Күн бұрын

The rainbow trout have been going CRAZY in the past few weeks. With the weather warming up and bugs hatching fly fishing for trout can be some of the most exciting fishing around. This honey hole was made from a discharge from several culverts causing a small spillway LOADED with fish. Most of the fish were caught on a hand tied nymph paired with a Risen 23PS Nymph rod. One or two of the trout came off of a large terrestrial dry fly. Creek fishing for trout doesn't get any better than this. I hope you enjoy this trout fishing video!

What a great spot! A flyfisher doesn't need any more than a couple of good stretches with some deeper pools. The water flows and surroundings reminds me of European small rivers in countries such as Belgium or Germany. Thanks for sharing!

Not that I mind either way, but has this spillway been on here before? Just looked familiar. Nice of you to join the Risen club too. I got a 23PS a few years back for streamers and general fishing. I like it. Company is good, and Ryan their owner is a super good dude. Loved the video and nice job netting some great bows! Tight lines!

No sir you have not seen this one. I'm not even exaggerating when I say I know of at least 2 dozen culverts are that have fish (or should have fish). But I usually save most of them and only use footage if I actually catch good fish out of them. Sometimes they're hit or miss. But yeah the rod is awesome! I have no complaints so far.

Good video I wish there was wild streams near me like you have all we have is a few stocked streams that are safe for the people they catch the fish out and keep them in two or three days tops after stockingwe only have one large river that holds fishy around but it's behind a dam and the water fluctuate so much you can't fish half the time when they're generating powerin the current gets up so high and Swift it moves the fish constantly so it's hard to figure out consistently where they're at so I'm definitely jealous that you have so many honey holes it's a good thing man

Reason it's so good is cause baitfish and other food get swept out of the culvert from the other side. Fish can't go up stream easily because of that same culvert. So they got a pool to sit in and feed
@hardmanfishing
@hardmanfishing 4 жыл бұрын
And the culvert creates a plunge pull so it is a deeper pool for the fish to lay in in comparison to the rest of the creek! But you are correct.

@@keiranrooker7981 tie your nymphs with tungsten beads and lead wire underneath to keep your sighter line taut; they usually need to be pretty heavy. I also like to flip my nymphs really hard into the water when i cast to shoot them down into the water column quickly. Good luck.
@JOBAHT
@JOBAHT 4 жыл бұрын
@@keiranrooker7981 your line doesn't need to be straight while euro nymphing. If you are fishing with a small nymph you will probably never have straight line, but that's totally ok. If you have curve in your line/sighter when fish grabs the nymph it will straighten it and you will see the hit. Try that on some part of river where water is calm and slower.
