Congratulations Page Family! 🎉🎉🎉 I'm a Twin and here is my biggest tip: DO NOT name them rhyming names. Yes, it may sound cute to have Flo and Moe or Terry and Jerry. Resist the urge because...the hardest part about being a twin is your identity. Most people struggle with finding who they are when they are growing up, but when you're a twin, it's extra hard. The world is forcing you to be "Thing 1 and Thing 2." It's worse if your family does the same thing. So let them be their own people. Don't force them into rhyming names, wearing the same colors, or doing the same activities. Trust me they will be a lot happier and grow into their own special people a lot faster! Best of luck!! 👍Please like this so they can see the tips and trick.👍 Personal Identity is the biggest part of being a twin.

I cried when I found out I was having twins (it was my first pregnancy and I was only 19) it was completely overwhelming. Twins are a special gift not many people get to experience, You are so lucky. As for the actual babies I found twins easier than any single child because it mean't they always had a friend, there was no crying baby when you went to pee and they used to babble away to each other and giggle, it was super cute. Double congratulations xxx

My twins were born when my son was 23 months old- so I get it! 3 kids under 2 is hard, but a good hard. Here goes: 1- With all the bedrooms upstairs, we set up a diaper changing station downstairs, which was extremely helpful. 2- I know some have said feed 30 minutes apart, but we learned really quickly that the goal became to make sure to feed roughly around the same time. So if one wakes up in the middle of the night to feed, wake the other and feed also, otherwise they'll be tag teaming you constantly. 3- Same with naps- when one is sleepy- put them both down! 4- One tricky thing was when all 3 got sick and I was giving them tylenol or antibiotics. Keep a paper with their names and times and doses of what meds so you don't have to remember it all. I would just stick it on the fridge and it was easy to remember to write it down. 5- Buy one/Get one sales are the BEST with twins! Score! 6- We were able to block off one room of our house with an expandable baby gate that we used as the "baby room". They had all their toys in there and that's also where we put the diaper changing station for the downstairs. 7- This is a marathon, not a sprint, so enjoy it as much as humanly possible because there will come a day when you will miss having your arms so full! They will grow up, but enjoy the NOW. (mine just turned 15!)

The suggestion about the list for medications was spot on. As a nurse and a mother, I found out that when you have multiple people keeping an eye on the kids, even if it is all family that are nurses or have a medical background, you need to keep track of everything. So, the thermometers, and the medicine/fever charts with a pen attached were right by the bottles of medications with plenty of clean oral syringes and tube spoons in a cup nearby. That way everyone knew when which child got what, and what their fever was.

When she said she was really sick, I was pretty confident it was multiples not a miscarriage, being sick and staying sick is usually a good sign, sickness stopping early can be a sign of a missed miscarriage.
@kellymary24445 жыл бұрын
@@anneharrison1849 I was not sick at all in any one of my three very healthy pregnancies. So don't think if you're not sick that something's wrong.
@anneharrison18495 жыл бұрын
@@kellymary2444 You misunderstand (sorry, I was not clear), not being sick at all is fine, but being sick and it stopping before it would naturally stop (usually around 12 weeks, but whatever is normal for you) can be a sign that the baby has passed, but you have not naturally miscarried it and thus a scheduled scan will reveal a missed miscarriage. So I was saying that the fact she was sick and sick worse than usual and that it hadn't stopped was a good sign. I've had more than one friend who have had pregnancies where they stopped feeling sick earlier than in prior pregnancies, hoped that this meant that they were expecting the opposite gender, only to find at ultrasound that the baby had passed. My mum wasn't sick at all with her pregnancies which were both fine, unfortunately I didn't inherit this from her and just got sicker each time. If Jordan had said in the car I've been really sick but it stopped last week, then I'd have been worried.

