I LOVE that bit regarding travel speed and reaction speed/combat speed. If you can move around at lightspeed, it's a pretty big *"duh!"* that they would have the reactions to move around obstacles coming at you at light speed as well if you can move that fast without horribly crashing into something or someone. They sorta brought it up in the Mario VS Sonic 2018 episode; Although Mario doesn't have travel speed feats like what Sonic has, he's reacted to incoming path changes and obstacles at Mach 375 while piloting the Star Diver and as a bolt of electricity fast enough to travel next-door countries in seconds.

Wiz's blackout - a fan theory: Wiz, as we all know, is firmly on the side of science when it comes to science vs., well, anything. Magic, nature, deities of various origin, science can stomp them all. I think one night, Wiz and Boomstick went to get drunk, and they went back to that old stand-by debate. On that night, Boomstick made a case for magic that Wiz simply couldn't refute: Stack all the most powerful magic-users in fiction against all the mega-geniuses, and, like calculating all the possible Pokemon battles which lead to Blastoise's victory, Wiz realized that that was a battle science would lose. For the first and last time, Wiz admitted intellectual defeat to Boomstick. Video evidence of the admission, and subsequent drunken sobbing fit, are being held in reserve for the next time Wiz decides to get a little too uppity about how cool science is.

So called "combat speed" is harder to measure than travel speed. Especially in Dragon Ball where EVERY SINGLE character becomes so fast that they can't be seen by the naked eye while fighting. The only thing you would have to go by during the first Frieza fight with Goku is how he blocked a light speed death ray from Frieza before going Super Sayian. Even that is difficult because Superman could have dodged it without any kind of power up at all. Combat Speed is nothing more than an extension of travel speed.

Combat Speed is Reaction speed as well as travel speed. Sure you could go fast, but if you react slow, it's useless in a fight.

@@danielperez143 Are you sure? Does it depend on stuff not yet revealed in the anime? If it does, don't tell me because "spoilers" but if *not...* I ask because they stressed so much that Mirio had to really, really had to work to make his quirk useful. Kitty had trouble controller her powers at first, but after comparable amounts of time training, Mirio is the better hand-to-hand fighter but Kitty has less constraining powers. The main thing is, she can fly/swim/whatever through matter while phased, as opposed to lining up with a target then turning "off" her power to forcibly be ejected from said matter (what Mirio does). Mirio loses all sensory input while phased, but Kitty does not. Mirio also cannot breathe while phased, but I believe Kitty can. Mirio's main advantage is that he can *partially* phase, and there appears to be no visual cue to his power working. Also, that assumes Kitty *before* Wolverine took her under his wing... which may actually fall within a similar time frame (adjusting for comic book time dilation) to Mirio being a third-year student at UA. If we consider those equal time periods (or just go with fully-trained adult Kitty Pryde), she has the edge in everything but raw, physical strength. MIrio is the type that might be able to bide his time to get one good hit to decide things, but if not, Kitty just chips away at him as they basically play violent hide-and-seek with phased and unphased attacks trying to properly align.

After getting screwed out of his sugary treat, our Poultry Scientist decided to get himself some tequila, but our hosts were so busy arguing that the relatively lightweight Wiz got blackout drunk. The trip in question? They were in a character's world to research them to be duplicated and dropped into a Death Battle pocket universe. Which character? You decide!

Hi death battle. I have a question. if a character would naturally go all-out in the first second if they actually intended to kill someone (and actually win because the other party wasn't prepared), and the other party, while stronger, faster, more versatile and more likely to win given they had time to feel out the opponent, would a death battle take this into account? I don't think a battle like this would ever occur, but just wondering So to sum up -> party 1: has instant kill, personality-wise very likely to just use instant kill first in the battle and worry about other ways later -> party 2: would be able to avoid instant kill if given enough time to analyze the other parties combat. would win in a lengthier battle. so the dilemma: would would prioritize? the fact that the personality would do the instant kill move, or the battle favoring the other party I don't think this would ever be a problem. it just came to mind since the rules state that both parties enter the fight with killing in mind. for some personalities, that might still actually give them an advantage.

so this is just an educated guess, but I think the one with an instakill would win imagine a highly experienced martial artist vs some guy with a gun the martial artist would almost certainly be faster, stronger and have several methods to disarm his opponent should he get close enough, but in most situations the gunman wouldn't let him close enough he can win in certain situations, like if he knows beforehand what's about to happen or his opponent hesitates, but the first one is against Death Battle's rules and the other you yourself said was unlikely to happen

Bric House, I think that that would be a pretty one sided fight. Fist of the North Star is made to be full of character who have actual mystical powers. Ken was able to bust a skyscraper, and have it land on top of him without being phased. Yujiro can survive a fall from a skyscraper, sure, but that’s got nothing on surfing it falling on him. Plus breaking gather skyscraper in the first place is a really impressive feat. I don’t think Orge’s got a anything close to that. FNS is just a much stronger universe. Would be cool though

Banjo & kazzoie have much more arsenal than just that. They can fly and shoot and bash while doing so, they have a speed boost shoes climbing boots that make them stick to walls, also they can slit up and have different skills. You can even turn Kazzoie into a dragon that breaths fire. THat's without mentioning the car game where you can build tanks and jets if you want

Chad was great on ExtraLife. Unlike Boomstick, who relishes living dangerously, Chad warned them not to pull the slingshots back past a certain point cause they could injure someone. Way to be a responsible adult. Obviously, Jack and the others immediately suggested disregarding the safety line.

If you're comparing one's travel speed to the other's travel speed, it's fine. Same for combat to combat(for obvious reasons). Their speed should have similar differences relative to their max. The only time conflict arises is when you try to pit one character's combat speed against another's travel speed, as it would scale pretty differently.

Not really in this case; Ultron's travel speed is obviously comparable to his combat speed, since his processing abilities clearly equal the speed he's moving at. Given Ultron could clearly react to incoming objects while flying across the galaxy, those same reactions clearly apply to when he's fighting. GG ez.

At 18:40 I agree that the rule should be "no moral beliefs". If it was just "only kill", then a character that has a move that might kill themselves or one that goes against there moral code, they might not use it. Take Gilgamesh from Fate, he has Ea that can destroy dimensions but his moral code is that he can't use it on anyone he doesn't respect. In certain timelines, he has died because he decides not to try attempt using it until it was too late. Or certain heroes, like Goku, who arm disarmed opponents themselves or heal them because they don't believe in killing people who can't defend themselves. They still want to kill them but they help them out first, like when Goku gave Freeza his energy. Imagine in a non Goku biassed fight like dragon ball where he isn't the main character, showing mercy might get him killed.

I think one question that wasn't asked about the time period those AI come from. Sigma comes from the far future, where sentient AI is actually so commonplace reploids have "human rights" (so to speak). I'd think it'd be more advanced than the Phalanx' AI and above Ultron's ability to hack.

Nope. The Phalanx are shown hacking and possessing technology WAY above what human society today are capable of. Heck, Marvel's present-day geniuses like Stark, Richards and Banner (all of whom Ultron is explicitly comparable to) demonstrate feats of technological genius above anything Sigma dealt with. Sorry, but equating time with technological progression is a clear logical fallacy, and in fact Death Battle addressed it later on (specifically in the Mega Man Battle Royale, where it was rightfully pointed out that Star Force having two centuries ahead of EXE didn't do jack squat to disprove EXE having _VASTLY_ higher feats of strength, speed and versatility, so clearly time doesn't amount to much in technology progression). So no, Sigma coming from the future means nothing when Ultron has conquered alien worlds who had technology equal to or greater than even Sigma's futuristic crap.
