Wow that water jet makes a really clean cut. It's amazing the way it cuts through that huge log with ease creating little, if any, loss of wood in the process. In the next ten years all timber will be cut with this method as it is so cost effective and environmentally friendly.

@ariesmajor
@ariesmajor 10 жыл бұрын
The jet would be halway across the studio bouncing all over the place, you'd have to get really close to it for it to do any damage, and since its always pushing away from the stream of water creating a large gap between the cutting jet and the object its trying to cut......you need someone to hold the damn thing for it to cut anything.

Aries Major Nope. Super dangerous even without back pressure. In this country operators must wear kevlar suits and full helmet, air supply etc etc. This came about from several very nasty deaths and injuries. As in operators not being in one piece anymore or have injection injuries that you dont want to know about.

yeah ik im a little late but this is the stupidest statement I have seen in a while, that monstrosity of a hose can not kill someone by cutting them it would be easier to get cut by paper a wooden log that has not been treated properly can become very weak and bugs will eat away at trees, plus if you saw the water coming out from the side of the log that also shows part of the log has been either hollowed or bugs just ate the wood.

Haha, its only High pressure. Ultra is from 4000Bar (58015psi) and up. Then you can cut steel, like the did with the blown pipes at burning oil-wells in Iraq. Just too point out

Everyone keeps saying "this is pointless use a chainsaw"! "this video is stupid" or "i just wasted 3 minutes of my life". The whole point of the video is to advertise pressure washers! Did nobody look up that phone number in the title? It's a phone number that will get you cutting logs just like this guy in no time at all! Also, that video description...dang.

It's NOT the water; it's the silica sand in it!! When you put water under thousands of pounds per inch of pressure and add silica sand to it, the grains flow at a fantastic speed, cutting through ANYTHING. You need not only a pressure tank, but also a super multiplier for that pressure to mount to that level. And, btw, it is extremely dangerous what these people are doing as a "demonstration" in there. Someone could lose an arm in no time!

This comment section though... It's not supposed to be efficient or clean cut! It's supposed to be a cool display of how strong pressurized water can be. No need to be all "why not use chainsaw instead >:("

Chainsaw is much faster and doesn't require all that energy, so leave the wood cutting to North Americans and Russia

He should have started at the bottom of the log. That way he would not be shooting into a puddle. Allegedly such machines are ideal for stripping rust and paint. They also wash away salts. the snag is the high cost of the machine.
