bought the hi-vis jacket & pant - sizing was harder than I thought and needed to exchange for a new set. Now fit is good - if a little big. The review is great - thank you. You went so fast when mentioning the hydration pocket, even watching it 3x could not figure out what you said. Took a test ride with the jacket and jeans on a 95+ day here in CA - hot and dry. The venting worked great and while it was still hot - the gear worked great. You really feel the venting working. Yesterday riding with both jacket and pants - 85+ day... the jacket venting worked even better with some adjustments made and the pants did not. They have great front vents, that the jacket covers and greatly reduces effectiveness. The jacket was being worn with lower zipper "cracked". PS - other colour combos look a lot better.

I own the previous version, and have no complaints after ~2 years. Looks like most of the changes save costs. Let me guess, the price is still at least as high as the last version...

I own this set. I am 6" and my size is a 36 short. The knee armor on the pants are way too low and can't be adjusted up enough. The pouch that the knee armor sits in is also too thin and elastic. The zipper pulls are too flimsy and breaks too easy. This is not a pro set in my opinion.

I have owned the Badlands Jacket and pants for 3 years, over which time have ridden approx 90,000 miles. Whilst it has served me very well and provided great protection, whilst keeping me dry (most of the time) it was a very heavy suit and not very comfortable. The new one (pro) seems to have some great improvements but I'm not going to rush out and replace mine with the new Pro. Mainly because they have taken away things that were of great benefit to a rider like me that cross many borders, sometimes several in one day. The waterproof pockets on the left chest to store phone, passport etc for easy access were great, they seem to have gone. The numerous inside mesh pockets were very useful, they have gone by the looks of it. The upper arm vents don't open up enough due to removing the cinch strap to allow air flow. The none waterproof vent zips on the front of the jacket are useless if you are shielded by your bikes screen / tank bag or console. Airflow would have been better where they were before. Overall, Klim seem to have focused primarily on a rider falling off the bike as opposed to airflow, storage or practicality. Whilst we all dream of having that one suit that does everything, I feel Klim have over engineered this version and not considered storage or practicality of use. No outside waterproof storage pocket, really!? So when it's pouring with rain or freezing cold you have to unzip the jacket fully to access your phone, passport or other. That's just crazy. For example; the rear storage pouch is now smaller and accessing it in my opinion is more fiddly. Before you could get a ton of stuff in there, you can get what you could before in the pocket now. It's a big shame for me as I love klim, but the new Pro version of Badlands for me just isn't practical for worldwide touring. It lacks the basic things all riders need. After all, we don't fall off our bikes every day but we do need access to dry storage pockets without the need to strip off each time. Finally, it looks ugly, the styling is reminiscent of the 90's shell suit. Whilst Klim focused more on Protection, its a shame they have no sense of fashion. Overall, for a jacket that costs over £1k, I do believe there are other similar jackets that look better, provide the same protection, more practical and user friendly and cost less.

Hi Anthony, HNY - Just a few questions .., you mentioned the hydration pack in this video. Q1 - How / where does the hydration pack fit into this jacket.. ,as you skimmed quickly over that section without giving it any attention . Q2 - Is the hydration pack included with the jacket ? Q3 - Is the waterproof roll-top pouch (to store a phone etc) included in the front pocket .., like the one that used to be attached on the string? cheers.
@RevZilla6 жыл бұрын
The hydration pack fits in a pocket behind the back protector (between the back protector and the outer shell). The hydration pack is not included but is available separately (see link below). As for the waterproof roll-top pouch, our sample did not include one, and we're waiting to hear whether it will be included in the final production version. UPDATE: The jacket will not include a waterproof roll-top pouch. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/klim-hydrapak-reservoir

The outside pockets aren't waterproof? There goes my strategy of where to store my wallet and phone. :-( Do guys use the interior pockets for these? I usually find the interior pockets less comfortable to stash bulkier items as they are right up next to my body.

