Makes me so happy that you are showing us these sets. That last sequence of shots as you add the various items to the layout - the boat, the instructions etc, made me think of a chef adding touches to a beautiful plate of food to make the perfect dish. That's the thing with vintage LEGO, it's about all the components of the original set coming together to be admired and cherished. Thank you, Henry!

The box is a marketing masterpiece. That subtle evening purple sky, the warm yellow bricks, that gorgeous red of the boat. When I was a child, I used to desire this more than I desired my next breath. Only now I realize just how simple these sets could be.

They really were so good at giving the imagination a healthy seed without 'overplanting'.

Turns out I probably have this set. I know I have all these pieces except maybe the rifles. I don't recall seeing them. I've long used most of the parts in my layout, but the torsos and accessories I do have just sit, stored. I toss around the thought of moving them along to someone who'd appreciate them more... Oh, and all of my cannons are the 'safety' version :/ Another awesome video, thanks for the insight :) :)

I bought mine (Sabre island) set for only 25 euros. Its complete but clips on big and small flag are broken. Otherwise its in good condition.

very cool. but I think you have not the box and manual for that price? But otherwise it is a absolute bargain!
