If you haven’t noticed by now, Stellar Entertainment, which is the team split from Criterion has been working on a AAA racing arcade game for several years now. They even tweeted recently with key words like "take down" and "rear ended". By their portfolio, their very likely reviving the Burnout series again.

I remember my brother coming home from work one night with this, and he asked me to give it a shot. It was probably a month or two after release, I hadn’t heard of it but boy howdy, it was definitely a game way ahead of its time. Countless hours of my life was spent Online with my friends, grinding to get the Chrome & Carbon Fibre cars and make our mark on the Leaderboards. … and then EA just released all of the very hard to get stuff from Online in a pack, making the Gold & Platinum paint along with the Chrome & CF cars virtually meaningless as you could just buy the work.

@@yerbasanta505Nobody is talking about sales, they don't even mean anything in this context. It's like comparing modern Doom to Call of Duty; Yes the latter sells better, but the other made a comeback after being on ice for decades and still was a better "standing out game" as you called it, despite selling incomparably less. Besides, NFS literally does the same thing Forza Horizon does with its maps; Roads are a mere suggestion and cops are a just nuisance. Burnout Paradises comparably restrictive open world gives way to more mechanics, tactics and novelty to places, that don't conform to the rules the majority of the map uses. That's the reason the Quarry, the Dirt Track, the Big Surf Construction Site and the Airstip feel so much more memorable and special than the Tracks in Heat, Unbound & Motorfest or the various Horizon Festivals (except the first, that one had actually function compared to the glorified all-in-one garages after it). It also helped that the special places in Paradise were also unmarked and had actual stuff to do, like skate-pools and barrel rolls and collectibles that don't force you to stop (looking at you Motorfest, Forza Horizon and any NFS after 2015!)

@@danielllitpek2014 You just made me wanna play Paradise LOL, I hear you , but we're not talking about streaming numbers like nowadays, actual sales back then determined the "boom" factor in my opinion, just like record sales, no crappy records ever went platinum or did crazy numbers or made an impact that changed music from that point on (like both these games did to racing gaming), but I also respect your opinion, I've heard really great things about Paradise, I'm just a NFS / NFS MW - head man!

I like how you mentioned underground 2 on the same vein as this game, because that would probably be my favorite open world racer if it wasn't for Burnout Paradise's existence. This might be just me putting on my rose colored glasses in the highest of priorities, but to me this game has executed a concept even better than what I came to be obsessed over to begin with, of which I barely see not just in the racing genre, but in most videogames generally speaking, that alone was enough reason for me to get the remaster on a discount just so I could experience it all over again, alongside the content I was gatekept out of as someone who only had a computer at the time. (For added context, most games published by EA between 2006 and 2012 would either be totally different versions (such as their sports line up of yearly releases) or have content that would be only reserved for consoles at the time, one jarring example being the big surf island expansion). I want to also mention the multiplayer aspect of things, because this is where criterion introduced freeburn challenges, that are simply a collective of events where you would do certain tasks and/or tricks alongside the collaborative effort of other players, and under the right conditions, those can be fun as well, not to mention cops 'n robbers which was another online exclusive mode, which is effectively more similar to that seen in need for speed undercover, but I believe paradise nails it better simply due to the aforementioned mechanics such as how the driving works and etc. If there's any other racing game franchise that a lot of people who grew up with the genre, is undoubtedly Burnout, and given the increase of people fawning over this series either coming back to it, or experiencing it for the first time, gives me a small bit of hope that EA's executives are starting to notice a trend regarding the discourse surrounding this topic, so with enough time, there might be either a new entry to such a dormant IP, or have something in a similar vein done by either Criterion or Codies, or even created by some third party, regardless, I still have some hopium left for what is genuinely some of the most entertainment people can get from a video game.

Great Video as always! I also just earned my Burnout License as i’m replaying this awesome game! If I could add something to this video, it would be that the Remastered Version that you played is actually very different to the 1.0 original release on X360/PS3, and in my opinion made worse than those originals. Changes between the 1.0 and latest releases include: - UI colors and elements were changed - Billboards became more generic in the Remaster - All Top Speeds of Cars were lowered in the Remaster - Engine sounds were changed, they became more muted and not as exaggerated in the Remaster - Crash physics were also toned down slightly in the Remaster, making cars not flip over as much - AI Drivers were made slower and easier + Stunt Runs were made easier in Remastered - Other minor graphical differences like when crashing, the color palette becoming very pale with over exaggerated red colors, smoke coming out of exhausts when nitrous was low etc. These differences IMO make the Remaster lose some of the character and atmosphere that the original release had, it made the game feel more casual and not as exiting as 1.0. That said the Remaster introduced a day and night cycle, the original only had daytime, so some things did get improved. There is a video comparing 1.0 and the latest release and in there you can see some of the differences that i listed and more: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGrOmGOOo5iMq6ssi=Z_wkWKMBoIOg3WQS Like i said though great video on one of my favorite games, keep up the amazing work you are doing, we love your content man❤

