14:51 Yes Boba Fett is the unaltered clone that they spoke about. Unlike the other troops, he is the exact age (10) that he's supposed to be when they began the program. He grew up as an actual human. And he's also the bounty hunter from the Original Trilogy that was after Han.

adding a little bit to why they said he was 'too old' initially. Not because they need every available second to teach him but he'd already form relationships as a human being. Once that is experienced, damned hard thing to break. Had he never met his mother this probably would have not affected him. He'd also already experienced his own arrogance in the pod races and experienced suffering. All in all difficult place to start for a Jedi. Too bad Qui-Gon wasn't still around to support him. Could have gone differently ;)

Owen is Anakin's step-brother, not half-brother. Shmi Skywalker is not Owen's mother, rather she is his step-mother. There is no shared DNA between the Skywalkers and the Lars families. Cliegg Lars apparently had a previous relationship which produced Owen. Based upon Owen's apparent age relative to Anakin's, I would say Owen is a bit older.

BUT in the original story that for some reason George Lucas decided to change when he did the prequels: Owen was Obi Wan's Brother. Did you know this?
@tofersiefken
@tofersiefken Жыл бұрын
@@elsacristina9 It is possible that they are trying to re-introduce Obi Wan's sibling. See the Obi Wan Kenobi part 3 video for reference. It has also been indicated that Rey (Solana) Skywalker has a connection to the Kenobi family on her mother's side, perhaps Obi Wan's niece. If Obi Wan's brother had a daughter, that woman may have grown up to be Rey's mother and married Palpatine's "son" to produce Rey.

3:49 Anakin is 19, Padmé is 24. 13:30 Yeah, if you watch carefully, Padmé's been sending mixed signals from the moment of their reunion ("My goodness you've grown!"You'll always be the little boy from Tatooine."), even in this scene, why would she put on such an elaborate dress, in an informal setting, with just the two of them, when visiting a romantic location, that she herself picked for their retreat? Especially considering later in the movie, she has no problem picking less outstanding outfitts, and hiding in less extravagant places? 14:05 That's precisely it. She never had a private life. Her first and only crush, she can think about when asked, was when she was 12. She's surrounded by politicians with an agenda, advisors and bodyguards 24/7, who only ever treat her as their boss. She had to live her life never showing her true emotions. Anakin's stumbling straight forwardness is something she's never experienced, so even if he comes in too hard, she can't help but admire his honesty. 16:12 No, the stormtroopers from the OT are drafted/enlisted soldiers, sourced from the population of the Galaxy. The Jango Fett clones are in their late-50s by the time of those movies, since because of their accelarated growth they aged 40 years in the span of 20. 34:50 Yoda can only do that, by drawing heavily on the Force, which is exhausting in it's own right. It's not something to be wasted on trivial matters like walking. 36:32 Yeah, pretty much. Sidious and Dooku created a puppet state to rebell against the Republic, and they secretly created the clone army so that the Republic could fight back effectively. It's an entirely engineered conflict, using the pre-existing griveances caused by the corruption of the Republic Senate.

17:20 He wanted a Clone to raise as his son. Background: Jango had a very tought life... he never found a partner that could keep up with him, but he wanted to be a father. He got Boba and wanted to raise him like he would have liked to be raised, to be able to give him everything he never had. As a Mandalorian (Which Jango is) it is not uncommon to take any child as their own. So a Clone as your child might be uncomman, but neither the less, he would be accepted as his child.
@cathyvickers9063
@cathyvickers9063 Жыл бұрын
The Kaminoans are cloners. They were hired by the now deceased Jedi to create an army to serve the Republic. Boba Fett is a clone of his dad, Jango. Unlike the clone army, he wasn't engineered to age exceptionally fast, so that Jango can enjoy a halfways normal fatherhood raising his "son." Anakin's meltdown against the Sand People is precisely why he was deemed "too old" to begin Jedi training: he had a strong emotional attachment to his mother! His anger was entirely unacceptable to the Jedi. Anger is a direct route to the Dark Side.

16:10 so despite this, later stormtroopers are established as recruits; at the time of the original trilogy, only a few stormtroopers are clones, with the only known legion to still contain a significant number of clones being the 501st Legion, aka "Vader's Fist".