Hmmm... not sure whether to buy this Badlands Pro jacket & pants or the Latitude. I mainly ride on the road, but do occasionally go on a long road trip once or twice a year. I ride a sportbike a few times a week for commutes and adventure bike for the road trips. Been looking for a good protective jacket and pants that can do both. I've tried on a badlands jacket before (probably the previous version at a store once) and it feels a little stiff... not sure how much they break in over time... I've never tried the Latitude, but if I do get it, I'd definitely want to upgrade it to the lvl 2 impact armors that the badlands have. Any suggestions? Perhaps there's another option I'm not aware of?
@RevZilla5 жыл бұрын
Klim is a little stiff, but it is great quality. For more flex, great quality, and a less bulky fit, I'd go for the Euro brands like Dainese, REV'IT!, and Alpinestars. They'll work better on your sportbike commutes while still being great on the ADV trips. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/revit-dominator-gtx-jacket *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-gran-turismo-gore-tex-jacket *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/revit-poseidon-2-gtx-jacket *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-sport-master-gore-tex-jacket *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/aether-navigator-jacket *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/revit-trench-gtx-jacket *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-carve-master-2-gore-tex-jacket *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/reax-ridge-textile-jacket *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-rain-master-d-dry-jacket

I'm Very disappointed. Klim refuses to leave the following comment on their website! It does not inspire me more confidence in their products because if I had read real reviews like mine, I would never buy their coat! Velcro collar that does not hold. Cords sliders that tear at the first use. I can understand that the water can go through the collar, but in other places it is unacceptable given the price paid. I try two Badland Pro Coats and the water comes in the same places for each of them. That is, my elbows are wet with every rain. I also confirm that all zippers are closed to their maximums. I will have to wear a raincoat over my badland jacket during rainy days!

for the price rubbish, just been given a set as my Adventure pants went in for repair but they just replace with these which are garbage in comparison. Try getting a set of SG12 boots on you have to haul the whole leg up over the knee PIA, the knee armour gets in the way of the top of the boots, no protection at the bottom of the leg for heat of damage against the bike, and the leather panels on the inside of the leg are like soft glove leather, no real wear resistance in it at all. WAY to expensive for what you get
@richardmunson21803 жыл бұрын
Lighter = Less robust, cheaper to make, way less useful internal pocket storage, you now have three pockets on on the outside and two on the inside all level with each other you can only effectively use one otherwise they are way to bulky. The new shell material is just awful, looks cheap feels cheap, and feels like it would rip in a heartbeat. The have always been expensive jackets but this feels like a $500 jacket for $1000. Everything about it looks and feels like it is built down to a price not built to the quality of the previous versions.

'They have moved the Tracker pocket to the arm and out of harms way????' Firstly it is now in a high impact location where there is a very good chance of it getting destroyed or lost in a big fall. In that fall it could now act as a concentrated impact fulcrum that despite D3O could still hurt the rider. More importantly, how is a badly injured rider with a broken left arm going to reach across his body to his right shoulder to activate it when he is trapped under his bike at the bottom of a scree that he has just fallen down? You would be surprised how many people die worldwide every year because they cannot reach their SPOT devices to activate them. Happened in the USA in 2014 to a dual sport rider. hIs body was found 6 months later. Had he been able to reach his SPOT which he had put on his bike rather than himself ( common mistake) he would have lived. Shame on you guys at KLIM, you really ought to know netter than that, a SPOT pocket must always be front and centre.

I bought myself a different Klim Jacket, the Badlands pro. I am very disappointed about this product, it is so much of not practical. It states to have a lot of pockets, but acutally you cant use them, they are to small, of are made of mesh material, or are being blocked when u open the upper part with the straps to hold it open. It very uncomfortable, it feels like a middleage armor made of metal. I rode with it about 500km and bought myself a Rukka R.O.R. jacket with a additional protector suit inside it. That is so much more quality and comfort. Sorry but for me : No Klim again. Overrated and not good for real world usage
