Klim carlsbad suit review please.

There is a KZbin of a Klim factory tour. When you see and hear Klim’s philosophy on creating quality gear you understand why it’s a purchase worth the price. All made in the US too. Well done. Love the high viz and sage color-way.

So I just bought the Carlsbad. I like it a lot. Rode today, 87 degrees and it vented well. Nice and light, but good protection. Thanks for the suggestion.

How is sizing? what are you and what size you get? I'm. 6-0 barely...and 190 lbs. most 195lbs... 34 sleeve. L in Tshirts....I'm either M or mabye L but after what Ian showed..maybe M ??

Congrats on the new jacket. Klim makes great stuff. I have the last generation badlands jacket and I find it to be a three season jacket. It's great for cool weather and even cold weather, but it's too hot over 80 degrees. So I supplemented it with the Baja 4 jacket and pants. Love them. +1 for Revzilla. Great customer service and fast shipping.

Yeah I want the Baja too! Wish it had chest armor.

Really informations, cheers. I’ve had Rukka proshell gear for the last five years which is top lit although it does get way too hot in the spring/summer so interesting to see the venting and protection from Klim👍

Good review, I went with the Klim Latitude jacket a year ago to go with the Badlands Pro Pants. The Badlands Jacket was just too heavy and bulky even with the kidney belt. Plus I fit between a M and and L so one was too big and the other too small. Great stuff though and other than the new colors, they can be had for about $300 off these days. BTW, you gotta stay out of the sun or wear a hat outside! :-)

Thanks for your thoughtful reviews. I have watched a couple of your other videos as well. I can confirm that the outside pockets are NOT waterproof (why, KLIM?) The "pass-through" slot on the inside right is not for earbuds as you mention but for the (sold separately) hydration bladder tube. You missed talking about the pouch for the bladder behind the back protector. Nice jacket. I have one in Grey.

I tried using that bladder pouch... didn't work for me.

Good product for sure and I'd buy one if it had more high viz, but it's lacking. Work provides 100% high viz protective riding gear and I've got at least 50% on the front and back of my personal jacket. It's all good when new, but with time in the dust and dirt and with regular washing the high viz gets duller, so the jackets need to get replaced more often for the high viz effect.

How does the new Carlsbad vs Badlands armor differences compare, both are CE level 2 but how much larger coverage is the Badlands? I am considering Carlsbad to save some weight and know the Carlsbad doesn’t have the chest armor spacer and the kidney belt. Venting looks similar enough on the two.
@BigRockMoto4 жыл бұрын
Honestly... now that I've looked at the new Carlsbad, I like it more. Armor is now CE2, the fit is nicer than the badlands which is boxy and bukly, the carlsbad is lighter and looks nice IMHO. The only thing I'd miss is the chest armor.
@jpaul45952 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the badlands jacket, I am thinking of getting the badlands or the latitude. I read a lot of negative comments about the heavy weight of the badlands pro, what are your thoughts on the weight and bulkiness?
@denischartrand39122 жыл бұрын
Looking at ordering the carlsbad jacket but the pants are not in stock, is the weight difference for the pants as big as the jacket? I tried the jacket and didn't like the badlands, just too heavy for my taste. Looking at this 2 years later but great content as always. At equal price or minor difference if one could get a discount, would you go for the carlsbad vs badland?

Klim makes awesome wonderful gear for snowmobile type riding. For motorcycles & street riding... while it lightyears better off the shelf stuff from motorcycle stores, it pales in comparison to the motorcycle tested/ proven gear from Motoport. Motoport gear is the ONLY gear designed and tested over many years and attendant ( and unfortunate ) accidents. Years of proof actually. Then when you take into account you can actually get gear made to fit you...it is a no brainer! Costs about the same as badlands. So, when I got the badlands and the pants did not fit all that well and I discovered the above facts the Klim was sent back and Motoport was ordered. Jus' sayin' FWIW AND YMMV.
@BigRockMoto2 жыл бұрын
you are right about motoport. best gear available.

How's the jacket holding on for you? It's been almost been a year since you've posted ur KZbin video and I'm certain you've been able to put some lengthy miles with this piece on. And ur 2 cents of using this piece in tropical climate (if ridden) will only help!

Hi I purchased a badlands pro jacket leaks from the vents zippers first time in rain Brand new jacket klim put me on to gore-tex for the problem Gore-tex wanted to send off Jacket army cost to ne tested they can't test zippers after a discussion they said if zippers are leaking not gore-tex then its klims problem Went back to klim there answer is it says zippers are water resistant not waterproof in description do not responsible if it leaks Funny how in advertising its say it will take anything and keep you dry well it doesn't and actually it was a good job I found out that it was leaking before I was miles away in the wilderness Hyperthermia is a killer they actually say it in the advertising importance of staying dry Ok I said my bit it's up to you to make up your mind I was sucked in to the advertising and parted with a lot of money a bin liner would have worked better So just because its expensive doesn't mean it works

What? 1000 bucks and it does not have a removable thermo layer? How is this keeping you warm at 30-50 degrees fahrenheit? How about the pants? Thermo layer?

I bought myself a different Klim Jacket, the Badlands pro. I am very disappointed about this product, it is so much of not practical. It states to have a lot of pockets, but acutally you cant use them, they are to small, of are made of mesh material, or are being blocked when u open the upper part with the straps to hold it open. It very uncomfortable, it feels like a middleage armor made of metal. I rode with it about 500km and bought myself a Rukka R.O.R. jacket with a additional protector suit inside it. That is so much more quality and comfort. Sorry but for me : No Klim again. Overrated and not good for real world usage
@TheTuxMaster4 жыл бұрын
Concerning Badland Pro The 5 outer pockets do NOT hold tight, a soaked wallet and a damaged phone. 350k in the rain, a jacket for $ 1000 should hold tight. Will be RUKKA next time! Very dissapointed!
@mangomears14 жыл бұрын
Why put a phone in outside pocket? It’s a risk on any jacket