Some scenes of Anakin and Padme connecting had to be cut for time. It's unfortunate cause one of the biggest complaints people have about this movie is that their relationship doesn't feel natural, and those scenes would've maybe helped some. Like, there are a few scenes of them visiting Padme's home & family. You can find the deleted scenes with a quick search, if you wanna^.^ The Clone Wars show also helped flesh out their relationship~~~

When you speculated that Padme is attracted to Anakin because she can do with him stuffes she didn't as senator, you're absolutely right! She fell for him because he was always honest with her about his thoughts and always himself with her - and that was very refreshing to Padme, as she was constantly surrounded by politicians that were often two-faced and calculated. And regardless of future of their relationship, in THIS movie it IS healthy, because they are honest with each other and try navigate their journey together. Living in secret - thing that Anakin suggested (I won't spoiler wheter or not they decide to keep it secret) - might not be best way to function in day-to-day life, but I don't think that necesserily made the couple unhealthy (such situation might be unhealthy, but pair can still make it work and be good to each other).

Your explanation about Padme is the first argument I've ever seen as to why she would be attracted to him in the first place. I got it in the Clone Wars because he seemed more mature, more heroic, more manly, but in this one it always seemed like she viewed him as a kid until they kissed, at which point I had no idea where it was coming from (I get a feeling that one or two scenes may have been switched around in this regard). So thank you for giving me a good explanation for the first time in the 20 years I've seen this movie

12:05 so this plan formation is from ancient times, hatched by Darth Bane, who had a vision regarding bring an end to the Jedi and democracy from within, his plan was to enter under disguise!! however before he could see it brought into fruition he was killed, in dual in a final duel against his apprentice Darth Zannah. it was his successor many years later Darth Plaguis who wished to execute its brilliance, but he too was killed, and it’s his apprentice Darth Sidious which has began to opperate it, Sifo-Dyas, manipulated by the Sith Lords, .. and before notifying the Jedi was murdered, had a hand in the destruction of the Jedi Order in his effort to save it, by falsely authorising the creation of the Clone Army, .. which it’s true purpose would eventually emerge

in Star wars episodes 2 and 3, it was the era of The Clone Wars. Clones fought for the republic. After the Clone Wars ended, the Galactic Empire takes over, and had no use for Clones. The Galactic Empire had Stormtroopers (Episodes 4-6), who were mainly Humans, who either Volunteered or were drafted to serve under the empire. Between Clone Troopers and Storm Troopers. Clone Troopers are better soldiers, because they grow up in brotherhood, and are created only to fight, and are trained to fight from a very young age. The saddest secret about the clones is that they have inhibitor chips in their heads, which force them under control by specific people. Storm Troopers on the other hand are just people that are loyal or forced under the Empire. The empire didn't keep the clones because the empire wanted the trust of the people, and what better way than to make them into soldiers (or give out jobs in other terms...) with benefits. Some people were convinced that serving the empire was Honorable, and would lead to a luxurious life.

Force Augmentation. Yoda and Dooku are essentially using the force to enhance their physical abilities. Without it, Yoda would just be an old man with a walking stick. It would not last forever though. If Anakin was able to drag the fight out longer, Dooku would just get tired, as you see him taking a deep breath after cutting off his arm. And if you remember, Sifo-Dyas ordered the making of a clone army. It never states whether he did, or someone else did under the alias of Sifo-Dyas, but nevertheless, he was killed around the time of The Phantom Menace, and that the clone army was not authorized by the Jedi Council, implying that this is all a ruse.

Before you get into the Disney movies/series, it's important to note, that they're for all intents and purposes licensed fanfictions, because George Lucas didn't work on any of them. Just like how a cover of an album done by a different band, wouldn't be considered part of the discography of the original performers, even if the cover was produced by the rights holder to the album. Episodes 1-6 and the 2008-2020 "The Clone Wars" series are what constitutes George Lucas's vision of Star Wars, the rest, good or bad are just covers based upon that vision. Doesn't mean you can't enjoy them, it's just something to keep in mind, that they are the visions of different artists.

Anakin: "and then I went on a murderous rampage, killing many innocent!" Padme: "ooh poor baby!" Ofc the reality is more nuanced than this, but not THAT much more nuanced. *who could have possibly predicted Anakin could turn to the dark side after this?* In real life, if a person tortures and kills my mother, and I get a gun and kill them, and then a whole bunch of uninvolved people, including children...I would be sent straight to jail, and quite rightly so.