I spent literal years playing Burnout games. Burnout 3 Takedown was the first for me. Burnout Revenge I beat more times than I can count. Burnout Dominator on my PSP. and finally uncountable hours on Burnout Paradise on my PS3 both offline and online with many of my friends. It was genuinely my favourite game to play. If a new Burnout game came to fruition, or heck even a remaster of something like Revenge. I would likely spend endless hours playing it. It was a huge part of my childhood, it helped me find my music tastes, and make countless memories. I look very fondly on Burnout and hope one day it will return.

I have played all Burnout games (yes, even Crash, it was boring), but i had the PS2 version Burnout Dominator, i discovered the series through demo that was in NFS Underground 2, since then Burnout became one of my favorite racing series along side NFS and Midnight Club I would love a new Burnout game too, the rumour is that Stellar Entertainment is making a new Burnout Game as tweeted an image with the text "You're about to be rear ended"and the words "take downs" If they remaster another game from the series, i prefer Burnout 3: Takedown

Paradise and Most Wanted 2012 are my 1-2 faves of racing games. There most likely will never be another in the series tho since...allegedly...EA bought Criterion specifically to get their engine and talent AND to kill the Burnout series. The same tactic for buying so many other racing series like the Codemasters games, for example. No competition means NFS stays unchallenged. MW2012 was actually supposed to be the next Burnout game which you see if you eagle eye the license plates in the MW trailer. However some of the Burnout team are working on Wreckcreation via Nordic THQ (Wreckfest, etc) so I hold hope for that.

I played Burnout 3 Takedown and Revenge on my PS2, as well as Dominator and Legends on the PSP. When I finally got a PS3 the first game I bought was this, and boy was I so so happy. The GNR song was so iconic that hearing it when I play the remastered version on the PS4 and now on the PS5 brings back so many memories. For some time, I kinda hated the fact that it is open-world, mainly because it is the first Burnout to do so. But as time went on I really start to like the concept. How seamless it is to go from free roam to an event with basically no loading screens, how free you can be with choosing your roads to arrive to the finish line (even though there's one instance where I missed the exit on a train track shortcut and ended up not winning an event, but that's fully my fault), and how fun it is to obtain new cars by taking them down while you were just cruising around paradise. One of my favorite features of the game is the ability to set the actual time as the game time. It added that sense of immersion to the game for me. It seemed magical back then when the game can mimic the real world time in game. Which also served as a great reminder of how many hours I have been playing during that session. Other than GTA V, I think this is the only other racing game that I can play to calm myself down. I find comfort in the chaos of Paradise. I would often just load up the game and drive around the city with some music in the background, play a few events, and log off. I find it so symbolic that the last Burnout game we got was called Paradise, it certainly is my paradise. Thanks for making this wonderful video!❤

I will say that having a waypoint system would be very helpful, I do believe that a reason they might not have had one is to get the player to learn the map better. I know when I was playing, overtime I would get better at getting around the map and finish races faster just from trying to find a junkyard which would make me learn more routes. It also helps that the map is designed so well that it feels like every street flows together no matter what direction. Great video, I missed this game so much

I was never a big fan of playing racing games online, but I ended up playing Burnout Paradise for more than 3000 hours on the PS3. What a game. It was so much fun that we had, playing those online challenges. I made friends, some of them I still know today, 15 years later. I agree with almost everything you said. It's just an unbelievable game. It will probably never be like that again. But we still hope for a new Burnout, which hopefully isn't messed up, like so many modern racing games.

Burnout Paradise's difficulty was nerfed a lot with patches. The remaster has all the "nerfs" applied to it. Cars were made 2-3 times slower, AI agression was nerfed in races, time limits were increased in BR's, Stunt runs were made to be easy (scores were made easier to reach, and the multiplier timer was increased) Car deformation was nerfed, and crash physics were changed. If you want to experience the proper "intended" version of the game you need to play the 1.0 Ps3 version. Also the color pallete was changed from brown-grey to this green-yellow.

