That’s a really well thought out rifle especially because it keeps the aesthetics of the original, despite it being a pellet rifle.

Just a little bit of history! It was Chuck Connors who did the one handed spinning of his Winchester rifle before John Wayne did it in True grit! Chuck Connors came out with it in 1959 when the Rifleman first aired on Tv. Now the only problem with the Rifleman Tv series was it was set in the 1880s and the gun he used was suppose to be an 1892 or 1894 Winchester, so technology the gun her used in the series hadn't been made yet. At the end of the Tv series run, the producers of the show gave Check Connors the gun to keep. It ended up being left to his son Steve who ended up selling it in 2008 for $40,000! And as Paul Harvey use to say, "And Now You Know The Rest Of The Story"!

Love your reviews Andy, always well explained! Which would you say is the best out of all the different models of the Umarex rifles, and which is the most powerful?

I’d like to see some of these specialty lever guns by Umarex remade with the 8gm co2 and the cartridges put into the loading gate on the side.

Just asking if this is not suitable for pest control but, is over 6ftlb then how can any pistol from the UK be suitable for pest control? Because all the UK pistols are sub 6ftlb. Great review regardless.

No, the trigger tripper was for the rifleman, Duke never used one, Rod Redwing developed the tripper system for Chuck Connors..Duke did chip a tooth early on so the barrel was shortened, he used many different guns with a range of big loops..Calamity Jane the old musical uses Dukes Hondo gun in the stagecoach opening scene..oh and that airgun should be full , not half mag and its a 94 copy, but Wayne used s 92..keep it western and enjoy..

Great video and these rifles are a load of fun. Andy, how did you manage to remove the stage coach picture from the receiver on the Wells Fargo rifle? Looks a lot better without it. Cheers
@AAROnair6 жыл бұрын
rbovenzi ; well spotted, it was removed by using a Stanley knife blade or use a razor blade very flat to the surface, and mm by mm remove the etching, being very very careful not to scratch the gold surface. The process will take about 10 mins if you do it slowly and carefully, but remember to use the blade flat to the surface. Regards Andy.

This gun design was first used by Chuck Connors as Lucas McCain in the 1959 Tv series "The Rifleman" True Grit didn't come out until June of 1969! In actuality Umarex should have named it after the Rifleman!
