Today I'm talking about the performance differences between every tier IV 5.3 BR Bf109: G14, G14/AS, G10, K4. There are a lot of misconceptions about the differences between these Bf109s (I've had some as well), such as the G14 being the best turning 5.3 BR Bf109. With the help of testing to determine the truth, I present the actual differences between these Bf109s in Speed, Climb, Roll, Turn, and MER, and I add my recommendation of which Bf109 you should be using. Haha glad I delivered! Welcome! How did you come to find this video so early if you aren't a sub? G6 is a slightly slower G14, so it deserves 4.7 BR or so compared to the G14 (which could be 5.0 compared to the K4). Already 4 aircraft on the same graph is the limit for clarity haha.

I would love to see a complete 109 sheet, as the difference between the g2 to the g6 and finally to the k4 interest me due to the br difference. My favorite out of feel is the g6, even though its the worst out of the mw50 wielding 109s, the low br makes it feel decent. Basically the horsepower of a 5.3 109 for slightly worse characteristics all around, it feels like a bastard between early and late 109 playstyles and i love it for that

@@AdamTheEnginerd Oh I love it! I just started using local host from watching one of your vids. I was interested in figuring out when I should be switching supercharger gears. I know there is the spreadsheet but I was always skeptical on that data. Started using local host and figuring out altitude to change gear at based off of thrust and horsepower and got much different numbers so thanks for that. Id also like to calculate max rate of climb (Vy speed) for a few planes that I like to fly the most but haven't gotten that far yet.

Gear switch alt also depends on speed a bit. I also find the switch altitude myself.

I always assumed that the D-30 had better sustained turn but a few days ago a D-5 was turning better even though I had landing flaps on. Also, I think spitfire mk vb vs. mk ix would be informative. And P-47D-28 vs N-15. And maybe Yak 7 vs. Yak 1 vs. Yak 9. But yeah. Congrats on 5k

@@AdamTheEnginerd I was at 30 mins fuel, which is the same as the D-5's minimum. I was also spaded. Maybe the landing flaps on the D-30 bleed too much energy? I was pretty surprised too. But it was just a sustained flat turn with equal starting energy.

That might have been true before the introduction of the Italian G14/AS, wheere the German G14 got the low altitude version of the powerplant. Now the G14 is the worst at high altitude.

Still find it funny that the G10 is better than the G14 when i thought the G14 was better or evenly matched with the K4 however everytime i see a K4 i try out turn it at low alt. I'll think about it! Yeah I haven't flown the D30 much since the rudder nerf. I flew it recently and did pretty well, but the rudder is just a shame. Haha 1vs8 doesn't happen to me really, because I rush in and try to kill the enemies as they kill my team. Highest I faced on KZbin is 1vs5 I think.

i for some reason always liked the g10 more. it felt more maneuverable and lighter. probably a placebo because i thought lighter = more maneuverable (not most of the the time. it isnt this simple ofcourse) now i'll finally walk away from my g10 and see if i can have the same dogfights in the k4! after bnz'ing the higher priority targets ofcourse. thanks for the video!

Nice video. I always felt the k4 had a very good performance, even pre-buff. Btw any chance you might cover the meteor mk3?(I know its a jet and you mostly like to play props.). I am struggling with how to achieve a fun match in it. Granted its stock and all, but even so. Also, kind of disappointed about no godmode aim kills in the video, but I know there will probably be some in the next one :D

Thanks! Depends what buff you are talking about. A bit more than a year ago it couldn't pull more than 7Gs, it was pretty harsh. Meteor is on my list! It was my first jet, fighting props. It was fun. Sorry about the lack of aim though haha.

@@AdamTheEnginerd My first Jet was the ho 229, and although the guns were abysmal I generally had a fun time flying it. But with the meteor mk3 everything seems to be abysmal. guns have an insane spread making headons difficult. I generally try to avoid headons, but the mk3 is so slow that I often find it is my only possibility of getting a kill. its too slow to dictate the fight, and generally you are vs teams of superior jets the british cannot control, even though it turns really nice. I have tried climbing and attempting to be the controller, I have tried staying low and being the supporter(my most successful style in the mk3 so far.). I have tried rushing tree level to be the initiator. Nothing seems to work. I am enjoying the challenge, but it can get really frustrating being dependent on a team, if said team always seems to be a let down.

It used to be a beast years ago and got nerfed again and again and again to a point where it was near useless, they buffed it a bit and now it's just a good rank IV. G14 was overperforming when it came out, they nerfed it and now it's pointless because it shares the K4's BR and the K4 was buffed in perfs and with the 20mm nose gun.

Hey man. Great video. There is certainly a comparison that you must do - you know this... Do exactly the same comparison, but with the p51s and spits at that BR. you already have the k4 data, so you wont need to run those again. Seriously - that would be sick awesome.

Yup! But Bf109s have been like this for a while with no recent changes and no one is really complaining about them, so it should last! And the conclusions shouldn't change much even if they are changed.

4:24 I think the higher lift coefficient of the Bf 109K-4 compared to other Tier IV Bf 109s has a lot to do with the clamshell wheel well doors covering the outer part of the front wheel wells. The clamshell doors essentially "smooth" the wing shape and increase its efficiency, whereas the previous Bf 109s had interruptions in the wing shape caused by the partially exposed main landing gear wheels (that reduced the efficiency of the wings). Really the wheel well doors, for a weight increase of just 4kg per my calculations, add A LOT to the Bf 109's performance.
