Kaspersky was not required to give any refunds. Well, Bitdefender and ESET still good, or anything problematic going on with their software too?

Im in USA and still have Kaspersky on my PC lol

the simple fact the software chose to replace itself with something unwanted, just shows it cant be trusted in the first place. i recommend reinstalling the whole system instead of just removing the new software.

Kaspersky is the Best AV. IDC what others say about it.

Strangely enough, Kaspersky is still on my system, and as of an hour ago still updating itself. I am dumping UltraAV

I thought I got malware when that got installed and I uninstalled it literally yesterday Kaspersky was actually good

Literally had to buy bed defender after figuring out and installed ultra AV. This is just a big FU to the consumer in the US. I could’ve just taken the refund or at least give us an option to refund us instead of just given us some shitty antivirus

i didn't know that my Kaspersky Premium is not updating since last month just didn't know , i have to uninstall it, damn i have it for 5-6 years now BUT mine didn't switched ...what is good to replacement please??
@vincentlemoinefrАй бұрын
I don't think they chose, I think they were legally binded to replaced themselves for another product, and they went for the cheapest route.

So what should I use now...all the others seem to be "less" than Kaspersky. Could you just give me direction without telling me to watch a bunch of videos...I need protection now.

How can the ban technically affect US users ? If you download the .exe and install it, what happens ? Or can't get the .exe ? What about a free vpn like proton or opera's, just for the downloading ? Could someone explain ?

wait, if u download the kaspersky package from a non US source, and install it ini the US, will it still delete itself? I dont see how the gov has any right to interfere with my choice of AV on my PC.

at the moment, I grabbed the package from switzerland of all places lol. it currently appears to be working outside of one thing, it cannot seem to connect to the KSN, but thats alright. currently running free version.

But how does ultraAV fare in terms of virus protection?
@DivinebootsАй бұрын
Short answer: dog shit! I ran a few tests on it about a week ago in preparation for this switch and it was so bad I actually recommend using windows defender over it. Yes you read that right, there so shit they can’t even beat out the default option!

I add folders and whole drives to exclusions and it unpauses itself then proceeds to destroy a recovery drive I was working on with no history(or so I thought) of what it "cleaned" or quarantined inside the software. I realized when you open the recover files you have to click the load button at the top right. Seems to me it's exclusions do not work at all, unfortunate I really liked kaspersky. I'll keep experimenting and might keep it on this machine for now. If anybody reads my comment opinions on the next best trustworthy av would be appreciated I'm off to keep researching 🕵♀
