Great in-depth review. I went from a LG G6 to this phone. I love the performance of the F2. No hiccups whatsoever. My LG G6 was very sluggish compared to the F2. The selfie camera was horrible on the G6 so the F2 selfie is more than acceptable for me. I bought the F2 back when it was on pre-order in Oct from Ali Express web site and didn't receive it until 2nd week in Jan. Don't know if I would order a phone delivered from China again because of the shipping hassle.(They did send me a free umidigi watch thou as a bonus for the shipping delay) Besides the shipping gripe I'm very pleased with the F2.

Picked up mine about a week ago, so far it's a good phone. Touch sensitivity is a little slow on response when scrolling but not by much. Gaming (accuracy) would cause minor problems. Last for about 2-2 1/2 days without charge. Fast download speed for watching videos (KZbin, ect) can't really complain.

Roger Olivier no issues. I gave my F2 to my mom and she uses WhatsApp and camera always. Could be a permission issue. Perhaps the first time you tried to use camera under WhatsApp you denied access to camera. Uninstall WhatsApp and reinstall. When you use camera next time allow access to camera and files.

Go to Settings, Sound, scroll down to Advance and scroll to Sound enhancement, click on it and activate BesLoudness Volume booster for speaker. But if you wish to have a better sound quality when you're listening to your music with headphones, there's an application you can get for only $5.00 on Play Store and the app is called Poweramp. You get a10 bands equalizer with many other sound optimizations possible and it will make you enjoy your music so much more.

Well, I just ordered this phone yesterday, BEFORE doing my full due diligence and homework on the device, and after seeing your review, I am somewhat regretting it, especially after seeing what some people have to say about the phone. I guess the spec sheet sold me, you know, the large screen, battery size, Android 10, camera specs, and what I thought was a good processor and chipset. I also think it's a nice looking phone because I hate that waterdrop thing a lot of phones have now. Anyway, now I'm thinking about and hoping I can cancel my order. I would like to as ask you if you had it to do over again, would you still have bought this phone? Is there something else at this price point, around $200, that would be considered, better? After hours searching Amazon and other places, I couldn't find anything which is why I decided on this phone and jumped on it, but as I said, the spec sheet is one thing, and real-world performance is another, and it seems that a few people say the phone doesn't quite live up to the lofty specs. I suppose I should point out that, honestly, I don't really care too much about the camera and video playback(as long as it's not KZbin playback that's choppy and glitches) because they are not something I use very much, I don't take many pictures or make videos, but I do care that web browsing and using different apps are done quickly and without issue. I'm coming from a nearly 5 year old 3G phone, so this should be a significant upgrade, but given that I plan to hold on to it for a few years, I want to make sure it's the best one I can get for my money(my budget is about $200), and while I don't want to rush the process, I do want a new phone fairly soon, in the next couple months at longest. If anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated, thanks.

If you're in the US, then the F2 is your best choice for $200, provided you're okay with an average camera. You can install Gcam and the camera will improve a whole lot. I've been using F1 for a year and bought the F2 to gift my father. Umidigi uses great IPS displays (trust me I've compared irl with several IPS phones from different brands, and my F1 had darker blacks and deeper colors). Software doesn't have bugs afai. And ram management is great. You can keep 10 apps in the background and switch between them without having to reload. You might want to go to settings, sound, advanced, and enable BassBoost which will increase both volume and bass by 20%, give or take. The only downsides are the video and micro camera modes, weight (210 grams), and rarity of updates. They'll fix software reported bugs but do not expect Android 11 upgrade. I'd say enjoy your new 6.5" notchless phone.

@@Saul700 Thanks, but my order was actually canceled by the Chinese merchant/company, and I have to admit I'm a bit relieved, it saved me from having to do it myself. I think I've benefited from this extra time to do more research to find the best phone for me. Now I'm leaning towards the Xiaomi Mi 9T; it's a tad bit smaller, 6.39" as opposed to 6.53, but the screen is OLED,. and it doesn't have a waterdrop notch or camera hole either, but a popup camera(for both, better and worse, I do worry about the moving camera) and the camera is supposedly equal to if not better than the F2 even if it's not truly great. I think the chipset is supposed to be better as well. But most importantly, I can get it without having to do an international purchase transaction.

@@mydogskips2 oh the chip is definitely better. You won't notice a difference in performance unless you play games. The camera is also better but I still advise installing Gcam. I didn't know Mi 9T supports US bands!

@@Saul700 I just bought the F1 in January for 141$ from Amazon on a flash sale. I had to jump on it a that price. Anyway, so far I like it a lot. It does have a great looking display, and everything runs smoothly for me. But I still have not used the camera. I know there were a lot of complaints about the camera on the early reviews. My old phone was slow and had a lousy camera, and I really didn't use the camera anyway. But what do you think about the pics the F1 takes. Also, I couldn't find a rugged case for the F1. So I'm just using the thin case it came with. I did get a pull tab case that works well too. Anyway, value for money so far I think it's a great phone.

Ordered on October 12th. I think I received it on January 12th. Basically they had people kickstart the cost of manufacturing the phone and that's why it's gotten late shipping. Otherwise they deliver within 10-30 days depending on where you live. Bought they F2 as a gift. But I remember my F1 took 12 days to arrive.

I had the F1 ...But I went back to Xiaomi devices. The issue with Umidigi is they are horrible at updating their devices....and when they do update them they actually make them worse! I mean I had the F1 and it got a camera update....but the update was worse than the original camera and also they left the original camera on the phone....so it had two default camera apps both with different features. I heard horror stories of the F2 here not being shipped out for 3 or more months after they paid for it. Many of the orders were cancelled for no reason at all. Not a good look!

Rooted my F1 to fix the ram issue, and add a system-wide dark mode. Installed Gcam and now the camera is great. Yeah Umidigi stock firmware on F1 had its bugs but aside from the camera it's pretty neat. F2 has stable software with no issues, they just need to optimize the camera modes, specially video.

This phone is GARBAGE. complete waste of money 1) i have never had a call where the phone did not mute itself less than 5 times. , 2) the battery after a couple of months won't last a day and I barely use the phone. 3) I have contacted Umidigi via there website and also via Aliepress and not one response. Going back to by old Blackberry z30 and throwing this out. Again awful phone. (BTW,m I charged it this am, barely used it and it's sitting here dead.
