Being dpd (or even the archetypal piece of crap vans we all see regularly) drivers I doubt they have the capacity in their tiny brains for any common sense thinking. I go up to Leicester alot on the M69 past the A5 junction where did have a couple of depots and they're driving is atrocious going back to base. It's hardly surprising that dpd can also stand for Dopey Prat Driving is it?

I call them Dippy Dee. I used to work in their warehouse. I used to hear that some driver's would start at 05:30 un the morning & still be delivering until 10pm. Then be expected to do the deliveries the next day too. Many of the driver's were self-employed & had to hire the vehicles or had paid DPD a large sum of money as a deposit on a vehicle to work for them. I don't know if that dodgy practice still applies now.

Saw one of these in N.Yorkshire he had taken off his wing mirror ...was laying out all the pieces on the floor near sone toilets next to a bus stop, watched him do it all and then take pictures etc...sat in my van walked over to use toilets ,i said whats happened pal ....oh the bus hit my wing mirror...total lie they come every hour it was half past ..i watched him lay all the pieces out while i was sat in my van on the phone😂

DPD ( along with ocado, Morrisons, amazon etc.) should investigate themselves. Drivers are overloaded with work and have to put up with unrealistic targets some manager created. What will happen after "investigating" accidents shown in this video? Drivers will be kicked out and someone else will take their places. Management will come out with another genius recommendation, like " if you squat 3 times before getting in your van you are less likely to get in an accident, so now we will be doing that, and have some cameras checked regularly to make sure you are squatting ". But, of course, they will not deal with the main problem - drivers being overworked. Because that would mean hiring more drivers and losing some money.

I can understand the difficulties in judgement a new driver might encounter in an articulated vehicle, but for a supposed professional driver to reverse a fixed axle vehicle into anything, should result in a loss of job, their license and an immediate mandatory retest. 🤔

I used to work for Parceline, the company that would later become DPD. On one occasion a driver died at the wheel, heart attack. On receiving the news at the office the first words out of the depot manager's mouth were "how many stops did he have left?"

Alot of them drive the van like its a car same with most van drivers not just dpd. They also dont realise that speed limits are different for vans also. 50mph on national speed limits, 60mph on dual carriageways and 70mph on motorways.

Thing is many houses even today don't have enough parking for vehicles, the roads end up being crammed because they just want the profits and squeeze in more homes. Am surprised the police aren't involved more with many of these incidents because it's a crime to leave the scene of an accident. DPD lately are useless and have no respect, they are more interested in having their drivers rush to meet targets, at the same time it doesn't help when residents don't give a damn and park where they like

7:30 yes van is at fault but if i had big driveway like that what can easy fit two cars id use it every time. even the insurance may get funny cause if you tick the box when at home you park on drive but don't we all know how bad insurance can be and any excuse not to pay out, void paying out as ticking parking on drive while at home lowers your insurance who knows. id never risk road parking if i had a drive even if insurance would be funny or not just thee hassle car getting and getting it fixed and even when not at fault your insurance goes up so either way insurance screw you one way or other

The entire delivery industry needs a fundamental overhaul. And yes, it IS a criminal offence to collide with another vehicle and just drive off. In my area there are two DPD delivery vans operating. One red, one blue. EVERY time I see either of them they have ANOTHER "battle scar", scrapes, gouges, dings etc! And frankly they both drive like loonies....

I’ve worked for a company that has all the contracts with dpd ect and if you cause any damages then it’s your fault regardless and you have to pay and the stupid silly workers put up with these injustices. You are insured but you might as well not be as you have to pay the damages even if it isn’t your fault. Utterly disgusting places to work for and the people that run these companies are bankrupt in morals. Wicked people who only care about money.
