Sometimes life imprisonment can be more cruel.... but justified. Imagine if he lives 30-40 years, hearing only snippet of life outside going on without him, whatever friends family he had left moving on or even passing off etc.? He deserve all that time to wallow in regret.

@@dreamking893 that depends on the level of security. But what I meant was prison is basically an ant farm, life in a micro scale, like high school. (Again, depending on the level of security, minimum vs maximum and the like). Some people who only really Know prison life don't handle outside life well, or those who are part of organized crime can still dominate and do almost as they please.

Spoilers The husband/nuclear physicist stole the ideas/work of a grad student (now working at the particle accelerator lab). The grad student was pissed and wanted credit but was refused. He sent a mail bomb hoping to injure or harm the husband but didn’t know that the couple had separated and wasn’t living there anymore. He eventually admits guilt in exchange for credit for his work (the husband had to admit he stole the grad student’s work in order to prove motive)