Few additions : the remastered actually reduced the number of takedowns required, it increments slower in the remastered than in the ultimate box version, and the maximum is 20 instead of 40 (that change makes sense cause 40 is a lot and grinding the elite license is so much longer on the ultimate box version just because of that). It also added a button in the easy drive menu to cancel the current event so you don't have to stop and wait. In the original release in 2008, the early game cars were much faster and the trafic was a lot more dense, so the game was actually very hard back then. The takedown requirements in road rages as well as the score goals in stunt runs were also higher than in the ultimate box version. Great video, summed up very well my own opinion about this game after playing it for around 300 hours all versions and platforms combined

There is so much potential for burnout. Each burnout from 3 had signature modes. Burnout 3 had the perfect road rage and takedown system ( still the most satisfying one ) along with the crash events. Burnout revenge had traffic checking , yeah it's crazy fun to rip through same side traffic. Burnout dominator had maniac mode , the most skill based event in a burnout game. Getting gold in these dominator maniac events was really hard. Paradise had open world and brought in stunt runs and marked man along with boost types. The revenge racer is still the most beautiful car ever to grace a video game IMO. Obviously an open world burnout game with 1/2 the events based on previous linear titles would be a banger. Linear events make room for crazy things to happen like the traffic checking system. Linear crash modes should return. Entire open world of paradise makes me miss the tension filled events of previous titles. It should be the best of both worlds. For godsake bring back crashbreakers !!!

@@dr.sivavignesh664 Alex Ward only cares about his game running on 60 fps, looking "realistic" and "seamless" lmao. Paradise 2007 E3 also had Revenge's traffic checking, then they nerf it on the final version People complained about Revenge being too easy because of it's traffic checking mechanic, that's why they nerf it on Paradise. You want to near miss traffics? Use speed/stunt cars. You want to check traffic? Use the Inferno Van and Takedown 4x4
@dr.sivavignesh664
@dr.sivavignesh664 7 ай бұрын
@@yesfiraswa burnout revenge being comparatively easy is somewhat debatable. It was still challenging to get 100% and unlock the revenge racer in burnout revenge. 3 was harder because it had aggressive rubber banding. ( I played all burnout recently ). They toned down the rubber banding in revenge. The traffic was turned to a 11 in revenge while 3 had like a setting of 3 compared to revenges 11. Yes it was for traffic checking but you cannot get all gold with just button mashing. Same side trucks and trailers are numerous and vision is totally obscured in revenge. Both versions have their own flavours. Inferno van checking in paradise is like a crash escape tool rather than a weapon like in revenge. Alex ward is in 3 fields entertainment if I'm right. All the modes of burnout can be made into a full package but EA just wants nfs and its uninspired police chases which hasn't improved from most wanted 2005.

Everything seems to have been made easier. In the OG, I managed to get to 101% completion on my own but I still play that game, as the opponents AI seems to be more challenging and fun for me. And also for some nostalgia. Too bad that all the DLC cars I bought are no longer accessible in the OG version since the servers were shut down.

Stellar Entertainment is said to be making a AAA racing game, so I hope it's Burnout. I think there might be a little more hope than Ridge Racer. Namco is trying to erase Ridge Racer's history, Harada asks SEGA where the VF6 is, but they ignore it, saying they can't make Ridge Racer. For god's sake, Ridge Racer's rival, Cruis'n, Hot Wheels racing game, LEGO racing game, F-Zero, and even Top Gear (Top Racer in Japan), Crazy Taxi are back. If Burnout and OutRun are back but Ridge Racer still isn't, I won't buy a Namco game. But I think OutRun have a high chance of coming out differently than Ridge Racer. There was OutRun 2 at British Racing Greats 2023, and Lizardcube tweeted about OutRun.

The collision physics, sense of speed, the way driving feels, it's all f*cking amazing still to this day. But I REALLY grew to despise the whole open-world racing premise. It's already hard enough to dodge traffic at those speeds, now you need to divide your attention further to not miss the correct intersection and go off in the wrong direction. It was just mentally draining, and most of the races I lost were because of that reason. I would much prefer to have most of the events unrelated to racing take place in the open world, and put actual racing within designated tracks.

I loved burnout paradise...But it was nowhere as fast paced as burnout revenge 360 The coding was different and there is limitations in a open world drawing distance / speed / memory menagment back at that time. Today it would be possible to remake the game engine from scratch and allow it for higher tick rates and faster overall motion thru the open world. Burnout dominator is was in my opinion the most frustrating opus of the franchise..extremly difficult. But could be made more fun with better drawing distances and higher res.
