Austin Custom Brass by Adams Coppernicus Trumpet ultimate mouthpiece demo!
Have you ever wondered why I love the ACB by Adams Coppernicus so much? Here's a demo to show the horn's crazy versatility with a 6-mouthpiece test!
Here are the mouthpieces I used:
Schagerl ACB Custom 1C (ish)
ACB TA-FX super deep hybrid
ACB TA-TF deep hybrid
ACB Ta1-CS (Around a 3/4 C in a "Bach world")
ACB Pops (based on one of Louis Armstrong's old pieces)
ACB TA-Z
Check out these mouthpieces on our web store:
www.austincust...
www.austincust...
www.austincust...
If you have any questions email us at mpcsales@austincustombrass.com or call our Mouthpiece Hotline +1-781-816-9664
Now switching so quickly between mouthpieces isn't the easiest thing to do but I wanted to provide an honest 1st-take of everything so I just went from one to the next in one take. Let us know your favorite in the comments!
Interested in picking up a Coppernicus? We have them in stock!

Trent, that's an *incredible* sounding horn - beautifully rich, creamy sounding, spot-on intonation/pitch, apparently really nice slotting, too. You really demonstrated its versatility by switching out your mpcs. Super-fine horn.

That's a flumpet, a flugelhorn in a trumpet-like body. Beautiful, mellow, lush, smooth sound. That finish is absolutely the most beautiful thing I've ever seen on a trumpet. That would be awesome in 4 valves.

Great Vid, Trent! I loved the singing voice texture of the Apredato. TA-FX was nice and flugel-ish. TA-TF also very smooth ... it would be interesting to hear this one with you pushing a bit more, as all you played on it here was soft and mellow. The TA1-CS made me think that you could play that horn and MP combo in any setting = the most well-rounded and lovely trumpet sound. The Pops was stunning ... yes, you did sound like Satchmo! That one really has it's own fingerprint sound = wild! TAZ is what it is = lead time and bright! Sounds great, but unless you are playing lead I prefer the Apredato and TA1-CS the most. Coppericus is such a sweet horn too! Well done, Trent!

Wow, nice demo! You really warmed up for this one. :) The range of tones with the different mouthpieces was incredible I'm not sure I've ever heard such a difference before. Copper must be more resonant, able to showcase and flex the different shaped notes. I have a copper bell tube which starts to do that... Is any shepard's crook designed for sound or style?

Those first two or three mouthpieces look like flugelhorn mouthpieces. you can get the same type of sound on any trumpet if you use that type of mouthpiece. In fact, although it doesn't fit properly, just for fun, I have put my flugelhorn mouthpiece into my B flat trumpet and it does indeed sound extremely warm.

Hello Trent, thank you for this video. The horn sounds SO good. In this video, is that the "T" blank on both the TA-TF and TA1-CS? Can customers custom order this blank? Last, would you say the "T" blank has more"flexibility" than the Modern blank? Thank you for all that you provide the trumpet community!

I play with an old but perfect condition COAST 2C mouth piece. I never hear anyone playing a 2C. What's the difference between my 2C and the 1C and 3C? I like it. I play a gorgeous deep rich sounding vintage King Liberty trumpet in art deco hand carved design from the late 20s -early 30s, that I inherited from my father in law. He played it in the band era in a brass group that played all King instraments, called the Kings of harmony, on a cruise ship to England. The sound is incredible and the Art deco design is gorgeous with hand carved desings. It's beautiful silver with a gold bell. Again in perfect condition. I read once, it was the best trumpet made at that time. Am I right? Do you know anything about the King trumpets made in the late 1920s-early 30s?

Hi Trent I have been enjoying your videos. I am currently playing schilke B 5 L that I got way back in 1974. I was wondering if you could recommend a couple of mouth pieces that may decrease the resistance of that particular trumpet. a more open feel . My primary mouthpiece has been a bach 7 E for quite a long time. I also have a schilke 14 a 4 A and a bach 1 1/2 c and a bach 11Dw with a rim I kinda like. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts thank you for the videos

Couple reasons: the trumpet responds differently and has more tonal colors, the Coppernicus lets me go from flugel to trumpet in the same solo, and it's much easier to tour with 1 horn!
