179,968 score is pretty good, my Essential phone has 200,000 score and it has a snapdragon 835. With regards to android updates, Umidigi never does update, if you want monthly security patches and updates, you need a premium phone like essential, who although not selling phones, still updates every month. But other brands like LG are bad for updates too. Over all i really like this phone. I just wish they unlocked 4k support, no reason why the Samsung sensor GM1 can't handle it. With regards to video quality of 1080p, Umidigi needs to update it, quality is quite poor even for 1080p. My old Vivo 5 takes better and sharper 1080p videos and that's from 2014. Umidigi take note and please fix video and unlock compression settings on cameras, so we can choose file size, so we can take advantage of the 48mp camera. Great Video Kevin.

If this is true, and apparently more than a few people have said it, while the specs may not technically be lying, the real-life results, which are far more important than spec sheets, are misleading to say the least. People like me look at the multiple cameras, 48 Megapixels, etc, etc. and think this has to take great pictures and video, but if the reality is very different, it's really a type of false advertising. I don't know if there's a word for it, there probably is, but this is clearly misrepresenting something, inflating numbers to give a false impression, advertise, and sell a product. Shame on Umidigi. And if they really don't update their devices, at least with the most basic security patches, that's another terrible practice.

Man, I loved the Essential phone. Almost thought of buying one just to have it and show off what good design in a phone looks like. Ceramic and titanium! You can get one for like $100 these days. I have been hesitant to pull the trigger only because I think I'd prefer a Razer Phone 2 since it's full of excesses I admire...but the Essential was a vastly under-rated device.

I have F1 and bought the F2 as a gift for someone. Both phones have great performance, superior battery life, and the screen colors are better than most mid range IPS displays (did real life checks). The cons with Umidigi phones are lack of updates (and zero upgrades), and low quality cameras. Gcam on my F1 made things significantly better, but it is still not as good as redmi/realme cameras. For $180 the F2 is worth it, as long as you don't care for artsy cute photos. I use my camera mainly for documentation related stuff so I don't mind the below average camera.

Great video bro! My F2 will arrive sometime next week in the mail, I can't wait!!! On a sidebar note, I attempted to order my F2 from AliExpress last month. I quickly canceled my order when I realized it was going to take three or four months to get my phone through them👎 I decided to reorder my F2 from eBay, at a price point of $205👌 That was less than a $20 difference from what I would have paid on AliExpress and my F2 arrives in less than 5 days👌

My AliExpress order wouldn't go through, I don't know why, so I bought my phone from someone else, it saved me $20. The difference is AliExpress charges tax, at least for me. I just hope Deal Extreme, DX.com is legit and I don't get scammed. It looks legit, but I've been burned buying from China before. Oh, and I hope it doesn't take months for it to get here, the site said it's like 18 - 23 days or something like that, not 3 months. Anyway, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I hope you like yours when you get it.

Had my Umidigi Power 3 for a week now and I don't think I'll buy Umidigi phones anymore 😥 The hardware is awesome, but the glitches and topping that with no updates will have me looking at other brands. Really wanted to like Umidigi. I'm having audio issues as reported by others and the GPS seems to be horrible. It doesn't detect when I'm turning and it made me pass up a place I was looking for because in Google Maps it said I still had about a quarter mile to drive before I get to my destination. The audio directions don't work at all within Google Maps and the audio went out in every app. You have to make a phone call or reboot the device to fix the issue temporarily. Think my next phone will be the Samsung Galaxy a51. Costs more, but at least I know it won't have glitches as I had the a20 and it'll get updates.

Understandable. "no updates" is a false, umidigi always applys OTA bug/software/hardware updates and i appericate them being transparent telling what they fix, when they do release them unlike other companies. Its more so security updates where its inconsistent. Since thats one newest phones, updates will come soon. They release great value products. for sure got some bugs i agree. S3 pro owner. My issues here being bluetooth/wifi not being as good as my previous moto x4 but other than that been great (camera/performance/battery/cellular service) . My umidigi f1 play has been one of the most enjoyable to use of any of the phones I've ever purchased. I walked away from Samsung years ago and I'll never go back. I absolutely HATE Samsung devices. The cost/value ratio for umidigi is fantastic compared to the always overpriced Samsung.

Here's a tip, with open camera, you can enable 4k video, a hack built in, on the F2, it shows 2 settings for 1080p, choose top one in open camera. I took a short video on open camera and file size was 129mb, on umidigi camera app, file size was 69mb, so open does unlock better quality on video camera.

Kevin I like your channel for budget phone reviews and you do a great job, BUT please review more from Motorola (the US budget phone maker) as many foreign phones dont cover enough U.S. network bands to even work reliably or get LTE speeds (F2 is a RARE exception and you didn't point that out?) *Suggestions, 1. Please test signal quality, download speed on 4G LTE. 2. Please show other benchmarks for comparison. 3. Most cells take decent pics during the day, but the F2 pics and video colors appeared washed out and fairly blurry? Test cameras in LOW light or night too, that is where you see the real difference in quality. Maybe follow up installing Gcam if possible to improve it? Last you don't need to repeatedly say the brand name after the first time, gets redundant. Just say the F2..😉 I think doing this will make your channel stand out from the pack as one of the best reviews, Thanks for your reviews! 👍

Kevin I have looked for a red version now and prior to purchasing when I had to go blue as black is a no go for me. where have you seen red? your pictures are reasonable for the phone as said, but with a megapixel lens you'd think it would be much sharper. I think this is where the disappointment folks are polarized from. Where in the south are you located?

