This is one of those rigs where you plan a month in advance which route you’ll take. Not like you would be able to make a right hand turn without taking up the entire street. And even then you’ll have a problem. Sure looks purty though.

Honestly man, satellite view on Google maps mixed in with Google Earth, local truck routes online with weights and heights, updates for construction, see exactly where your entrances are, logging roads are a breeze ..... Old timers gotta admit, technology has come in pretty handy for this industry. If your memory isn't the greatest, you shouldn't follow the GPS blindly, instead mark your turns a, b, c, manually as you scout. I've got it down to a science. Done all of Canada on my own never been somewhere I shouldn't be. Hell I can find the Indian reservations waaaay up north off the satellite view and they're all labeled.

Beautiful rig - love the color. I had no idea the sport of tractor pulling was so lucrative. The only thing I did not like about this setup is there is no direct access between the cab and sleeper. You have to exit the cab to get into the sleeper which IMO is a big drawback. I wonder what was the thinking behind this arrangement.
@alexanderpettit21062 жыл бұрын
Nothing a little buckshot can't fix.
@horsepowerjunkies2 жыл бұрын
It's not lucrative to where tractor pulling financed and maintains a setup like this. Pretty safe bet the owner was already rich from other sources and obviously put a lot into their pulling set up out of love for the sport.
@walterjackson77572 жыл бұрын
Just from starting to watch the video it looks like the sleeper has 2 slide outs that when in would blocks the access from truck to sleeper.
@AG-ol2gb2 жыл бұрын
It looks like the rig is owned and operated by different people, maybe the owner wasn't too worried about comfort for his driver, I would've put an access for sure

Would love to see the trailer fitted as pure living space. 2 bedrooms in the front with shared full bath, master suite in the back with king-size bed lofted over master bathroom, kitchen/living room and half bath in the middle. Slide outs for the bedrooms and living room would just be icing on the cake.
@reflex3843 Жыл бұрын
Exactly this. I understand the golf cart, that's a useful vehicle to get around with when going "camping" with this rig. But why did they bring the tractor? What for? I rather have that space as living space instead. Edit: yes, the tractor is for tractor pulling in which case this makes sense. Besides that, my other point stands.

Probably no payments. A rig like this is custom & I doubt anyone is building this and “chancing” it on payments.
@declansills16142 жыл бұрын
I can't see how it could maneuver through turns. A wheelbase of over thirty-five feet is hard enough to turn by itself. The trailer is fifty three feet, unless it's permitted to be longer. Truck stops have to be a killer to get in and out of. It's a beautiful rig, no doubt about that. Going down the interstate has to be awesome.

For newer emissions engines the Cummins X-15 or the slightly older ISX-15'S Deleted are pretty dope. 40,000 lbs on the trailer barely have to split 8th up a regular sized hill. The back is for the car and the front is a full kitchen and lounge area and above than is his personal lounge. It wasn’t this tricked out but very nice. His driver is the boss of the cook area and turns out fabulous meals. Huge awning for outside work on the car and entertaining area. They spend a lot of time on the road during racing season. We had a husband/ wife team move us one time. She was the main driver and they had a cat. No kids so she said they had a very small house because they were on the road most of the time. Makes sense to have the best quarters where you spend most of your time.

I pity the mechanics that have to work on that truck. Back in the '80s I was working for an independent shop. We had a customer that hauled computers from San Francisco Bay area to the northeast. He had a long wheelbase Kenworth with a huge sleeper on it. Had hundreds of marker lights outlining the truck and the trailer. Plus custom paint and all other kinds of crap. Cost him a fortune to maintain. That was before leds. Voltage drops galore! He was a nice guy, just an oversized ego. Felt sorry for him he weighed probably 350 lb. But his hair was perfect along with his gold chains. Don't think he led a healthy life. Maybe a glamorous one in his eyes. In the end who cares about all the bling? I guess the guys paying for it. Sometimes kiss (keep it simple stupid) is better.
