Excellent video Caner!! I’d say making a good resume, applying for the job, get the interview done is the hardest part. The training is easy but you have to study hard. Major Airlines don’t like to see applicants jumping from airline to different airline, they like loyalty so you worked at your current airline for good amount of time then you make your move. If you are applying for Southwest Airlines, make sure to apply at every window as soon as it’s open. If you live in USA, very important to attend job fair and bring a resume and going there to see the recruiters. Good luck everyone!!

You are the kind of pilot we need more off. Those who SPEAK UP and take COMMAND of a situation when they see the Captain making a mistake or going against SOP. Many many MANY accidents could have been prevented if the FO had spoken up. Excellent video. Fly high my friend!

Thank you very much for your comment and I agree many accidents could have been prevented if CRM techniques have been applied properly in the cockpit. Please keep sharing your opinion for the other videos too :) Thanks.

How did you get to a U.S. work permit? Green Card or EB2 visa? How did you do your FAA ATP, radio operator, medical? It would be great if you can explain your journey - I figure it took you a lot of deliberate planning and effort! All the best
@CanerAcarbay

I already had a greencard before applying jobs. I got it through DV lottery. I converted my license to an FAA equivalent.You can watch a dedicated video on my KZbin channel about conversion. Medical and Radio permit is a one-day process.

Hi Caner, thanks for sharing your thoughts about the hiring process for US Airlines. I think a lot of what you mentioned can be helpful for any professional position a person is applying for. Enjoyed hearing your story about having to do a Go Around and refreshing the Captain on Company rules.

Hi Caner, fan of your videos here! I wanna ask about a case on someone that moved to another airline and entered it as a first officer even though he/she was a captain from the previous airline, is it a common case? and what made this possible? thanks man
@CanerAcarbay
@CanerAcarbay Жыл бұрын
This is a very common case in the US. If you join a company, you start from the bottom in the seniority list. There is no direct hiring captains in the US. Even if you are a 20000+ hours captain on any type, you have to start from the bottom as a first officer.

Such a great information thank you very much for this i was disappointed about myself that i have no confidence but I’ll try my best and try to be professional.when you said be motivated then i decided to never give up in my life.Again thanks a lot ❤ BTW I’m also going to South Africa to become a pilot within two months I’ll continue to watching your videos and you can suggest me to do things after CPL with multi engine. You know when the CPL will be completed there will be only 200 or 250 hours after this what should i do to be a first officer in an Airline.

Caner Abi Merhaba, bir soru soracaktım da, pilotlara her yıl yapılan sağlık testlerinde diyelim işitme testinde sınırı 30 desibel üstü olunca, uçuşa elverişsiz ibaresi kağıdınıza vuruluyor mu, şirkette pilotluğunuz bitiyor mu, çünkü yaşlandıkça artık işitmede azalıyorda o yüzden

Hi Caner, nice video! Im a B737 pilot in Europe and I'm thinking about joining a major American airline when I have the hours required. Can you explain how the process is in terms of converting your license, green card, salary/taxes, benefits of working in the US? Do you need a green card/visa to apply or do you have to get hired to get the green card, working visa etc? If I were to join an American airline (with my 737 rating) would I be able to fly international flights? (777 would be a dream)
@CanerAcarbay
@CanerAcarbay Жыл бұрын
Hello, I answered each of your questions in my videos. Actually, main point of this channel is to explain the questions you asked. You need to have a green card to apply any American carrier. Type rating is not important in the US. You can fly any type you wish as long as your seniority holds the aircraft you would like to fly.

Capt you are really helping a lot by giving a lot of relevant information. Capt could you please help me a little? I am CPL holder from India earlier I was planning to do TR on A320 but now planning to do TR on B737 due to changed circumstances. As you have many thousands hours of experience flying B 737. Could you please guide me what should I study or how should I prepare myself for B737 type rating. Is there any website or any material available on KZbin? Thanks in advance Capt.

Mentour Pilot has always said don’t do a typerating unless it is connected to an actual airline job. There is a risk you will have to redo it due to company specific operating procedures. And then you basically have paid twice for that typerating.
@CanerAcarbay
@CanerAcarbay Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't recommend a type rating without a job offer. Don't risk your money for the type ratings!

Hey Caner, first of all I would like to say thank you for your videos, you are really talented. I'm half Spanish half American, I have a US passport because my Mom is from Seattle. Currently I live and I'm based in Plama de mallorca (Spain). I have 2000 hours on A320 and 2250 total time. Do you think that such of Airlines as United or Delta would call me with my experience? I also have unrestricted FAA ATP + TR A320. Thanks man for your help and again, congrats for your channel, today I saw almost all your videos :) Best

Regardless of nationality, as long as you have a working permit, you can be employed in the US. There is no discrimination based on your nationality in the US.
