Two or three snowfalls ago, here in North Central PA, we had snow on the ground that was so light and powdery it was near impossible for me to fly off or land without nosing into the snow. [Same plane and floats as in this video.] Any sort of a plop on landing had the EVO sink into the powder over the floats. A greased landing would have the plane nose over withing a few inches of touch down. On take off attempts just a little bit of throttle would have the plane nose right into the powder snow without moving forward. All my other times flying off the snow has been pretty much as seen in your video except that I normally do many more touch and goes just to see the tracks being made. Fun video. Thanks. Ps. I'm 79 years old, lived in NY, CT and now PA, and don't ever remember a snowfall so light and fluffy as what I described above.

Another outstanding flight! Nice greaser at the end, too! 😎Too warm here for any snow to stick. We should have 3+ ft on the ground by now around here. Instead we have zero. Used to fly my UMX CC off the snow on floats, but haven't tried that yet with my UMX Timbers. Still have the floats though - so I could install 'em on ol' poodle-nose or the UMX TTE.

Man Chris that is fun! I'd love to have some snow to play in...that would make being cold worth it! Nice flying man.

Thanks, haven't had this one out in a while. Next flying day I'll probably throw the floats on the Twimber and see how it likes the snow. I've also got a set for the EC-1500 I should try out. With the pond plowed now it's hard to justify throwing floats on after seeing how easy it was even for the UMX Pitts. The differential thrust of the Twimber and EC-1500 should make turning a breeze though 😁

@@CR5rc I see! xD After watching your video yesterday night while I was building a 400mm indoor Model and a Crack Turbo Beaver (RC Factory) and giving you the first Like :) and watching the video today morning I tried mine in the cold but it is really much slower but the lipo wasnt full and I could do too much aerobatics. But although mine is so crashed and glued it´s still a fun model :))

@@ficosk8 mine has been crashed a few times as well. I loved my 2S version but haven't flown it since I got this one.

Your flying is so smooth, are you using any expo on your TX?
@CR5rc8 ай бұрын
Don't remember what I'm running on the little Timber but probably around 10-15% expo. I use more (30-40%) on 3D planes but this little one doesn't need as much. I'm flying with 100% throws and the pushrods moved inwards on the surface horn for more throw. I learned to fly before there was expo so I naturally fly smooth around center stick and need less expo than many people do.