@@davebassi7340 Overall it's good. The camera quality is outstanding for this price point. It's speedy, I haven't run into any lag at all really, Only the occasional hiccup that even the flagships experience. I think the software has some quirks to it for sure, perhaps Umidigi will release future updates to make the interface more refined. I hate that there aren't any protective cases available anywhere for this phone, only the thin rubber ones, clear or black, and some wallet style ones. Overall I'm happy with my purchase. My friend bought one as well. He wasn't so lucky. Out of the box his was unusably slow, kept freezing every couple of minutes, and the audio port didn't work. There might be the concern of quality control 🤷. If you get it and something doesn't work, you can always return it.

The pictures and videos look fine to me, but sadly, the audio is a bit lacking. I'd like to know what people mean when they say the picture quality isn't good, I wish I could see what they're talking about. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with flagship phones costing close to a thousand dollars, two hundred dollars is about as much as I'd want to spend on a cellphone.

Great review helps me make up my mind, although not your fault the video stabilization is not as impressive as with other phones, I'm not even sure if it has that feature the F1 didn't ….also it's unclear if this has slow mo and time lapse functions I didn't hear them mentioned so my guess is no it doesn't. No official gorilla Glass, they say it has double 2d glass front and back, plus it comes with a screen protector preapplied.

@@destineal I don't care for them my self, but it comes preapplied. Once it's scuffed up it's coming off. But one thing I know is the glass Umidigi uses smudges a lot less than Corning glass. Corning glass is just a name, there are other types of glass that's just as good, like Dragontrail glass. It's all a hype, like Intel brand used to be. I've have a phone with Corning Glass 5 and has a deep gouge in the glass on it, then my other phones that don't have Corning glass don't have any scratches. Go figure. I use them all the same way.

Got two A5 Pros. I tested one, and it runs fast and battery is great, BUT the camera HARDWARE is bonkers: It's blurred at the right side (no optical stabilization, too). // I planned to sell one of them, but price never improved (it's been "DISCOUNTED" forever at the same price I bought it), and I can't with good conscience sell a defective product (AND when it's market value is lower than MY price)! // Also, apps turn off by themselves (Net monitoring app? disappears. Screen capture app? disappears. Screen filter app for eye health? turns off). Don't tell me to do all sorts of disabling battery optimization... done them all. // Umidigi phones only update 1-3 times. Am I wrong?

Looks like a solid phone for the price. I just got a Redmi Note 8 Pro 128GB Global ROM for $210 (including shipping, etc.) but I gotta say this is a solid contender. Might consider Umidigi the next time I get a phone, if we get through the virus pandemic. 😐

The provided charger is 18W charger for phones with mediatek processors (called pump express). If you used a different charger with different charging technology then you might only charge at 5W not 18.

LOOK!!!! With cricket u drop 4g lte during a phone call and use 3g. I had this issue with my F1. u don't get the lte advantages with cricket wireless. So went to T-Mobile and it was thee best decision for my F1 and I. 4ghd calling and doesn't drop 4g during call....... FYI 😊 📱

I have 2 umidigi f2, both have very slow camera and blurry photos. I don't think this review is close enough. Capturing the video looks good .. it tricks your eyes, but try to play that recorded video you just captured so slow and sluggish as hell. I'm not sure if you really capture that video and photos using umidigi f2 as photo quality really blurry.. no stabilization

Hmmmm. After the A5 pro, which Im still using, I don't want to spend more than 120 bucks on a phone. I know one trick is to try to put out a certain model at the lowest price, in order to gain name recognition. Well I guess it worked.... I have an F1, and bought the F2 as a gift for someone. I set the phone up and installed the apps/accounts.. it's not a major upgrade from the F1. Just root your F1, install a ram management fix and you'll think you have 8GB of ram. Add a decent launcher, gestures, full dark mode, and you'll feel like your phone has been upgraded. Use it for another year and wait for next gen phones.

Finger print with power button IS already a common place feature unlike what you are babbling about. Yes, on LG the finger print reader IS the power button and it is in the back where you DO NOT have to look for it unlike what you are... babbling about again. There's nothing to look for in the back your finger goes directly to it without having to turn the phone over it is in fact WAY more easier to open your phone that way than on-screen reader or side reader.

The fingerprint reader on the power button is a HUGE privacy issue. How fast do you really need to unlock your phone? Might as well be sending them your SS# too or have it always unlocked if you don't care about privacy.

Capturing pictures that are steady.. photos a little bit good. But if it moves a little bit. Photos is sooobad.for the video. 1/10 very poor quality. Slow and full of lags playing recorded video on umidigi f2 . Trust me I have 2 umidigi f2. I know it's a budget phone phone but hopefully umidigi give us update to fix those problem

Got mine on the early bird pre-order. Took a while & yes its not prefect but for $179, dayam if I'm not impressed. I like it & I recommend it to the cheap asses out there....myself included ofcos :)

Der Ear Lautsprecherbug ist leider oft vorhanden! Andere hören mich nicht. Vom Hersteller keinerlei reaktion! Da geht bei mir nur freisprechen oder im Auto mit Bluetooth. Umidigi sitzt das aus!👹
