This sounds fantastic. I'm a professional touring guitarist who moved over to the helix about a year or so ago but i want to get a valve amp back into my rig. Coupled with my helix, this seems like the perfect solution. Real great high class valve tones with the consistency needed on these type of shows

@@RevvAmps I'm in the same situation! Professional that went helix for consistency and flexibility. But, I really feel the need of a real amp... My concern and question for you: in the g20 there's only one EQ for all channels, does it really work? From clean to high gain lead and everything in between? I believe in you guys, but it seems hard to believe

Hey Shawn, I use Helix in 4CM with a Mesa TC-100. Killer combo. One thing you didn't mention in this video (that makes 4CM so powerful with Helix) is replacing the G20's preamp with one of the amps in Helix. Total tonal control. Helix controls my amp switching via MIDI. I've got an H9 in one of the loops and it can be switched pre/post. The only thing limiting my rig is my imagination. I would love to have a G20 for the Two-Notes backend features. And if I had a G20 I could put together a wet/dry rig into a single stereo 4x12. How killer would that be? 7CM. I love Helix.

Awesome video. They sound great together. My favorite way to use my Helix is putting my tube amp and two notes captor in the effects loop of the Helix. I use the Helix as an IR loader and for drives and effects. Works great plus it gives you the ability to run stereo effects if you want.

I've been using the HXFX in 4cm very impressed with the quality of the effects. Shawn, did you have to adjust the levels of the loop in the Helix to keep from clipping the effects that go behind the preamp? I had to lower mine to -18db to keep from clipping. This demo really gets me GASSing for a Revv.

Without sounding silly, what is this trying to achieve (not familiar with this setup)? Is it to add tube warmth from the clean channel on g20 to pass through almost as an effect for the helix, but then pass back in from helix back to amp so end signal chain is in the amp? Wonder does it sound much different direct out from helix or via helix amp emulation vs added tube warmth? Many thanks. Very interesting demo. Trying to work out whether d20 or g20 are suitable for me.

What a fantastic demo, I've got all that but never thought to "4 cable it together " to use out side of studio, Although I use the Two Notes studio not the Revv G20 perhaps it's time to try it. Anyway I always check your videos and as usual great job, what's next?

Great video - Surely this amp would work great with the boss es8 switching system I have - 4 cable in use now with a carvin Legacy 3 head - re tubed with ecc 83's & 6L6 - have been looking for a smaller newer modern voice like an engl , PRS Mt15 , peavey invective - I think this amp is the no brainer with so many features and the Generator voiced stand alone sound -

Excellent video. I have a helix, two notes CAB M and all 3 Revv pedals. I am trying to decide between the G20 or D20. I am leaning toward the D20, since I have the pedals.
@RevvAmps4 жыл бұрын
I would just decide based on how you like to get your tones from a workflow standpoint. If you like using all the pedals for gain I'd get D20 but if you'd like to maybe eliminate some of the pedals and use the G2 as a boost or something like that get the G20. It will sound great either way so it'll just be about the playing experience IMO.

Are you able to bypass the amp and use the amp models in the HX Stomp when it’s hooked up to the D20? I just got the HX Stomp a few days ago. Haven’t hooked it up yet because I’m waiting for the right cables for my power supply.

If it would help I recreated all four presets within the G20's embedded TwoNotes if folks are interested, but I'll only give a public link with Tubbs' blessing. Note that when you store presets on the G20 it does NOT store the Wide nor the Pre/Post button selections (I'll contact Revv directly and request this feature to be added via a firmware update if possible). Those two currently must to be selected either manually, thru the Revv footswitch, or via midi. All other settings switch as they should. Regards.
@RevvAmps4 жыл бұрын
You absolutely can! Shawn wouldn't mind at all. I will ask him again to see if he can export these for you guys when I talk to him tomorrow so maybe Shawn's "real" ones will come out as well!
@TheSavage19694 жыл бұрын
Ok, here it is (take note of the limitations stated above, the TwoNotes preset does NOT store the Wide nor the Pre/Post button state, you must do those manually or via midi). These presets are very likely 100% correct analyzing the control graphics in detail - 1drv.ms/u/s!AoUeBBKP6MtQ5XnJv9pCxE0ETyq6

It would have been ideal if Revv had implemented the BT capabilities of other TwoNotes hardware so we could quickly make changes via the Torpedo Wireless Remote app. Then, in a live scenario, no need for a laptop to make changes within the software. This is a feature sorely missed while running direct out of the G20 to FOH and needing a quick tweak to the integrated software.
@JosteinChrAndersen4 жыл бұрын
Good stuff! :-) I would probably not use the 4-cable method here, at least not in a live situation where stuff is recorded or streamed and where I don't need speakers. I would in general feed the non-modulation and non-ambiance stuff into the G20 and feed G20's output with or without IRs into the Helix again, and then let the Helix's outputs take care of the FOH and eventually other stuff.

The only difference between the way you described and the 4CM is that your stated way is actually more limited as you couldn't use any of the floor unit's FX pre the amplifier (G20 in this case). You can always put other hardware pedals/FX in the 4CM either before the floor FX unit (helix) and/or between the floor's FX send (helix) and amp's input (G20). 4CH is simply giving more options but to each there own. Running to FOH is not relevant because both units have balanced direct outputs (G20 has XLR out). Regards.
@JosteinChrAndersen4 жыл бұрын
The example I gave is perfect for me, thank you! It's simpler, cover my needs and I would get the stereo out. If I needed the 4CM, I would use that method, believe me! :-)