14:34 Interesting fact: In the Novel campanion to the book, it is explained how Padme feels so attracted to Anakin and how it confuses her and she sees him in a totaly different way and does not realy understand why she feels so pulled towards him.

This movie was a bit of a mess. I think Lucas would have been better served to make this a four-part movie series, but I had a feeling he was also beginning his work on The Clone Wars TV series, and so he needed to have the Clone Wars totally start for the series (and my thinking on the timing is probably completely wrong). So, things happened a bit too quickly for convenience sake.

Oh Clone Troopers are completely different from Stormtroopers. Clone Troopers are for one advance clones of Jango Fett while Stormtroopers are just normal humans. Clones are soldiers of the true republic not the Empire the Empire slowly replaced them overtime and destroyed there birth cloning facilities.

You should watch the animated Clone Wars movie and series. It starts off weak but it gets so good in later seasons. It develops the clones as individual characters as well as Anakin.

Dooku was being honest with Obi-Wan. There's alot to Dooku you don't know, but he's not really an "Evil" guy. He's a guy who lost a lot, and lost his way a bit but was always trying to free the galaxy.

Another fun reaction, thank you! You were right to be confused as Dooku used the truth to create mistrust with the Jedi. DARTH SIDIOUS just wanted to create a war for reasons that will be confirmed in the next movie. There is a huge jump in time between episodes 1 and 2 , but there is a smaller jump between 2 and 3, and in between epsiode 2 and 3 is when the animated TV series CLONE WARS occurs. You DO NOT need to watch that series before you see episode 3, but I would recommend watching it before you decide to watch some of the other TV series like THE MADOLORIAN, and BOOK OF BOBA FETT, as some of the characters from that animated series will show up in the live tv series I just mentioned. Hope you decide to watch them later as they really help you immerse yourself more into the STAR WARS universe. Can't wait for your next reaction! Keep smiling 👍😂

@30:38 I thought this scene was epic. I was 11 years old hearing the music along with all the Jedi running towards the battle droids with their lightsabers drawn was insane to me. I come back to this thought almost every time I think of this movie: In the original trilogy, the plot made sense to kids and adults could enjoy the humor. In the prequel trilogy, it's basically reversed: the plot makes sense to adults (and barely, sometimes!) and the humor is really geared towards kids.

Please consider watching and reacting to The Clone Wars animated series and some of the other animated Star Wars series. They fill in everything that happens between the movies and covers so many small details. Yes, clone troopers are eventually replaced with ordinary people becoming troopers for the Empire. If you watch The Bad Batch series you can watch that entire process happen.

I always figured that Anaken was about 8 and Padme about 16-18 in "Phantom Menace", which would make them about 18 and 26-28 respectively. Padme was definitely older than 14 in "Phantom Menace", based both on her physical appearance and her mentality/thoughts, etc.

It's because they picked a kid actor that looked way too young compared to Natalie Portman , despite both character being closer in age . He was cute in the role , but it ends up jarring when that cuteness does not lend to any kind of romantic vibe or potential at all .

If you haven't notice, Count Dooku is played by Sir Christopher Lee, who also played Saruman in The Lord of the RIngs and The Hobbit trilogies. They're quite similiar the both characters, both being good guys who have great powers but became evil, making armies for their ally (Sauron and Sidious), declares wars on the good factions and gets killed in the concluding chapter of each trilogy. On a side note, Christopher Lee was friend of Peter Cushing, who played Moff Tarkin in Episode IV: A New Hope. They played each other in Hammer's Dracula as Count Dracula and Van Helsing respectively.

Boba IS the clone of Jango. When Tyranus/Dooku made the deal with the bounty hunter about becoming the Clone donator, he demanded one thing (aside from the pay) is an unaltered clone of himself, as Lama Su tells Obi-Wan. He raises him as his son.
@mevb

In the original trilogy most Stormtroopers are volunteered soilders that are recruited from different part of the Galaxy. It's only Darth Vader's own force the 501 (we see them in Episode III) that consist of clones. The cloning program ended once THe Clone Wars ended as the clones were very expensive to upkeep as they required feeding, raising and educating for ten years before they can become soilders, plus because of the growth acceleration, they age quicker which makes them getting old quicker and can't be stay in service as long as regular people (as you can't reverse the acceleration, to slow aging).
