The super-thick Punjabi lassi is a relatively modern concept and more so, a city thing. Traditional lassi is not super/ thick nor sweet, but despite it being watery and sour (salt mitigates the sourness somewhat) - it super-healthy and will not expand your waistline! Keep up the videos Karl 🙏🏽

Hello Karl, I really enjoyed watching your videos! I wanted to share a quick note about lassi. Traditionally, lassi is quite thin, and there's a saying that you can dilute it endlessly with water. My grandfather told me that it was their go-to drink. My grandmother would fill a clay pot with lassi early in the morning, and throughout the day, whenever it got low, they would top it off with water and if necessary, add some milk cream or yogurt. The mango lassi and the versions served in hotels and restaurants today are modern interpretations and differ significantly from the traditional recipes made by older generations.

I wish we had this in the West. If you look at the sheer number of staff working to make tasty, nutritious, fresh food; you cant translate the incoming and outgoings of the same in the West - you would be out of business in a week.
@udp10242 күн бұрын
Labour is cheap $5 per day. Businesses up-skill them with training. It’s a win-win solution. The business itself is not making a ton of money. Just a comfortable living for the owner. They have to maintain prices at a level that their customers can support while ensuring quality. A difficult but not impossible proposition. The business itself runs on volume. These Dhaba type places are typically open for half a day. More successful ones are open for even less hours. They differentiate themselves by specializing in specific items, specific meals etc. In the West, the holding costs (rents) are so high that they drive up wages. These two then become the biggest costs for the business. Higher volume, instead of translating into profits, attract the need for more labour and thus more costs.
@rizwanmuhammad6468Күн бұрын
Not totally true. You also charge 10 times more in the west. There examples of fresh food in the went and they taste better. And they work. By the way you can get this food in the west. You just have to look for it.

Hi Karl- when I watch these videos showing foods that are sold at such prices, I usually wonder how it can be possible to do so. After all, we all know there’s costs associated to preparing food… the costs of the ingredients & the cost of labor & maybe overhead costs like supplies & rent / electricity / etc. you’ve been there for years. How can they sell at such an unbelievable low cost without losing money?? How much do they profit from on a $1 dish??
@umersdiary2.02 күн бұрын
well in western countries , the sellers sell things at maximum profit rates but in asia such as in pakistan , they sell at minimum profit because not everyone can afford higher prices . moreover , it might be looking cheap for you but even one dollar is a lot for many in asia . things are different in asian countries

i love the things that you are realizing in Pakistan such as the way you said you are sad that cafe and other restaurants are taking over and everything is processed. i swear this is the same thing i also hate about west. everything is processed and tasteless. in Pakistan its all natural, full with probiotics and natural ingredients. also sometimes you mention how beautiful the hospitality is of people in Pakistan. after coming to west i realized that people backhome were more nicer and freindly than here in the US i amgonna move back to Pakistan after they complete their 4 big dams, which will produce enough electricity for the country and end load shedding this is the main concern for me. i live near Trump area. but i like natural life, natural food and natural people. i am tired of processed foor, man made artificil life and fake friendships
