Just received my G2 30 cal last week. I had no issue removing the tank. like any other PCP gun I own, once the unit was completely de-gassed the tank was loose. I too love how this sounds like a firearm. This video sound quality does no justice for how loud this gun fires! I have a Donnyfl Sumo and it substantially reduces the muzzle blast if anyone is concerned about noise. My Gauntlet shot the JSB exact 44.75 highly accurate at 50 yards, less than 1/2" group. I also tried out NSA slugs. I bought the 4 lowest grain weight slugs available and the 43.8 shot best (.75 group at 50yds) and the grouping declined as I went up in weight to the 54.5s, also as I went up in weight the slugs were increasingly more difficult to chamber the round which may have affected/deformed the slug. I have yet to do 100 yard tests, soon though sometime this week

What numbers were you getting, energy and velocity? I'm wanting to break that 100ftlb mark, and 44.75gr just barely missed the mark.

Rick, A quick fix for gun vise and table slippage is small pieces of sand paper folded back creating to rough, connected surfaces and is cheap and easy.

I added a barrel band on mine from hajimoto and now I can shoot 1/2 groups at 100 yards I also have the DonnyFL sumo on it with a 5-25X50 FFP scope. I also adjusted the trigger way too much creep on it stock. I sighted it in in 4 shots at 100 yds with 49.9 grain slugs from Neilson specialty ammo.

I believe dba numbers are important to know for people who live in a denser populations. I haven’t really seen a video on just this topic alone. They are usually about the dba of different moderators, not sound distances from said moderators. Thanks for the cool video .

Thank you for another learning video I like the 30 but I need a hog contract first before I can justify it. On other note what type of shade screen is that is it one see through or just a shade cloth thanks again for the video

I have a modified G1 in .25 and avg mid to upper 900 fps with a 25+gr.... can hardly wait to get my .30 it's coming soon...Great video I like the No bull shit approach like so many others. Keep up the Good Work.

Simple solution to the shooting Vice moving like it is . If the table belongs to you then bolt two pieces of 1x4” boards to the table . Each board should have a 1” hole in them . Set the gun Vice front feet into the holes to help hold the Vice steady . You can use c-clamps if you don’t wish to drill holes in the shooting bench top . I actually use a gun cleaning Vice with storage tray under the gun rest . This cleaning Vice has four anti slip rubber pads to keep it from sliding around. I adjust the front gun rest to a certain position and place a towel in the rear gun rest to cradle the stock which stabilizes the gun from any of my body movements. It’s nice to see every slug or pellet to go through the same hole every time .

Hey Rick! Another excellent video!!! Do you think that the Hunter Kit Gauntlet 2 in .22 is sufficient for taking Coyote, Deer, Feral Hog, Gators, or Wolves with .22 heavy slugs? Or do you think that .30 is not only better, but the minimum fpe and accuracy to make a humane harvest? I think that the .22 should be sufficient and probably more accurate in a 40 grain cast soft lead slug since it should have a better bc than a skirted pellet or even a comparable 30 caliber pellet. Maybe not as good as a .30 heavy cast lead slug. But inside of 100 yards, and only taking head/inside the ear hole shots should be sufficient. The reason why I am asking is because I already have 4 Gamo Swarm Magnum Gen 3i .22 airguns and would like to stick with the .22 to keep my ammo/caliber selection simple and to save money on equipment and ammo. I already plan on getting rid of my .177 pellet guns and was thinking that if I plan on getting a high powered PCP airgun, I would probably just move up to .50 and hunt with both pellets/slugs, and arrows/bolts. Check with your fish and game regulations to see what caliber/for requirements your state has. Some states have just caliber minimum requirements, other states have caliber AND fpe minimum requirements. For example, Alabama has a minimum requirement of .30 caliber for coyote, feral pigs and deer. Just play it safe and check with your home state's regulations.

Hey Rick ...Thanks for the vid.I have The Umarex Hammer,Gauntlet .25 and the Gauntlet .30 as well as The Umarex Ready air to fill these and other PCP's that I own...but the Umarex Ready Air won't fill my Umrex.30 cal"properly attached ..heck it won't even move the needle on the tank when I try to fill it...What am I doing wrong...if you or anyone in the comments can give advice it would be greatly appreciated

I use the sniper brand scope 4-16x52 . I love this type scope . The eyepiece reticle is adjustable to suit the vision in your dominant eye . The cross hairs can be illuminated under low light situations. The Sniper scope comes with a eight inch tube with a shade anti reflective lense cover . That eliminates the suns Reflective flash down range while hunting.

Buy the umarex gauntlet gen 1 .25 cal. I’ve had one for a year and it’s been great. Accurate with slugs and pellets and has enough power to take down anything from squirrels to coyotes. I’ve taken down plenty of squirrels rabbits and coons with it. It’s like $260 on Amazon. Also it’s fairy easy to fill with a hand pump if you don’t want to spend the money for a compressor yet. Hand pumps are all over Amazon some are less than 50 bucks.

So a 4500 air venturi carbon fiber air tank won't fill the gun all the way up to 4500? But the air tank it 4500 why is a compressor needed to fill it all the way?

Hey there. No. Once you open the valve on the tank to fill the gun the pressure deceases in the tank until the two bottles equalize pressure. So if you start at 4500 in your CF tank, regardless of the size difference, you will not get a full fill. You will get close, depending on the volume of your large bottle, but you won’t get 4500.
