I'd love to talk to the owner to see where their mind is, it makes no sense how they can be so delusional

Wow. $50! For those titles? No wonder they don’t sell.

Exactly! What goes thru their minds, I don't get it.

I was shocked at how much I sold my old albums for from the '70s-'90s last year. Some were demos. Still have my high end home stereo. But haven't turned it on in years. These days, I just listen to Spotify with a DAC. 😮

Yeah, I get it. I got back into vinyl in 2017, but even still listen a lot to Spotify thru my soundbar surround.

Hi Jeff!!! For i have seeing in another thrift stores videos, they seems to be the same "business strategy" overpriced, bit up, old and common records....... but well at least you did find some cool records somewhere else. cheers and be well

Most places are pretty normal, but this particular booth was the craziest I have ever seen.

I have been to places like that and picked up record and the owner says that Queen record has a poster with it. I looked inside no poster!, and the record is scratched. Sellers see big 💰💰💰when they find albums from classic bands like the Beatles, AC/DC , not bothering to do any research. These bands typically sold millions.

Exactly, they see a fantasy and price accordingly. Sad
@johndelaurentis929411 күн бұрын
I agree. Those records were ridiculously overpriced. You got some nice finds for good prices.

Nobody’s gonna buy those beat up $50 albums with 10,000 scratches! 😂

Hopefully they get a hint and adjust their prices accordingly

Antique malls are the same here. People are fooling themselves with prices for titles and conditions. Really hard to find a good deal. I’m assuming they jack up their prices because the antique malls are taking a commission. But it’s still ridiculous.
@JeffMcCormack7777 күн бұрын
Yeah, I figure they have to cover their expenses, but if they never sell any, it seems they would consider moving stock at a lower price, rather than simply storing it and having no sales. Ha ha. I am hoping and praying that no one is actually stupid enough to pay those prices.
@RekkidTalk11 күн бұрын
I haven't watched yet but let me guess: $100 for beat-up Beatles, $50 for a thrashed Journey record, $20 for Whipped Cream.
@RekkidTalk11 күн бұрын
Yeah, pretty much. Been there, seen that. Some people seem to use antique malls as storage because they don't price anything to sell.
@JeffMcCormack77711 күн бұрын
Ha ha, you are not far off :)
@JeffMcCormack77711 күн бұрын
Seems like that for sure. I just don't get what they are thinking.

an Antique are nice items so you could have an projection movie item from the 70's that can be an antique, you can have a sweing machine a certain kind of gun , rocking chairs that show from whatever area pawn show the 2 guys would buy or look at antiques items collectors would want. Thrift stores sell records that are scratched , broken , not in a jacket , the sleeve is ripped this is thrifting used clothes sports cards with a 100 creases in them that's the difference? common stuff but 5 star albums? Steve Morse , nice REO , Stray Cats , Missing persons, so if an common everyday album is 5 stars like Aerosmith - get Your wings , Van Halen - woman and children first, Ac /dc 1979 I wouldn't call these albums a 6.00 record? bands that most people have never heard of are not on any list and are not exciting these could be 6.00 albums?
@JeffMcCormack7777 күн бұрын
Well, because of how common and how large the production quantity was in the day, those five star band releases are not worth as much in general. So, they are typically worth about 5 to $10 unless there is something really special about the pressing.

Greed and foolishness. Let ‘em go out of business.
