It's not just delivery drivers, but overall the standard of driving in UK has been getting worse for a while, Covid being a catalyst. I also think it doesn't help that everyone has a "fast" car now. They don't, of course. But rewind 20 years and if you had a Corsa or a Fiesta you were the slowest thing on the road, chunky SUV's were sluggish, and you were only quick if you had an actual quick car. Nowadays, the little turbo engines in everything give everyone a sense of speed they never had, so more people chance gaps than they used to. Add in the fact that everyone loves a dashcam or thinking if they can go viral they'll be set for life, it's made everyone entitled. Because everyone knows that if you're in the wrong, start filming the situation and that will immediately mean you're in the right.

I done multi drop deliveries years ago. After a number of weeks I got taken on permanently and put straight on a notorious run that had so many failed deliveries due to no one in, nowhere to leave them. They all have number plates, if your bash cam can't pick it up say the number out loud, the cam will pick it up. there are a lot of clear offences, stopping on a zigzag road marking that 3 points for starters, driving down the hard shoulder is the same. The passing on a country lane is a bit trickier as the van may well have been over as far as possible and was giving the cyclist as much room as possible. Before you as ask yes I have driven a delivery van many years ago, but never did anything like this, I have had to report a number of people, which is usually made easier as they have the company name of the van.

Imho, DPD are the worst delivery organisation on the planet. I've had 7 deliveries via them in the last year. Not one delivered successfully. Five to a totally (and obviously wrong) address, and two not even to the right town. 4:13 Entitled parking blocking the sidewalk? Nothing a ring of keys and a firm push along the whole length of the car won't fix. 👍 We had that with a DHL driver when I had our little one in the pram. Driver when prompted, yelled some racist abuse at us and ran off anyway, leaving us to navigate the dangerous traffic with the pram from behind an obstacle. Turns out the DHL driver he had a long deep scratch and broken mirror when he came back. Curious how accidents happen disproportionality to bellends. I had some issues with that company anyway as they crushed my garden fence, then did hit and run. They refused the claim. It ended up with a lawsuit over a couple hundred quid. It cost more to file than to collect, but I was so outraged by the arrogance of DHL that I went forward with it anyway.

I'm not defending the DPD drivers but what I want to point out is that I've worked for DHL in Germany for 3 years and people were a lot more courteous towards the postman than in the UK. They actually gave a fuck about people delivering their parcels compared to here. Now in contrast, there's way too many red light jumpers, people not letting buses out, even not giving way to emergency vehicles. I see it everyday and after 6 years of driving daily 5 days a week 200 miles per day I've lost all my patience as a delivery driver(I main Leicester, Nottingham and Derby for the past year). Motorway driving feels like driving in town centre but more aggressive drivers who leave no gap to the car in front in fear of loosing their spot(there's always someone waiting to jump in front of you). When they're taking the piss I just yolo it through traffic. I've ended up shouting and about to punch someone but it was a lady the other day while waiting to pull in a spot as someone was leaving, after 5-6 turns they managed to finally turn out of the shopping centre. The lady's reaction was "You weren't obvious enough" after I finally parked my car I just said "I'm sorry, I'm having a bad day" I regret shouting at her like that but dealing with so many idiots on the road has put me down, my fuse is very short and get angry easily and do stupid things at the wheel compared to couple years ago where I would be more passive and let the idiots go. Finally, cameras after cameras and what's next, mobile cameras again. While I think they might be useful, a lot of the times they are just a cash cow. I'm so glad I'm finally leaving the country as I feel like I can't spend another minute. Stay safe and don't let the idiots on the road ruin your day, let them go.

'You're not an employee, you're a contractor' exploitation combined with a ready supply of Arab immigrants from lawless countries makes for a pretty explosive combination. Which is why the worst delivery company tends to vary by country and even by time period. Where I live we had huge issues with the DHL until the Moroccan owner sold to a Sikh guy from India who cleaned the place up. I currently have an enforcement case against DHL near my office, where they constantly block the road. The answer to complaints came in the form of racist abuse in Arabic. Well, if it's like that, who am I not to file a formal enforcement request and demand the depot be shut down as illegal? Now they're crying that "I could've simply discussed it with them" and I'm "being unreasonable." Unreasonable is yelling racist abuse in a foreign language when someone asks nicely. Shutting them down over a zoning violation to get rid of their vans is just stage 2 of the FAFO principle. 😆

They are simply a MENACE, DANGER & A HAZARD to others on & off the roads. Other delivery companies are not perfect by any means far from it & could do with some STIFF ( STRICT ) learning aswell. But, DPD why are they STILL in business if they are continuing to extend their DESTRUCTIVE & BAD ATTITUDE & BEHAVIOUR!!!! towards others & not just their potential customers but, EVERYONE!!!! Don't big business i.e AMAZON know about their behaviour yet or simply just ignoring it. We need as many complaints as humanly possible to close DPD DOWN PERMANTLY!!! And it's all the fault of the buyers who "want" next day delivery , if all of us don't buy stuff with next day delivery , DPD would not need to swing the cat o' nine tails on the drivers. Also who want to drive for DPD other than immigrants for that pay ? (also the drivers fault) 🙄🙄🤦♂🤦♂ I know of a few of those "drivers" , the got a job like this one and send the money overseas to buy houses in their "home country" for the cheap while people from over here can't afford their own place , so who is the smart one here? 😖😖
