

Add the KETO lifestyle with intermittent fasting and “Winner winner chicken dinner!” Add to that an occasional total fast for 24, 36, 48 hrs or more and you will not only lose weight but will lower your risk of cancer and other diseases and you will live longer. Don’t forget a couple low carb drinks each day, believe it or not, those who consume moderate amounts of alcohol each day live longer than those who do not drink. Oh, eat sauerkraut and other fermented foods.

Im bed bound most of the time due to a nerve compression pain at my abdomen frm a previous surgery. Nothing much can be done now since im pregnant other than rest in bed and wait for my delivery date. To minimise my risk of gaining unnecessary weight and probability of getting gest DM, ive been on a low carb diet ie >70 gms/ day and choose keto options for my meals and snacks. Being asian and living in southeast asia where rice is eaten 3x a day and cheese is not part of our diet it has been a struggle to create an enjoyable, palatable menus. Probably going keto till after 6 weeks post partum or till i get bck to my pre pregnancy weight

@200Nora
@200Nora 2 жыл бұрын
you did not ask me, but I use almond and coconut flour sparingly to make some quick toast for my breakfast, sandwich, and the occasional moderately sweet treat. It is not an everyday thing. However, it adds a little variety and normalcy to my keto menu. We must try to keep the sweet taste from getting to our brains. The brain does not distinguish between processed/ refined or non refines sugars/glucose. It may act by ordering some insulin release regardless, even if it is a small amount; we want to avoid it on most days.

I love wild caught sockeye salmon! It has the best flavor. The most important thing is DO NOT overcook the salmon. This allplies to any seafood. Stop cooking when it's almost done. It will continue to cook after you remove it from the heat. We often put a thin spread of basil pesto on the fresh side of the salmon before cooking. Another option is to eat a small amount of thos sauce on the cooked salmon: 1/2 c full fat sour cream, 1-2 Tbsp lemon juice, Himalayan sea salt and either dill or Mediterranean seasoning to taste.

She never took spatula to the store. Spatula was hoping for a day out shopping 😔. Great content on zero carb foods though.

That crustless pizza looks yum 😋 I'd probably add some bacon and an egg in as well.

The problem is grass fed organic in UK is getting to be very expensive and not all shops sells organic even the beef lamb pork that we sell of our land are not all grass-fed throughout the year the average person who's on a small budget cannot afford Organic 👍👍
