I wouldn't include a lack of wireless charging as a negative if you consider what you are paying for this phone. Most high mid-range and some flagships don't even have wireless charging...so it is not justified to include this as a negative. One of the negatives should be that the video does not support EIS when Umidigi's lower end phones do, like Umidigi X. Most people prefer fast charging over slow wireless charging anyway.

had the f2 , sold it. slow security patch updates, heavy as a brick, camera video not smooth, inconsistent side fingerprint functionality, i could go on. sticking with my a50 for now, so much smoother running and it's thin and light.

With Umidigi there always seems to be too many unforseen issues for me. I think I'm going to wait for hopefully their next flagship which should be the Umidigi S4 or S5 Pro. Haven't heard anything on it though.

I have Umidigi F2 with Verizon Wireless sim in California. Not officially supported, but it's workable. I seem to get about 90-95% full functionality without much hiccups. Hiccup is more how the extra microsd slot doesn't appear to be working with a video player I'm using(MX Player Pro). I've tried moving movies to the microsd, but the MX Player Pro can't detect it. I may try a different media player and see if it can read the microsd. Other than that, it's a good budget phone for VWZ

I had a Straight Talk Verizon nano sim that was already activated with my Samsung Galaxy S9+, that sim worked pretty good In the Umidigi F1 even though that wasn't officially supported. One day, I hope Umidigi make their smartphones have official Verizon support.

Good work Kevin. I just bought the F2 for $300CAD. Very impressed overall. The no-AMOLED screen and no-wireless are the only minor liveable drawbacks. BTW, my security update is from March 20th. (today is May 30) Is this good or bad? Subscribed! 🤗

I would disagree with three of the reason you give as worst things. These three things are: a lack of AMOLED, official support for a couple of American carriers (since I don't live in the USA),* and wireless charging. These are things that would probably have involved significant additional cost. Of the five worst features, I would say that the only one of any real significance is the lack of security updates. My major gripe with the phone is the problem I have with the headphone socket. Most times when I plug my home headphones in the indicator comes on but no sound is heard. To remedy the problem I have to plug in my travel headphones then plug in my home ones for it to work properly. I think this may have something to do with the fact that my home headphones do not have a the three section plug with a microphone facility. This is not a problem with Bluetooth headphones, but my home headphones are more comfortable. I did have a MAJOR problem with the F2 in that it kept rebooting about 3 - 5 times a day but that issue now seems to have been resolved. Another minor gripe is with the side mounted fingerprint sensor which seems quite sensitive to finger angle. I think the best place for fingerprint sensors is on the back of the phone where you can have a finger rest quite naturally in position with a large contact area.

Umidigi F2 is one of the best Phones i have ever had in my hands. i really like it . Battery good , storage good, Ram 6 gb, android 10 and super camera. thats all a phone need to have. i buy 2 with 170 Euro .... Super

Do you know how vulnerable to water it is? They say there is no water resistance, but some manufacturers just don't want to pay for the grading. Like, can it be put it in the shower room with steam in it? not submerged in water obviously.

Watching this on my new Umidigi F2 lol. I still have mixed feelings. It's a great phone for sure, But I don't know if I like this or my Blu Vivo Xi+ more.

@@artdogg50 My Blu honestly performs better than the F2, but the camera on the Blu is just terrible. Overall I think the Blu is more polished and refined but the F2 gives you more features for your money.

I think I would consider Umidigi in the future if it's gonna be an official Android One phone so updates won't be sacrificed. The phone is a great looking one and the features are killer! Hope it becomes more main stream. It will give Realme, Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo a run for their money and throne as the budget king brand!

Well done vid! I subscribed, can't wait to see more. 👍 I have a power 3, was impressed with everything but the audio, i could even deal with the camera. But the audio, i use my phone for business and had difficulty with volume for loud speaker, internal and Bluetooth. Wouldn't go loud enough. I'm back on my 4yr old LG V20. Was interested in the f2, how is the audio? Edit, read on more posts and the audio issue seems to be a Brand issue. Hopefully they'll fix that.

Latest May 06,2020 OTA update fixed 3.5mm audio jack - listening to audio sounds so much better! So far everything works on T-Mobile network even on band 66, & 71 LTE. Will test other new\updated features.

not to be ungrateful, but this phone ,and maybe the power 3, should of had on screen fingerprint and helio g90t processor. Also this phone should have EIS in the camera, this is where I have mixed feelings on buying this or the X. I might not buy the X because it does not support android 10(not yet hopefully ). Then this phone would be the best budget phone in my eyes.

Audio is described as 'soft' when calling others on the 'Phone'. All three different types of Bluetooth earbuds used for talking through phone and messenger give distorted audio?? Fingerprint sensor is unreliable, have to use PIN most of the time to wake up and for online banking. No face recognition either, Grrrr Already getting slower and only have a few basic apps Inc Amazon/eBay/Netflix/Sainsbury grocery shopping KZbin etc. If it carries on like this it'll be spending a lot of time sitting SIMless in a drawer to be used for watching Netflix while in bathroom etc. Could have bought a reasonable 10" phablet for same amount.

Have to disagree about this being the best phone umidigi has put out...I had to return mine...too many problems from not being able to take pics...open browser results etc....am thinking the F1 is much better because at least that one has worked with no problems ....

Going to return my Umidigi Power 3 as it has bugs as well. It already had a couple updates and still has issues. Don't think it'll get many more updates. Maybe one more if lucky. Thinking about getting the Samsung Galaxy a51.

As a Motorola Z2 Force user, I won't stand for any praise about patch delivery. Not only did they decide to lead us on for over a year for Android 8.1(later Android 9.0) updates, but they haven't issued a security patch to my device since July 1, 2019. It's still supposed to be getting security patches. Screw Motorola.

It's weird to compare the iPhone to a UMIDIGI on just size...UMIDIGI has an insane about of bugs, crashes, and Force Quits. There's a reason its that price - lets compare honestly. There are better Android phones for $100-$150 more.

The camera is a disaster , especially after previous system updates. I had other phones ..old phones tht take better photos and I'm talking especially about landscape photos figuring - or not - people ..whenever you zoom in the photo everything becomes blurry !! Videos also are horrible ..something is wrong with them and I dunno why they look as if taken in slow motion !!! They stumble

I have a question, I bought an out of date, heavily used phone four months ago. I really don't like it, its slow, its speakers are glogged up, it's beat up and it closes and restarts randomly. I wonder if I should switch to a cheap phone or keep it for longer since I got it only 4 months ago. Have a good day Kevin.

It depends, if you feels it's issues are too much, how much are you willing to spend to get a good smartphone? Their are pretty decent smartphones between $150 to $250, some of them are flagships from a couple of years ago. Something to consider.