This is so funny. When we were pregnant with our last, we told our son he was going to be a big brother. He said he wanted two. We laughed at him, "No, you only get one." had a couple doctor appointments, listened to one heartbeat, everything was fine. And then the ultrasound. And like you, complete shock. I don't even remember driving home. Thankful that big brother didn't ask for like six, haha. CONGRATULATIONS! It's so much fun. Exhausting and yes, the morning sickness was the worst, but as you already know, totally worth it. My biggest advice: don't stress about all the "twin" things. You'll get some crazy suggestions, you'll be told to respect their individuality, you'll have all these comments and recommendations of how to "raise them right." Just go with your gut. My boys came as a matched set and I read everything I could on twins. I tried to respect their individuality. I didn't call them "the twins." Unfortunately, when they were up to shenanigans, it was just quicker for me to say, "guys, stop that." "Come on guys." When we were at the back-to-school BBQ (Kindergarten), a child from the boys' class approached. "I know them, they're in my class. They're twins." And before I could say anything, Twin B whirled around and yelled, "STOP CALLING US THAT!" He thought the kid was calling them names. Oh boy. We had to have a talk about what twins are and that they are special. My boys never traded places. And no matter how hard they tried to be different from each other, they still ended up doing the same things: If they were picking a cereal in the morning and they were both in the kitchen at the same time, then they would pick different cereals, but if they came downstairs one at a time, they always ended up choosing the same cereal. We never forced anything on them. We never told them they had to wear the same clothes, although, sometimes (if they didn't see the other get dressed first) they would end up with similar outfits. WOW! that was a really long comment. Sorry. Again, Congratulations! And just trust your gut.

Only get one crib. Twins like to be touching each other and will cry if they are apart. Get everything done early. Twins are born 4-7 weeks early and may be in intensive care nursery for a while. Be prepared to come home without the babies at first. Sad, but they will soon be home. Mine were in separate sacs but are identicals. They will have a close bond for the rest of their lives. No one in my family has as many as I do. So I'm looking forward to the journey ahead. Your an awesome mother! And I just watch the Mormon video this morning. I haven't been active for awhile but I am working on going back. Thank you for the encouragement and the happy news!

Hey girl hey! I’ve never once in my life ever been pregnant nor had the scare. This May I found out I was pregnant; in June I found out I will be having di/di twins (we found out they’re girls in September). Just this past week at my 20 week anatomy scan, we found out (through genetic testing I had previously done) that our girls will be identical (monozygotic). I am almost 21 weeks right now (20+4) and due 2/14/20 (they’ll take them at 2/3/20 if I make it that far; 38 weeks). I am so excited to have found you and to follow your journey alongside my own💜💜👯

Congratulations on twins!! I am a twin and I ended up having twins too. The best thing about having twins is that they have a built in best friend. I have 2 girls (ferternal) and they are inseperable (but not conjoined lol). I was incredibly poor when we had our girls but I survived with big baggy floor length skirts, a maternity support band, and lots of fiber and nausea pops. Going to Walmart in my 3rd trimester was difficult. I ended up using a motor buggy 😂. Best of luck to you. It's a new experience. ♥️♥️ Edit: Also wear very supportive shoes. My feet swelled something aweful and that's where my struggle with plantar fasciitis began. Protect your feet.

Yes! The bond between twins are amazing. My ferternal twin boy's are the best of friends and so protective of each other. One of them began having seizures and his brother was the one in the room the night he had his first seizure and has been very protective of his brother.

Good morning. I want you to know I’m a fraternal twin. I have a brother and I’m his sister. One of the best advices I can give is to keep them together after the birth. They were created together and separating can be traumatic. They will sleep better for you. They will have a close bond, different from siblings, in general. One will be more outgoing than the other. One may speak more for the other. Don’t let teachers hold them back or separate them IF this is too difficult for them. I promise they will adjust and be able to be independent. ♥️

When it comes to choosing “twins” strollers, you have to decide if you want to get a WIDE(!) side-by-side for twins, or a front versus back, more narrow-type (which would fit through store aisles better, especially at department stores when you’re looking for clothing etc!) When I had my daughter, I would ask a mother with twins that I passed by at the mall “how do you decide who sits in the front and who sits in the back” of the front/back kind of strollers. (And the mother would ALWAYS say “whoever pulled whoever’s hair the last time, ~ that’s who sits in the front seat the next time!) Sheer genius!! 👍❤️ 💡 🙄 😲 😁!!

I have been pregnant three times and have 7 children my first pregnancy I had identical Twins my second pregnancy I had Triplets and my husband and I wanted 1 more baby for a total of 6 children and were blessed to find out our third pregnancy we were having fraternal twins so I can confidently say I have lots of experience with multiples so you can ask me anything and I could probably answer your questions.

I am so excited for you guys! I had twins my second pregnancy, monochorianic diamniotic boys. I didn't find out until my 20 week ultrasound because I was working with a midwife. I made it to 33 weeks, and we had 3 weeks in the NICU with minor issues. My advice is to do everything you can to keep them on a similar schedule and work together to make sure you get enough sleep and breaks. I did most of the parenting the first year on my own and it is all a blur. Ultimately you guys are excellent parents and you will figure out what works for you! My twins are 4 now and I have a blended family of 6 kids. Every day is an adventure and they keep me on my toes. I love your channel so much. Thank you for sharing your lives with us.
