Stephen Kershaw the south is the most cultural place in the us. It includes French southern. Chinese Southern. African Southern.Mexican Southern. It has 100s cultural icons for black and white. It also has a large variety of food. Racism is dwindling down here, and we’re accepting each other cultures and uniting. Many of us dislike the north for slandering our pride and heritage. All races played into each other cultures and we are silently thankful for each other. There’s always people flying the confederate flag, and even those flying confederate Mexican flags which is very cool.

Hey Chad - I have visited the USA many times, but mainly the South, and I'm not ashamed to admit, that I have a GREAT SOFT SPOT for the South - your obvious pride in being Southerners - your hospitality to foreigners - your whole life style, not to mention your a little old fashined way of treating ladies and elders, not to mention the Southern Kitchen. I'm a Dane, and first visited the South (Ft. Benning, GA) on an army exchange program in the mid-seventies, but I have been all over the South, and as soon as people heard, that I and my companions were from Denmark , we were treated like long lost family members. I wish you, and the United States good luck - the future already seem brighter!

"You still ride horses over there right ?" Im like no we drive big huge trucks and our horses ride in trailers now .. I have never even been close to a horse where I live . Um,the lower one third of"Indiana"definitely tends to have a southern like influence/twist to it due to the fact that many of the original settlers came from southern states such as Kentucky,Tennesee and Virginia etc.

Chad, I am from Mississippi and now live in North Dakota. I've had a couple of people make rude and loud comments about my accent which hurt my feelings. In all my years I never insulted anyone over their accents. Most like my accent. I am in a Bible study with older ladies. I call them Miss and their first name. Most wanted me to call them by just their first name. I told them, "No, Ma'am. My mama and daddy brought me up better than that, and I don't care how old I am, they can still get me." They laughed, and it took them a while to get used to it, laughing each time for the first year, but they liked it from the beginning. There are some very nice people up here, and then there are those who won't speak when you greet them or hold a door open for them. For the manners, I miss the South where children and teens don't usually call parents by their first names, where people speak to strangers, where a greeting can stretch from "Hello" to a hug, etc. I adored this video when a local friend (who loves sharing Southern things with me and wants to know if they are "really real") shared this yesterday. I'm sending it to my mom. I hope you have a great day. I subbed and will be sharing this on FB.

Prasit Kenny Yupanki Kachkhanki, if I understand your comment to imply I moved north to leave black people in the south, shame on you. I don't use that disrespectful term, though some of my former coworkers called each other that and called me racist and "white woman." I loved them and treated them well regardless of how I was treated. I have black friends I would die for, here and at home. The only people I wanted to leave behind were those that are lawless, use and sell drugs, are belligerent, and are in a constant state of victim mentality marked by "the government owes me." There are sinners in every color, creed, socioeconomic level, education level, and so on. No one created by God is better or worse than any other. There are many black Americans here who have come from North Carolina, Chicago, and other places looking for jobs and are so glad they left the "foolishness" behind them. There are many Muslim refugees working in our stores, and I had one who called me her sister and we would hug and kiss cheeks. If I misunderstood you, I apologize. If your remark was intended as the insult it seems, go away with your ugliness.

+Patrick Barden As far as I'm concerned, feminists can go ram it. I was and still am a gentleman. I hold the door, say yes ma'am and such. I had this feminist that I ended up figuring out try to ram her damn foot up my rear for being polite. I didn't have proper words to say to her, I'm a Coloradan btw and a cowboy and ranch hand.
@echt114
@echt114 8 жыл бұрын
+Stephen Babcock You say you "do think beyond my own programming," yet you continue to justify your thinking by saying you're someone who "was taught to be a gentleman." Taught? Don't you examine whether something makes sense? Maybe the idea of "gentleman" you've absorbed isn't the only one. Maybe the idea of interacting equally regardless of gender makes more sense. What if you had been "taught" that way? I find it hard to believe you're unaware of how much women have historically been seen and treated as being less capable in a society where males have held most of the power and control (political, economic, and social), and how those slights still show up for women in various ways. The door thing is more symbolic than problematic, and no, a feminist making a point about it shouldn't go overboard with rudeness, but you also should make an effort to understand why she might feel that way.
