Just pressed my half's and noticed this gap between them... I had to come confirm from you, my counter reference guy 😁 🤝 now I can relax was damn worried... There is need to install some rubber like gasket to seal the gap otherwise the dust into the gearbox will be too much...

Very interesting project. I really admire your craftsmanship. That you make all these parts with only a limited amount of high end machinery is really impressive. I am also interested in homebuild helicopters but I can't even read technical drawings so I have to buy a kit with allready machined parts. Currently the Mosquito and the Helicycle are my favorite candidate. However, I will not start building until I finished my PPLH license. I found the plans for your machine on the internet. Interesting, the design seems to be from the early 2000. Do you know if there are flying machines out there. I mean really flying not just hovering in ground effect. Could not find anything on KZbin, do you know if there is a kind of "user group" somewhere? Thanks

Fantastic. ST brackets top {bolted from underneath} looks like more metal could come off flat tags "tappering toward bolt shaft" rather then square to cut as much weight as possible etc.... . Get a big allen key & chop off bent end {to use for sockets} ....weld blob on one end of shaft "then square" blob to fit socket's and use this in cordless drill with sockets for bolts - to save wrist all that turning {looks painful to me}. Great project. Pitty you dont have your basic plans laid out in case others see improvements, eg Im sus of another video showing counter rotating blade regarding the belt to reverse one shaft { looks like the rubber doesnt have enough "gear hug" to make bloody sure it doesnt want to slip & thin belt guide disk} and also the bearings for that belt or that bearing shaft didnt look strong enough / support lacking? Your doing a beautiful job & Im thinking of doing something similar, but 2 washing machine motors for counter rotating {but its pie in the sky for now}.

Maybe if you tried crowdfunding and got $1-$5 each from a few thousand viewers you could get a Rotax 582. I'd put $5 in. finding a high output and low weight engine is not going to be cheap regardless the option you end up going with. There really are not any cheap ways to get what you need. Even an older Rotax 503 is stupid expensive.
