It’s a Replica of the Winchester 1894 chambered in .357 for anyone wondering, and wanting accessories or shell holders! And i think if you used a 5 grain alloy pellet, youd get both the best accuracy and power. C02 loves lightweight pellets. And that was an awesome story about your grandad, youll cherish that rifle forever!

Thank you for another good video! I use your videos and Andy's Airgun Reviews as trusted testers, to make purchase decisions. And I got this rifle, in chrome finish, a month ago. Spring temperatures are still very low, so I've only shot like 400npellets. But I'm very pleased with it. It's insane fun and feel! And the precision is more like normal airrifles - nothing like other BB-guns. I think some chance circumstance gave you a greater spread in the test with pellets than with BB's. (And anyway, I don't understand why one would want to put steel balls through your fairly expensive gun's bore?!)
@AirgunDetectives3 жыл бұрын
Actually these are designed for BB's because it has a smooth bore barrel. Pellets really need a rifled barrel to perform at their best. They should release this with a rifled barrel but then Umarex would be competing against itself since they put out the Walther Lever Action Pellet rifle. Happy Shooting!👍
@andersgrassman65833 жыл бұрын
@@AirgunDetectives I chose in between the Walther lever action, and this one, but decided the Walther was too much alike a shooting experience, compared to my Umarex Hämmerli 850 / M2, which also has a rotary magazine and rifled barrel. And with a weaver rail fitted, and a scope with QD, I also get to shoot that one with open sights. (Another gun purchase where your testing was very helpful in deciding!) I'm kind of old school, so I really love the buckhorn-style sight on this gun. But it's the shell ejecting which really makes this gun special! Just put a blanket under you, so you don't loose the shells too quickly! ;-D Otherwise the shooting cost gets comparable to powder powered guns. At least with the costs of ammunition in Sweden. (I sewed two cheap blankets together.)

Have any of you guys tried to put a little petroleum jelly on the inside of the shells at the gasket with a q-tip or something before you chrony them. It might speed it a little (less friction). What was that old motor oil (Slick 50) supposed to teflon coat things. Just wondering.

Great channel. I live in the south of Brazil and I have one of these rifles, or something similar because I only use BBs. Can I use pellets too? Or does this video model allow the use of BBs or pellets? My rifle is the UMAREX Cowboy Rifle. Or are there models that use both types of ammunition? Got a like for the excellent presentation of the video. Objective and easy to understand. I also subscribed to the channel.

Is this safe to shoot pellets with the silver cartridges?
@AirgunDetectives5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely safe for the silver cartridges...Pellets are great for shooting steel targets and they ricochet less than BBs. This does not have a rifled barrel so you don't get that benefit for accuracy. But pellets do quite well. Thanks for watching 👍

Airgun Detectives great! I just ordered this from Umarex USA. I got the bundle that comes with the Colt. I also ordered extra cartridges for pellets and BBs as well as a leather butt stock cover with loops to hold the shells. This is a really fun rifle, but I do recommend getting extra cartridges for faster reload time as it will make it more fun to shoot

I spoke to Umarex USA directly, and they said that they do not recommend firing pellets out of this gun, even with the silver cartridges. They claim the gun is not designed for pellets. What are your thoughts?
@AirgunDetectives5 жыл бұрын
You can shoot pellets out of it with no issues whatsoever. The company line is it is designed for BBs since it has a smooth bore so they tell you to shoot BBs. Pellets are just fine but you need the pellets cartridges. To make that rifle the perfect pellet shooter it would need a rifled barrel. But Umarex sells the Walther Lever Action that shoots just pellets in a similar 30-30 style. There are several pistols out there that have smooth barrels that shoot BBs but they also sell pellet cartridges. The Crosman SNR357 and the Schofield to name a couple. Again you can shoot pellets with the silver cartridges. Thanks for watching and I appreciate your comments. 👍

Around 90 shots. Just wipe the outside down after every use. I like to spray wd40 on a micro cloth then wipe the gun down. Also a drop of oil on the morning parts every 800-1000 shots. It's a very low maintenance gun.

@AirgunDetectives5 жыл бұрын
How many times have you shot it? My rifle and most others are really quiet. These are very backyard friendly. If it does not quiet down after 150-200 shots, exchange it as defective. Try your luck with another👍
@Grayson10485 жыл бұрын
@@AirgunDetectives Thanks for the reply :). I shot it around 40 times. Yes, I notice yours is a lot quieter. Great, thanks your your insight :). Just one question, why would it quiet down at all after those 200 shots? Shouldn't a weapon be persistent in that aspect?
@AirgunDetectives5 жыл бұрын
I was giving the rifle the benefit of a proper break-in period. Maybe your release valve was letting out too much air or sticking a bit, thus creating a greater sound. At 100 plus shots your rifle should be what it is. I would exchange it if it is too loud and hasn't quieted down. It could be defective.
