Say you had lights on already on a patio (color lights) can you set it up so it doesn’t check for motion when the lights are already on?

I think that’s something you can do in the Hue Labs settings..

I guess the easiest way to achieve that would be to adjust the light sensitivity slider with your existing lights switched on. The PIR will always detect motion but will not react if you have the light sensitivity adjusted to your requirements. Any time the existing lights are off the level at which you set the light sensor would take care of things.

With the Hue app and external motion sensor is it possible to have the lights fully on for a portion of the night and then motion activated for the rest of the night? e.g. I want the rear lights on constantly from 6pm to 9pm but after that time I want them only to be motion activated until morning.

So I think it’s possible now as you can define what the motion sensor does at different times. You might be able to make a routine that does that
