I watched a vidio ....where a guy drilled the breach out abit...and then polished it with a wet 2,000 grit.....he done a fine free throttling job on the breach

I’m shooting 49.5 gr slugs at 110 yards and I’m getting a 1 to 1.5 in group I found if you adjust the trigger to a very short travel with a very light break I get much better accuracy hajimoto sells a two stage trigger I’m planning to get should make it much better This thing hits like thors hammer. I use a drum mower skid plate as a back stop, it’s 1/8 in thick and convex in shape and even at 110 yards the slugs obliterate themselves. At 50 yards it leaves a dent in the steel. I love this gun

@@musclemechanix953 no I have not. I need a better chronograph before I do that. I only adjusted the trigger break point, and got rid of the long take up. I have also switched to the 65.5grain NSA slugs this improve accuracy at long range it is down to 1 inch at 200 yards but the hold over is insane at over 18 moa which is the most my scope has marked they still hit hard enough to obliterate the pellet on a steel target

The 3 shot groups is great. I shoot 3 shot groups best of all. 5shot groups put stress on the last 2 shots

The 70 grain you had 3 go through the same hole. I think it required a few shoots to lead the barrel. May want to shoot more than five slugs.

Great vid Rick! I was just looking that gun up and it says it's a .298 barrel. Thats why I'm thinking it's so snug pushing those slugs in. Although I like the fpe output I don't like how you have to waste a couple of shots before you shoot for groups. That gun just doesn't seem to be consistent to me.

@@lastpro4438 either way you shouldn't have to do any of that shhh you did. Like I said that gun is inconsistent... Barrel, regulator, weight balance, air leaks. It goes on and on. They fix all that then they may have something.

Im betting the jamming of the slugs into the rifling is causing leading. Its more then likely going to change the POI. This should absolutely be addressed by umarex. Im definitely wanting one but im going to wait and see if they address this in an updated version

why would that cause leading? bullets are supposed to be groove sized +/- .001". Umarex isn't going to "fix" anything with that; why would they modify the barrels on everything, when it's only an issue for people who predominantly shoot certain bullets (believe it or not, most people are still using Diabolo's with these)? The solution is to take the barrel off the action and use a hand reamer to deepen the throat to accommodate the nose of the bullet you're using. 7/A adjustable hand reamer (.281"-.312") is $26

I see a lot of reviews on this same umarex 30 with insane tight groups. Your groups are horizontally stretch. The other guys groups were very tightly done with any pellets used. I think your just having a bad day. 😊 . I shot tighter groups with my Benjamin trail today.

I bought some Nielsen specialty ammo for my .25 gauntlet and tried to single load one and it got stuck when I tried to close the bolt. My new .25 mags (old ones broke) it fit perfectly. They’re soft lead so should I be worried about sending one through? I think they’re 38.5 grain. Thanks for any input. Great review btw

From what I understand, the .30 and the .35 are both really traditional hollow base pellet only rifles when it comes to the Hatsan BT65 Carnivore. Round ball and slugs don’t chamber well and shoot wildly in the rifle from what I’ve seen.

Have you 'shot in ' the barrel? It takes 2 to 3 hundred rounds before a barrel starts to shoot well. Also a good scope can make a huge difference. Hawke vantage scopes are excellent pcp scopes for the money.

For those that are number freaks, I did a pseudo shot string with the 60 gr's. We're looking at an avg of 910 fps, with a fpe= 110. low shot 870., high of 926. however, the majority of the shots are between 926-914; which puts your fps and fpe at 920.54 and 113 respectively. Which is more then plenty for your nutria to Red Fox/Raccoon sized small game; even up to Javelina sized game if you limit yourself to headshots. Here in Texas where I Live, all game animals and fur bearers require you to have a min of a 30 cal that pushes 215 fpe. Which I wish they'd re-look at, and break it down by avg weight and min fpe. ie: furbearers like raccoon that'll be 15-25 lbs, would require a min of 60fpe at the muzzle. Coyotes are around 30lbs, so a 90fpe airgun would be more then plenty.

i was seriously considering purchasing this same gun to throw slugs but wow what a huge disappointment thanks for the honest review plus the fact we cant fill with a standard CF air bottle to 250bar, that doesnt work for most gunners

Slugs don't impress me, I tried some. They did not group as well as pellets. My G2 in .30 with Hades 44 grain pellets, (the rifles preferred pellet) after breaking in the barrel, and adjusting the hammer is shooting 7 shot groups at 50 yards that I can cover with a dime, and not see a hole at all. The FX 44 grain run a close 2nd. It's running 1005 to 1010 fps. at about 105 ft/lbs. I'm shooting 3 magazines, 7 shots each before I reload and refill the tank, there isn't enough air left for another magazine at that point. It doesn't get much better than that.

Almost every review video I have seen on this gun shows problems feeding slugs into the breach. When is Umarex going to address this problem, you should Not have to force a 44.5g slug into the breach. I have held off on buying this gun because of that reason....among a couple other reasons.

Lets be honest this gun cannot shoot slugs out of the box the chepest kral arms is doing tight group on 100 yards with any slug. This is probabbly a chocked barrel for pellets only.

I bought this gun and it LEAKS straight from the factory. Dont be fooled people it will not hold air. It was not tested from the FACTORY.. I own 3 Gaunlet rifles and will never buy another Umarex again. I have not been able to find a o ring kit to fix this problem .The bolt action is not smooth as it should be .I put the gun in my closet and has never been used again. I would return the gun but it is a pain in the butt to return any rifle. Umarex needs to fix this problem.
