I'm forever looking for a robot vacuum and mop that recognizes mirrors. We own a major dance studio, with big mirrors, and no robot vacuum does well with the mirrors. they make double maps, false and wrong maps, which makes it also impossible to set a no go zone or, fake walls. Do you know if this new dual laser helps with this? Please let me know! Thank you!

I’ve read that Ecovacs has stated that it will help with mirrors, but I can’t speak to that, because I really don’t have mirrors to test it with.

Does it have an onboad water tank on the bot itself, or does it just use damp pads from the station?

How to name rooms after mapping? I have problems with that???

It’s under “map editing” in the settings, then “labeled areas”. Unfortunately you are tied to their predetermined room names.

First time watching your content. Thank you. I just ordered mine and it's arriving next week. I did read a lot of negative reviews specifically about the software, navigation and mapping. Ppl saying it's just terrible. As you do seem like a legit (not sponsored) reviewer, any issues so far with those? Any navigation problems? A lot of people also saying it's deleting the mapping constantly and you need to re-map every time it does. Would love to get an update from you on those issues as I still have a chance to cancel and change the order to Roborock S8. Thanks in advance brother.

The people saying these things, weren't patient enough to solve their own problems. The mapping and navigation is not perfect right out of the gate. The vacuum gets smarter with every use. My first couple uses of this vacuum were a little rough. But all I did was delete the first map and did a second "quick mapping". It's been nearly flawless since.

Thanks for a terrific review. One question I have is why wouldn't you just leave it on the highest vacuum setting to avoid having it be too low? Is it a matter of battery life?

Yes it can be. But I’ve had no issues. It’s been working great.

Do you need a separate base station for each floor in a 2 storey house? I guess I'm wondering how it does a second floor based on a second floor map. How does it know where the start and stop location is or where it is on a second floor without a base station to start from?

You just have to place it on each floor. It will know where it’s at.

I contacted the Ecovacs people and they told me I had to move the base station to the second floor every time I want to use the unit there. I haven't tried it yet to see if you can do it by just taking the robot only to the second floor and start it up at the new location without the base station present. @@GeorgeLangabeer

I currently use the Dreame L10s Ultra which I purchased a few months ago. I have a combination of mostly hardwood floors with some area rugs around the house. The spinning mop pads on the Dreame are what made me go with them over other brands. If this would have came out months ago I would've picked this up right away. $600 for my Dreame, I think I will keep it for a while lol. I will keep my eye on this ecovac though, it looks pretty sweet! I love all the cool tech these companies are putting into these robots. I will say this, any robot vacuum I purchase must have circular rotating mop pads. I highly dislike the single pad even with the vibrations like roborock.

Yeah, when I was starting to get impatient waiting on that Dyson, I almost bought a Dreame instead. Never tried one, but I’ve heard good things. But then this bad boy was announced & I couldn’t resist. I’m with you on the circular mop pads. Definitely key. 👍🏻

Actually, it was very interesting and informative. I'm thinking of buying one of these and have looked at a few reviews. After seeing this, I now feel sufficiently informed to make a final decision...buy. By the way, your critic might like to begin his sentences in upper case apart from using 'too' correctly.
